At the beginning of the year we started a five year plan to save, safe proof our home so that we can retire in our 50's. 6 months in and all is well. These retirement vlogs have been informative. ( must purchase vodka)❤

Great budgeting tips for those who are retired and for those still working too. No doubt it’s a huge adjustment for you both so make the most of having this free time 👍
Our advisor on works with UK resident who have relocated to the USA. If that fits your demographic ping me on one of our social media accounts and I will send you the info
We are so grateful for these videos. Only in our mid/late-40s and probably won’t retire for another 20 years but your advice has got us talking and planning for retirement. Feeling less daunted by the whole thing now and making changes that will put us in a stronger position down the line.
You are so right, the little things make a big difference in the Long Run 🏃 Silly things like I was paying a monthly subscription for Asda deliveries….looked into it, now changed to a yearly subscription…..saved me £20 in the year…not loads but do this with everything and adds up 😊and done in a lump some, not losing the £6.50 a month…..great if you can do this ❤ Anyway….just enjoy your time guys, remember….EVERY DAY IS BEST ❤❤❤❤❤
EVs are really just a second car for running errands and short trips from home. Definitely not for cross country trips. Too much anxiety and wasting time charging.
Hi guys, I love this type of video, I think it's just being more self-aware and being conscious about decisions, which is important when it comes to sticking within a budget, it's the same as if you were on a diet making conscious decisions, like am I going to have white bread or wholemeal bread, or when you're in the parks am I going to have a nice cake or am I going to have a cereal bar from my backpack 😂 I'm sure you'll figure it out and manage to get more within your budget!
I disagree with the wives. Going home is never good. No matter what the weather is doing. Remember, a bad day fishing is better than a good day at work.
Congratulations, on your retirement, I retired at 55, 3 weeks ago after 27 years in the UK Royal Navy and 10 years in the security sector in Canada. I would never completely pay my mortgage off, I have invested for the past 25 years and made way more money doing that, than paying interest on the mortgage. Mortgage is the cheapest money you can get. Credit rating is not affected by retirement as you must have income to retire, credit rating only gets a hit when you default, not retire. Always have an independent financial planner. I now day trade the stock market and Crypto outside of my main investments . My wife is still working as a school teacher, but she likes it and not interested in retirement yet. I liked your presentation, especially the “No unsecured debt” so many people fail to realize this. If it works for you great, I’m just peeling the orange a different way. Enjoy 😎🥃
I'm going through some mold problems myself. I'm glad you got it all taken care of. When you said "ants" I got very worried for you that it was termites 😱. I'm good with keeping up my pest and termite treatments, but I'm terrified to find them. I enjoy the renovation videos almost as much as I like the theme park content. Great video :)
@@ThemeParkBazza Thank goodness renovation videos are finite, at least when it comes to your house. Not that the work ends, ever 🤣🤣 As long as I get to see y'all ride some coasters! That's my favorite content, even though I like the reno stuff too
This one was a lot of fun! I'm really enjoying binging your videos :) I think Max deserved to win those two golf games lol And Barry's dancing made me smile
When my husband and I both started working from home, we decided to get rid of my car and we now share his! There are times that having a 2nd car would be handy, but I doubt we'll go back to having 2 cars again! Definitely worth the saving!
I think 58 if you can afford it is a great age to retire. However, there’s a balancing act, and if you can’t afford to do stuff, it’s not worth it. I see comments of people saying they reduced to 1 car etc. me and my wife couldn’t do that, would have no interest. We don’t follow each other around like shadows, my wife may go to the shops, me gym, go here and there. I don’t know how people just have one car, particularly in the US with no public transport. Just lease a cheap car, with low insurance. No maintenance then really. I’m surprised in Florida you haven’t invested in battery and solar to reduce electric down to hardly anything.
Electricity is so cheap here Solar takes 10 + years to pay off and in Florida you have to renew your roof every 15 years for insurance so it does not make a lot of sense. They also changed the rules meaning you get basically nothing for selling any excess energy back to the utility companies.
On budget, its really all about those monthly fixed costs, variable costs you can control, +/-. Lots of self help and free online trackers to punch the numbers in...
Thanks for taking the time to make your great video. I am really sorry that you hurt your foot, and I hope it recovers soon. Hopefully it is recovered by now. However, there are a few things in your video that are not good examples for the public who might be interested in an EV. I have driven across the country three times. And up and down the country three times, as well as taken many other long trips of over 500 miles. So I do have experience on long journeys and I would like to make some comments about your video. Thank you very much. 1) at the beginning of the video you said you’re bringing a rag to put around the charging cables because that is what you have seen on other RU-vid channels. I don’t know if you did this or not, but this is not the right thing to do and is recommended not to do it by Tesla because it can cause issues regarding the safety and voltage of the charger. If you did do this, this may be the reason that you had your issue where you had to go to the service center. In fact, it actually sounds like that would be a cause of it. Regardless, things happen on the road, especially with long trips and with gas cars things happen even more than with EV‘s as there are much more moving parts. When that happens, we deal with it, the same way you dealt with getting the car repaired which they did in a pretty quick amount of time. I have had my windshield, or as you say, windscreen, cracked from rocks from a truck and one from the heat and I had to go to that service center to fix it. It’s just one of those things. There are very many things that can go wrong much more than an EV. I am sorry that you had that problem, whatever caused it, but things do happen on long trips. 2) You mentioned range anxiety. Many times you went off the route and just did what you wanted to do. If you follow at the Tesla Avenue tells you to do, you’ll never have to worry about any range problems. Will adjust and readjust as needed, depending on how much energy you’re using. Also, getting to a Tesla charger with three or 4% even is not a problem. People feel comfortable getting there with 15% or something to that effect, but with the Tesla network, you’re really never gonna find that the entire charge station is out of service. And if that was to happen, it would actually inform you right on the app, which I did have happen in Hattiesburg while they were doing maintenance on it while I was driving across the country, but you don’t have to worry normally you just go and even if you end up with a few percent or if you percent gets less depending on your driving or other issues, it’s not a problem. And if it is, they will route you the right way. 3) your wife mentioned about the windshield wipers. As Tesla’s self driving and safety features why on the camera that is behind the windshield, every now, and then the wipers will go on by themselves for a swipe to clear the camera of any kind of dirt block it. This is a safety thing and is really not a big deal. In major storm, sometimes you have to put the wipers on full blast yourself, but this is with many cars. 4) you said this was a relaxing trip because you were constantly having to watch what the car is doing and it’s charge. I find the opposite of this. Especially when you’re using Tesla self driving. I find the car tells when and where to charge and how long to do it. And if you just listen to what it says, you have a great drive, with very little to worry or think about. The car will never let you end up in the middle of nowhere with no charge. It just won’t do that. I don’t mean to be critical about your drive, but I do want to make certain points here. When I watch your videos, I see very little reason I would say I would not use an EV for a road trip. I’ve done it. My last trip across the country took me from LA to Chicago to Branson, Missouri to Florida to New York and back to LA over 10,000 miles with no problems whatsoever having to do with the car . I have the cheapest Tesla the rear wheel drive with only 278 miles of range and I’ve never had a problem. Again, I am sorry you had that one problem as far as your charging system getting fused which is an anomaly. However, just like a gas car anything could happen and much less can happen with an EV as there are hardly any parts, thank you and all the best and I really hope you keep your Tesla and road trip with it again if you need any advice or assistance, please feel free to reach out to me.
To add sorry definitely agree with finding that little something to do when stepping out from the working world does help you adjust. Also helps find that other social circle that you will need, work colleagues will undoubtedly disappear it’s only natural.
Retired a year ago at 55, as you say best thing ever. Agree with all your comments nice to hear them thought it was just me. We ditched our second car straight away and adapted well we find a way around pretty much everything should things clash. Money wise don’t be hard in yourself, yes you have to be more mindful but you’ve worked long enough, just keep one eye on tomorrow, but who knows how long we all have just go and enjoy.
Oh yes they do, the difference being roadside assistance has a chance of getting you going again as opposed having to drive 60miles to the nearest Tesla service center
I think you should definitely bit the bullet and actually sell both cars and buy a nice new as poss plug in hybrid best of both worlds. I’ve 17 years to go yet and I’m already of the mind set that we’ll go straight from 2 to 1 sensible car between us 👍🏻
Great Vlog. I am of retirement age but still working 3 days a week as I live alone and my social interaction at work means a lot to me and my worry is how to fill my time when it’s just me. Probably start on the vodka like Mrs Bazza 😂😂😂
Hi bazzas loved this explaining your retirement, my husband agreed on all you said about budgeting when you retirement he retired 4 yrs ago n we do the ( where an we cut costs,n maxine keep.with the vodka n rum ,I don't drink but some days I would 😂😂
I retired early then retrained in nails which I love doing. I have a little home salon and it just preserves the savings a little. We said “we can’t be going to Costa every day! And what do we do? Go to Costa every day🤣🤣🤣. Xxx
If you have to stop everything you enjoy what was the point in retiring early you've worked long and hard for this yes do what you've done cut your cloth accordingly life's too short to live by a spreadsheet you don't know what's round the corner so make the most of your retirement
We live near the Springfield, Va charging area you stopped at. My husband took a Tesla trip with a friend who owns one and they went to Pennsylvania. He tried to get a charge at a station that wasn't a Tesla charger and none of his adapters would work. So he had to drive out of his way to another charging station. Just seems like too many issues to be practical for road trips.
@@ThemeParkBazza I think the other Crown and Anchor might still be open on Decatur and Spring Mtn but to be honest RiRa inside Mandalay Bay is better food (Irish Pub).
