How to repair and maintain a classic Mercedes-Benz W140 & W126.I am a classic Mercedes-Benz enthusiast not a professional mechanic. I just started working on vehicles a few years ago when I purchased my W140 and then my W126. I documented all the work to have a reference video so that when I get another vehicle I would have it. I benefited greatly from online forms and especially You tube videos, most of them produced by amateurs like myself. So I decided to edit some of my very long and tedious videos down to just the processes needed to complete the job. WARNING working on vehicles can be dangerous so, proceed with caution. You should always refer to the service manual for proper processors and safety guild lines.
Note all part numbers and technical data are for my vehicles. A W140 1999 S420 (Orson Welles) and W126 1988 420 SEL (Blue Boy).
Your work is excellent, you have mastery, and it is very light. Your explanation reached the heart and mind quickly. Thank you, dear. Keep going. We need you and your innovations, my dear. Your little brother from Saudi Arabia.❤
Hello, very clear video....I have a question ....I have to replace my inner wheel arches, left & right. I'm having difficulty finding the replacement parts. Any idea where I might get them..??? Bill
Interesting choice to fix this super common problem! I also have a (facelift) W140 with the 3-piece bar in back, and it had the same issues as yours.... I decided to wholesale replace ALL the components with new ones. The L & R lamps were available from ULO (oem), and the Center section was a Genuine mercedes part (wasn't NLA a few years ago). The result is just as stunning and beautiful as you would expect! Although it did cost me between $6-700 in total! Also, genuine Mercedes parts constantly are going "NLA" and then comping back for a production run all the time. You really just have to keep checking periodically to see if they are available!~
Did you ever get the vibration out after replacing the engine and tranny mounts? Man - you have the patience of Jobe! I have the same year and mileage but 3.2L inline 6, and after watching three of your videos, I am beginning to think that it may be the way to go. My lumar support went out too, years ago, and I honestly don't miss it. Great videos - I'm subbing.
Thanks for the Sub. New Trans mount did not do anything, but engine mounts helped a little. I also replaced Vac lines. In spring I will replace the spark plugs and see how that goes.

Hello Mr KA Benz, I have a 97 s320 myself. I just recently sourced a fully remanufactured 722.605 was quite pricey, now with a little over 2200kms on it I’m experiencing almost a slip around 70-90km/h. Would this be the 3-4 or 4-5 shift solenoid?
Shift points vary on acceleration. Hard will be high and soft will be low. You can reset you TCU (transmission shift points). Link to video .Also check ATF level. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_9v5qW48tto.html
That was very helpful. I'm going to change battery soon as I had left it parked for a week and it died. How the key remote doesn't work. Will the resetting still work
Excuse me sir Can you help in one thing please I have W140 /1998 coupe CL500 I was searching for the Technical Manual , but I didn’t got it. If you can tell me from where I can get as a catalog or cd or pdf or paper copy. God bless you and your family
