Welcome to Show Me the Hawgs! In 2019, I started this channel to share my love of fishing with anyone willing to watch. With my friend Billy, our goal in creating fishing videos is two fold: educate our viewers about fishing and entertain you along the way. We make various styles of videos like rig, knot, and gear tutorials, bait and lure tests, and demonstrating various methods of catching many species. Basically, if it swims, we'll figure out a way to catch it. We target gamefish such as catfish, bass, bluegill and other sunfish, crappie, trout, walleye, and paddlefish. Don't be surprised if you find us targeting some sharks! We also target less popular fish like gar, carp, drum, and buffalo. Our methods cover just about everything to include conventional tackle, fly fishing, bowfishing and fishing off the bank, out of a boat, and off kayaks and canoes. In the end, we hope you come away from our channel more knowledgeable and inspired to get out there and catch fish of your own!
I seen a guy surf fishing with worms. He used some kind of thread to wrap the worm after sliding it onto the hook. Seemed to really keep the worm on there.
Just wanted to say that I’m a new fisherman and I’ve tried a bunch of different things with varying levels of success. I did everything in your video and instantly found success. First 3 casts I pulled up a fish each time! Just wanted to thank you for helping new fisherman like me! You got yourself a new subscriber :)
I was fishing yesterday using something similar (honey worm) and no lies I hooked into a 10+ lb catfish. Dang thing snapped my ultralight rod in half. Really bummed me out, was my favorite rod for panfish and trout.
Make sure the line isn’t curled or has kinks in it. Cut the end with a knife so the tip is as thin as possible. Cutting the end with a pair of pliers can flatten the tip making it more difficult to thread. As you thread the line through, twist it between your fingers until it pops out the other side. Hope this helps.
Well, unfortunately the 6th street dam was too insane to fish. I tried by the fish ladder for about an hour but nothing was happening. The Grand was just too high and fast when I went there. A total bummer cause I love fishing that spot.
Nice Video. I am presently getting away from Berkley Gulp. They are too fragile and not worth the expense. Yes they do work great but not worth it. I now use ZMAN with a little procure juice, I find Zman work just as good and last 10 times longer.
I've used this for trout with a Z-Man 1/16 flashback the Barely one onch Mino all day fun. I've even used the 1/8 ounce flashback and the 2inch black and white mino. I'm going to try it alone next time. Nice video
I use old-fashioned oats, creamed corn, maybe a little diced fruit (peaches are nice). Enough moisture to let it pack well on the feeder. You might look into the standard-for-carp-fishing hair rig…. Increases hookups and safer for the fish.
@@noahgonefishing23 gotcha. I haven’t tried for big ones this year. Tried for channels once or twice. Might get out there for some of our flatheaded friends soon now that we’re on this side of the spawn.
@@BratFam the creek is tucked back there passed lake 33. Follow the one way road all the way back into the tree line. There's a little parking area with a couple of short trails that lead to the creek. Normally, the creek is shallow enough to wade. It's a nice stretch with good sunfish and small bass and cats. There's a lot of carp back there too.
