It was a while ago now, I can't really remember. From memory it was just the cost of the centre bearing because the engine was out at the same time to fix the sump. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
Pretty easy to fit the FG k frame into ef el xh if you want to change the k frame I’m pretty sure a bf sump will fit in the EF with the usual front, cut of the sump
@@rossspec6585 to fit the fg k frame you simply slice the outside of the rails drill new holes and move the bolt tubes to suit even the line up pins in the fg frame line up with e series
Id only buy the xr8 for the 302 Windsor to go into my 75 TD cortina because I already have two xr6 xh both manual Utes one 96 navy blue and one 98 ice white xr6 go quicker than the 8s

If the fg rear brakes bolt up, territory rear brakes will too. Much bigger brakes. I did that to my fg. But, you would probably need to do something about the front brakes 😅 wouldn't want to be driving with larger rest brakes, I'd have thought
Yeah, going even bigger on the back would be the ultimate plan but I'll probably save that for the EF. It was a good proof of concept with bits and pieces I had laying around.
@@rossspec6585 I’ve got a AU powered xr6 xh Ute manual.. my toy but I found out the other day that LS1 heads pretty much bolt straight into 302 Windsor I know a old farmer who has a xr8 xh Ute but won’t sell it to me 😎 I want to try out this LS thing on it see how it goes would be cool to have both 6 and 8 Utes
Man they look great i have a 1994 ef xr6 white , a 1995 ef xr8 heritage green. and a 1996 el xr6 heritage green will be great to see how far you go with both of then
I have a 1994 ef xr6 same colour and it hasn’t been in a accident and is missing the exact stuff as yours is so I’m guessing maybe it was just those models didn’t come out with the inserts
They definitely all came with the inserts. They do fall out too which might have happened to yours. I'm thinking mine has had an accident because every piece of plastic that goes behind the bumper is missing too...
All this has done is inspire me to throw the kitchen sink at my miami fg lol. At the least get it close to production car times at QR Got a close ratio magnum on the way for starters.
Ok It gives me an idea what times my EL XR6 will run on the Sprint circuit now after see what yours has done, all I want to do is beat my PB of 1.08 that I did in my TC Cortina that I used to run 25 years ago in the monthly Saturday Arvo Sprint Meets at QR, looks like I'm going to smash that PB.
I took my AU XR8 off the road which i had owned since 2009, i had too many regos at once so i built a shed and parked it in the meantime i bought a BF XR8 aggressor...before selling that for a 2016 Mustang GT...this video now has me wanting to get the old girl back on the road... unfortunately funds are way too tight ..the fastest way to fix that is to sell the Mustang GT parked right next to it..but i dont want to do that either i love driving thr stang...but i feel ill love my XR8 on the road more..no where near as fast but a way better drivers car...i could even put a bit of power thru it as well...hmmmm
Definitely hold on to that XR8, even if you can't get her back on the road right now it'll be awesome when you do. I think you have the right idea about adding a bit more power too!
I'm pretty certain that Mal Wood Automotive has a shifter relocation kit ect for E series to convert them to the tr56 six speed. As a fellow E series XR6 owner 👍👍👍👍👍
@rossspec6585 I'm considering doing the hydraulic clutch conversion to my EL XR6 too. Currently, she's off the road with a broken firewall. It's the second time in 11 years, and I converted from the factory t5 to the Tremec TKO 5spd from Mal Wood, once I've saved up the money for it, I'll be taking the car to Warwick for him to fit the hydraulic clutch kit... after I've fixed the firewall that is.
I do know of a man who’s putt a au independent rear end and ef/l Exr6 and they have been known to be guys to put the later model K frames in the front of a e series falcon with modifications maybe this is something that you could look into to make the car handle better and changing the sump or modifying it and at least if you change the front k frame member he can go to better breaks
I agree with you, apparently in NSW they dont do repairable write offs so it goes straight to statutory. It had front end damage and they just bought a new bar skin for it...
My I won't say racecar is a 2000 au falcon i6 sohc the engine is a ea falcon 3.9 Peter Brock bottom end with a vct au XR6 head that's been built from bottom to top mace rods and pistons crow cam and rockers ARP hardware ti performance turbo kit race works spec fuel system and a built t5 5 speed box running haltech ecu coil overs on all 4 corners bf falcon fpv big brakes She's just needs to e caged and will be hitting the tracks Winton Heathcote Calder parkand hopefully Phillip island and spring nats in Shepparton and Wilby raceway
