Great uniforms. 2nd class drill, to put it politely. Shabby dressing leading to 'crooked lines' of soldiers; hands and feet do not all rise and fall to the same elevation when marching, or at precisely the same time, leading to poor visuals on-march visuals; chin elevations not exactly the same; the Brit Army has obviously not learnt how to implant speakers in the ranks with minutely different times of reception, so that the everybody receives a command at precisely the same time; etc etc. The Guards once had the best drill in the world. Now they are way wayyy down.
Part of me is relived that she didn’t have to experience what came after. If In fact the fire did reach them and burn them, then with the buildings collapsing afterwards. In a way she was spared from being conscious through those horrors. If I were in that situation and couldn’t get out. I think that would be the best way to go. I wouldn’t want to be awake for the rest of that nightmare. 😢 RIP.
