Zoe defeated the voodoo queen, brought back a man who turned into ashes and attached an enchanted tongue back, but was unfortunately killed during the war.. She deserved to be there..
This is my favourite scene in ahs coven. It's so tightly scripted, and perfectly staged. It adds so much to the mythology of the season, and really sets up the character arcs for both Fiona (as Anna Lee's wayward successor) and Cordelia (A true inheritor of Anna Lee's legacy).
As important as this scene is I never understood it. Fiona has the power of Resurgence so she could have brought her back to life. Perhaps, she didn’t want Madison to tell but more likely she didn’t want everyone to know who she thought the next supreme was and the constant fear of Madison killing her unwillingly hanging over her head.
I feel very stupid. This entire time since it aired I thought Fiona was taking pills because she devolved into addiction. I’m realizing now she was in so much pain so that’s why she was stealing painkillers from the hospital act. She was dying like the supreme before her. Well, she does make the addictions look easy with her attitude; she’s vicious. But so many clues were dropped like her seeking immortality to stay young and other things.
No however. This was the perfect revenge. After all, for Jafar's father to utter those words, even if under a spell, was a humiliation worse than death. And he also died thinking things he didn't want to think and feeling feelings he didn't want to feel. And this is terrible for a person who puts vanity, arrogance and ego before life. Because Jafar's father wanted two things: to deny Jafar what he wanted and to die with dignity. And he failed in every sense. And it's fitting that he didn't live to see Jafar's defeat. And Jafar's father proved that he fully deserved everything that happened to him (and it's very karmic that he died the same way he tried to kill Jafar), as he destroyed Jafar's childhood and innocence without repentance. Because he is an egomaniac who does what he wants without accepting the consequences. And in this scene he says that power is mercy only because he is a hypocrite, not because is changed. And when he tells Jafar that he had to earn his love, if you read between the lines, what he means by those words is that since, he hadn't earned his love, this gave him the right to kill him. This is because Jafar's father, even when he says wise things, applies them in a distorted way. Jafar is evil also because he is no longer capable of love, whereas his father is evil DESPITE being capable of love. This is the distorted nature of Jafar's father: he is a saint with those who have earned his love, but at the same time he is a demon with those who have not earned it. When he has control of the situation he is a monster, but when he doesn't have the upper hand he apes moralisms.
