America is an American folk rock band that originally consisted of Gerry Beckley, Dewey Bunnell and Dan Peek. The three members were barely out of their teens when they became a musical sensation during 1972, scoring No. 1 hits and winning a Grammy for best new musical artist. Their recording success stretched throughout the 1970s; some of the band's best known songs are "A Horse with No Name", "Sister Golden Hair" (both of which reached No. 1), "Ventura Highway", "Tin Man", "Daisy Jane", and "Lonely People". George Martin produced seven of their albums.
The 70s music will put you on another planet that no one will understand unless you have a love of the 70s music. You don't need drugs or alcohol to appreciate the best music ever. God....take me back to the 70s and leave me there....I'll be just fine.

This was a great time to grow up in America, except for the draft and Vietnam. Other bands I loved were Chicago, the Beach Boys, the Beatles, Earth Wind & Fire, Crosby Stills and Nash, the Doobie Brothers, the Guess Who, the Doors and the Association. All 2:44 good music and good musicianship, for sure. I almost forgot Three Dog Night!

That('72) was the last year I lived in Detroit the Motorcity then moved to Phoenix Arizona Aug 13th, 1973 they(America) MUSTA LOVED the Az desert cuzz I seen'em approximately 15-20x's for 5.00$ every single State fair in November it was absolutely beautiful weather n they looked HOTTER then the desert in June! 🖤😎😂😅🌵
I worked in Richmond VA back in the summer of 1995. At a local business park, Insbrook, they a Wednesday night concert series. They are still doing it... but back then it was $5 to see America! Great performers.
The Way to go This album reminds me of the summer of “73. There’s so much to unpack here… it’d take more than a lifetime to articulate. ⏭️ 👈🏼 I got inadvertently struck by an aluminum rocket swing and suffered a traumatic hit to the right side of the head and got held back in 5th grade. I was coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs but, man… But I was saved by an angel… I fall down -sounds like Tom Petty. The rotary dialing in of an analog signal… PoM sounds John Lennonesque/George Harrison-Beatlesque. Sun ☀️ Dancing. I loved American Indian, well, American cowboy movies as a young child and who the natives were and and how they were always troubled by the abuse suffered during the building of this nation. ♍️-born in 1967… Records ARE made to be broken. Way to go - Reminds me of the Summer of ’73. I was 6 and raised by soft rock parents. We never prayed. My father has “CCS”. Cat’s in the Cradle “Syndrome” and I know he misses his long deceased father. His favorite genre of music is soft classic rock of the 60’s and 70’s. Someone stole his rack of cassettes from his pickup one day. He decided to retire eventually. God knows I love him. Indy’s Gatho reminds me of Luna from Mazatlan. Tears - reminds me of my late wife and the tumultuous moments and how puzzled I was at her strong attachment to me and my family. It has a Bee Gees/Eagles vibe. I couldn’t make it to her funeral. We lasted about 5 years. God knows I truly loved her. Everything matters to me and I can’t get over this album. I’m numb with love for my brother, however, we’re polar opposites. This album is an amazing example of the celebration of a life’s potential and a masterpiece. Ode to Mom & Dad, Jen , Rob, and Tracey and Uncle Fred. Be for Buffalo. A for America. Be Tru-to-life and go your way. I just wished I could get him tickets to the past.. This is Grammy/Hall of Fame/ lifetime achievement material. I saw the gleam in Mr. Hopes eyes when I met him. ♍️. Scott. I am my mother’s son. This is the music my dad gave me. 🌞 SoL music
