It's Mid August. My Bonnie plants are 4ft high. Pruned, fertilized 3 times during the summer. Stocks are thick. But tied to round wire cages. Tomatoes big as your fists! Slice nicely and tasty too. 50 tomatoes off one plant 47 off the other. Pruning lower braches off. So the tops will keep producing to the big frost. Shawn from Indiana.

I only had one pepper plant survive in Zone 9A this year. I think I need to plant earlier. Do you have any particular varieties that you recommend?

I'm wondering if it was due to their poverty (and poor values/boundaries. How upsetting!!!! We get to know our chickens, too. 😥 Do you think at livestock guardian dog would help?

Never say never ,my lohmann Brown (/french purchased a load for battery farms and called the Institute de Selection hence isa) all isa browns are actually Lohmann Browns,which is the origins name ,it is german created hybrid high egg production about 320 a year. Anyway ,back to one of my Lohmanns ,she is absolutely broody ,I have no rooster nor do I want one ,she is sitting on unfertilised eggs,she did lay an egg today which she hasn’t done for weeks ,so hopefully she is getting out of her hormonal phase

You forgot to mention why are you doing this. If you have a garden and able to plant many many plants then go ahead and trim the suckers and replant them. But if you are growing couple plants in a planter then do not trim the suckers, tomatoes come from the suckers in addition to the main stem, so keep the suckers and enjoy more tomatoes

Unfortunately this lady can't distinguish melon and cucumber plant. This is a melon plant NOT cucumber.. You can tell by leaves shape.
@AudreysLittleFarm

My apologies, it is an Armenian Cucumber, which I know is technically a melon, but tastes like a cucumber. But the process of pruning and each plant part is exactly the same for a cucumber plant.

Thought about planting new/replacement crops because nothing has really produced this summer so far. It's been so hot, too. Even with shade cloth and careful eye on moisture levels, I'm just not getting any yield this year. Maybe plant a cover crop and call it good?

I'm in Fresno and this is my first year not pruning. So far my plants seem much happier all around. Previously I've thought we can only grow cherry tomatoes because of our climate, but now I'm thinking that letting them keep all their branches and leaves might make all the difference. We shall see! ~Audrey
