OK YALL KNOW WHAT? THAT IS TOO PERFECT GENIUS RIGHT HERE!! THIS GUY COULD EASILY ESCAPE THE AUTHORITIES AND THROW ANYBODY OFF. THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER ROBIN WILLIAMS. NEVER. MAY HE REST IN ETERNAL PEACE.
It's a more realistic ending, in which two people are broken apart by their own personal flaws and realize that getting back together would be a major mistake. Yet offers assurance to the children most affected by divorce in that family comes in all shapes and sizes so long as there is still love for them from both parties.
The judge reminds me of that old chairman of the committee in bicentennial man also starring Robin Williams and also directed by Chris Columbus and that chairman denies Robin his rights on being a human when in fact he’s a robot. And says nothing more like this judge does in this film.
Miranda"no more supervised visits, no more court liasons" So from now on Miranda, no more cutting Daniel's hours to see the kids? You going to be nicer to him? Also get some counseling for yourself?
Honestly: I'm glad that they went with this ending. To me while it ends with an uplifting tone, there is still room for the audience to make up their own mind as to what happened down the road for Daniel, Miranda and the kids: did Daniel and Miranda make amends and get back together or, after much soul searching and another long talk, realize it was best for them to remain apart but be on good terms with each other.
As a child I didn’t understand what “by the looks of you that water is so cold” meant. As an adult I burst out laughing when he wrapped it waist with the towel to hide his shrivellage 😂😂😂

The whole "loser" comment from Stu about Daniel was out of line. But you have to remember it was probably Miranda who bad-mouthed him. If Daniel had started seeing another woman he probably would've bad-mouthed Miranda and she would've called Miranda that "psycho ***** who took Daniel's kids away".
Great contrast between Robin Williams and Pierce Brosnan's characters. The former, a devoted father who wants to be everyone's buddy, bit of a layabout when it comes to work, takes advantage of and granted for his wife both financially and emotionally. A very bitter scorned ex husband who is insecure and graceless. Then there is Pierce, kind, successful, loving and hardworking. Not to mention confident and sophisticated albeit a bit petty when he's talking about the kids' father.
It’s so weird for me to see Miranda use her phone in the car. I’m glad that we’ve realized the dangers of distracted driving, but I still can’t help but feel a little nervous when I see her on the phone while driving 😂😂😂
