Always look forward to your videos. Good news on the job and take care of yourselves. Hope you have not been caught up in the terrible flooding from Helene.
I just bought a 1925 year old 3400sqft home in a small 8500 population city in central New York. It needs a lot of work. The economy has hindered my efforts & plans, but I’m picking away at it. I’m 70 years old, .& this has been on my dream list since I was an adolescent. Long story but I have been working hard to get here. It has many of the features I wanted. I am looking forward to the economy to be restored by Kamala so I may get started in earnest on it. I love the portico entrance, on this home you’re showing. I love when the original features can be replicated when needed. I love the doors too.i love those side porticos. I have four exterior doors. I open them for gorgeous breezes. Yes! I have paneling & builtin china closet. Pocket doors. I love the info of the lathe & plaster, that’s all I knew, I’ll have to listen to your info on the rest of it a few times to remember the rest of it….my floors are a mess. Nice butlers pantry! How big is it? It looks bigger inside than out.
Robin, Congratulations on your new old home! I don't know a lot about the home in the video because it belongs to our neighbors. We hope to get back over there soon to film a follow up episode.
Congratulations on your new job, Mike! You both look so much happier! I'm sorry to hear about the retinal tear but I'm glad it is fixed and you're on the mend ❤ The door looks great!
Retinal tears are no joke. I’m glad you caught yours in time. This happened to me in 2009. It happened in a Friday night, but I waited until Monday morning to call an optometrist because I was out of state over the weekend. They got me in that day, and I got laser surgery that afternoon. How amazing! Later, I spoke to another person who did not go to an optometrist until it was too late. Her field of vision was greatly reduced and unrepairable.
Thank goodness you went to your eye doctor. Glad the laser surgery was successful. Congratulations on your new job! I’m sure this will be the right fit for you. Keep the stress level down and keep the videos coming. Take care to both of you.😊
How exciting! A new and better job! Congratulations! This is super news! 🎉 👏🥳 I am looking forward to more content. Perhaps Jeannie can do some more baking videos, too?? I'm glad your retina got caught in time to repair it. How scary. You're very welcome for the cacti! 🌵 🌞 Talk soon ! Take care, and God Bless! Belle in AZ ❤😊
Hooray! No more life of Job, hopefully! Did they shine the strongest light known to man into your eye to fix it? That's what they did to remove my cataracts. They offered me meds to relax and I told them, "Let's wait and see." I usually don't have a problem keeping my eyes open for drops or contacts but that light...Whew! Yes, drugs, please! lol
I was dialated, then anesthetized, then re-dialated, subjected to the light repeatedly, then finally the laser beam. I didn't know that eyes could feel pain!
My husband had a retina tear also. Two years after he had to have cateracs removed in that eye which is common after a tear so watch for that. Congrats on the new job!
Congratulations on your new job! It was long in coming. Does that mean no more school? 🤔 😊 It's scary to hear about your eye, especially when you always wear eye protection. You were lucky to catch it when you did. Did the ophthalmologist say anything about cataracts or how this might affect them?
Yay! Congratulations on the new job, Mike! Happy its a better fit for you! Sorry to hear about your eye issues, but so happy you got it fixed! Thats for the update and the information!
Hi Mike and Jeanie! I am absolutely thrilled for you!! Finally getting a good job!! You’ve had to search for such a long time! Is it going to be in TV engineering again or what? I know this must be such a relief for you! But I hope you’ll still have time to work on your stereo tube amps since you seem to enjoy that! The door looks great. Glad you’ve got that chore marked off the list. Hope you’ve made some progress on the HVAC too! Best, Jan (by the way, I’ve had the same eye problem, once in each eye, and the laser treatment. My eye filled up with blood the second time. It was like looking through a forest of seaweed. It did eventually fade away,as you said. I’m glad you had yours treated quickly and I hope your vision doesn’t take too long to clear up. ❤️
Jan, thank you for the encouragement. Some days I wish I could just flush it out and start fresh, but we have to let it heal in its own time. I'm glad you got your vision back to normal! 💖 I'm working in radio this time, same idea but without pictures. :-)
