Hello Christine and Josh. I'm glad to see that y'all are back. I got a challenge video request for y'all. The challenge video is for Will to do with y'all as well
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed the video!! I love creating content & letting people see a glimpse of what a PhD life is like (but it’s just a glimpse into the work we do - as you know!)🫶🏻 That’s awesome that you’re also in biology 🧬 & yes it worked 🥹 - Christine
@@ChristineandJosh keep creating!! it's super interesting to see how you balance work/life, im early in my PhD journey so you're giving me lots of inspo! congrats on the experiment working!! 🧪
It was VERY enjoyable to watch. :) I still have to do my videos too. This is a baby race compared to our 21K elevation run. hahaha. That is when we sit there and say "WTF are we doing???"
Yes!! We love having Sunday mornings to be present with everyone and it’s been such a great experience to have a common hobby/goal to work towards 🥹 we are in this together and holding each other accountable 🫶🏻
Dang that food looks so good! Excellent video! Do you ever have left over smoothies and if so what do you do with it, I know that sounds stupid. Will it hold up in the fridge until the next day or do you freeze it? Thanks
Thank you 🥹 that’s a really good question!! Sometimes if we can’t finish the smoothie or have left overs from making a big batch, we typically store it in the fridge and drink it later in the day or the following day! It usually does not taste great after a couple of hours but because we put a lot of good ingredients in it, we usually will just chug the drink! We would recommend freezing it though so that the taste/texture holds up! We hope that answers your question 🫶🏻☺️
Loved seeing a bit of your lab work, huge slay! I am an RA (just finished my BA and honours degree at uni in Australia. Hope you got the results you wanted hahah !
I'm guessing the whipped cream pies were Christine's idea. Josh seems scared of the mess during the whole video, and Christine is so happy even when she gets pied!
You guys should do a part two, because Josh was way too nice! @5:50 when Christine says "not Alberta!" - I feel like she wanted him to slam the pie in her face! She even looked at the pie like "Come on babe, go for it!"
How are you finding your energy levels doing a PhD and 75 day hard, do you find that you are increasing your caffeine levels at all? Is it changing the way you feel toward your days spent in the lab at all?
Great questions!!! Initially, it was difficult to manage 6 days of working out + lab work for the first two weeks, but I’ve been prioritizing sleep (minimum 7-8 hours) so it’s been helping with my energy levels. As for caffeine, I’ve never been much of a caffeine addict but one sweet coffee a day is my maximum (I am a slow coffee drinker so it takes the whole day for me to finish it + I put it in my Stanley mug so it is kept cold all day)! Long lab days + 75hard (modified version) hasn’t affected my lab work because I’ve always done some of the things on the 75 list (reading, 4 days of working out, drinking water etc) but now there’s just a few more to check mark off - which is why josh and I decided to do a modified 75 hard. Always do what works best for you, for your schedule/life. I hope this answers all of your questions 🫶🏻 ps check out the 75 hard video, I explain a lot about my energy levels + doing the challenge in the video! - Christine ☺️❤️
