Today Maxine finally checks one more item from her bucket list, a visit to Southfork Ranch in Dallas Texas. Max first watched the series 'Dallas" as a young kid in the UK and has wanted to visit the actual Southfork Ranch for 45 years and today is the day.
We will bring you along with us on the full tour and give you some tips and tricks for staying in the area.

Southfork is still on my bucket list, Dallas still my favourite show have all the series on dvd and still watch them. I was lucky enough to meet Linda Gray (aka Sue Ellen) on a cruise to Norway when she was onboard as a guest speaker and had my picture taken with her it has pride of place in my kitchen.

We celebrated New Years Eve in the SF Banquet room with our daughters High School Band 2005. It was beautiful and they did a great job with all the kids and parents who went with the band. They were invited to perform in the Cotton Bowl Halftime show in Dallas. We also went to the site where John Kennedy was assassinated . I'm so glad you finally were able to see SF Maxine.

The rainstorm was wonderful, like the audios for sleeping. Love your trip to the Southwest! We lived in Tulsa for about 10 years and went to Dallas several times and visited San Antonio a few times. I loved both, especially San Antonio.

Great, bought back memories in my early 20s with a newborn watching Dallas. Terry Wogan calling Sue Ellen ,Swelling as she was a drinker ha ha. And being windswept sitting by the pool.

We went to South fork about 20 years ago when our family lived in Fort Worth. They're in Savannah now. South fork was interesting but smaller than I expected. Hope you both enjoyed it.

Loved it, the joy on Maxines face is wonderful. And your vlog has brought back hapoy memories of watching dallas on the tv, but I have to point out that JR wasn't shot in a hotel room, it was in the offices that the Ewings used.😊

Absolutely loved this! Huge Dallas fan (& Dynasty). JR Ewing plagued me at High school, my maiden name initials were JR and everywhere I went I got 'who shot you JR' 😂 Much better initials when I married .... I'm now a JD 👍😁 Lovely to see you both enjoying yourselves together ❤️

I can still recall going with my Mum and Dad to a "who shot JR" party at one of their friends' homes . Amazing that a TV Soap Opera could have that impact on a Nation. (Simpler times). Great Vlog Great Memories 👍

Went to Southfork many moons ago. It's a fab tour. I remember the frenzy in the UK when JR was shot. So impressed Maxine chose Southfork tiles for your shower!

You should also check out the Riverwalk it’s in San Antonio. It’s a really cool area. I have family in Austin, Dallas, and north of Dallas and all over Texas.

On catch up. Dallas was huge in our house as well. Dynasty not so much. But I did enjoy Knots Landing which was the Dallas spin off with bad brother Gary. It was even windy for you - they would sit at the swimming pool with a gale howling messing with the hair. Gillian

I saw the tour walk thru on the guys channel so i ff thru that part but enjoyed the rest of it! We didn't have cable where i lived until early 1990's and so we had only 6 channels one of them played Dallas so ofc we watched it but once i got cable and had many more channels i didnt' care who shot jr much lol but it was definitely iconic!

I was 11 when Dallas started. Used to watch it with my mum, I remember the whole shot JR story line and the disappointment when the shooter was revealed.

This brought so many memories of the TV show. Question - I was lead to believe that people working in American got very few holidays - but you seem to have a decent amount of holidays like we do in the U.K. Was I incorrectly informed?

Most US employees start new employees on 10 days annual vacation . I have a senior management position in my company and I have just upgraded to 25 days from 20 after working there 5 years . To give you some idea 20 years ago when I I left the UK with a regular job I have 25 days vacation plus public holidays. It’s taken me 20 years working in the USA to get that back

This may sound odd but South Fork really felt like walking around Graceland with the rooms being viewable but not accessible. And Patrick Duffy will always be The Man from Atlantis to me!

We are staying at the Rosen in. At Pointe Orlando do you think its a good location for exploring i drive?

Yes perfect , you re 20mins walk from everything , maybe 25 to ICON Park and you have the iTrolly to get around

They give you 24 hours from passing the first toll to uploading your vehicle reg. number. You don’t need to do it before you leave the rental depot.

I don’t trust them :-) . I made a mistake and did not activate the transponder until the next day and received a nice $30 charge from the rental car company for tolls on that first day
