Mr Laguana was my teacher and Teresa was my classmate😅❤We all went to St Jude church. Music and Guam pride has always been common ground. Bula Guinaiya 💯😎🙌🏾
It’s a great narrative until you ask people why they are Christian, and how decolonization would also include ditching the Catholic/Christian indoctrination. 😢
Huh? Ok...I am a man of guahan! I believe that our people still try to keep our culture alive through song and dance. But if it was not for the US keeping us safe from all these threats. What do you think would happen to the island of Guahan? The Japanese would have eradicated our people. The Chinese want to do the same in this day and age. So are you gonna tell me that the American forces protecting our island should leave? How many people in you're production are in or working for the US military? Umbre lai. Stop trying to get rid of our protector just cause you're family wants to get their land and sell it to the highest foreign byers 😂. It is the way the people are here. They say they want their land back. Because they want to make money. Not for their inheritance. Biba chamorro!!! Biba USA!!!
I bet you enjoy using the white man's money, don't you boy? Try trading and bartering for goods and services the way our ancestors did. See if that keeps the lights on and your belly full.
As a Chamoru who lives and breathes our culture every day w/o shame or fear of reprisal. This has to be the dumbest argument for independence I have ever heard. Where is Guam going to be without American support when another superpower moves in for strategic advantage? I'll tell you where, right back to singing Uncle Sam, my Dear Uncle Sam, won't you please come back to Guam. You stupid Chamorro's.😮
I have to agree with my dad. As someone who is also Chamoru who now lives in Hawaii I will admit I use to resent white people and america because of what happened with the illegal overthrow of Hawaii back in the day etc etc. But Ive since changed because I understand that being resentful doesnt accomplish much and will only further divide us as human beings. Heres the cold hearted reality…. AMERICA AINT GOING NO WHERE!! Protests and making videos like this aint gonna do much. If you want change in Guam put the right people in the right places (positions in goverment). To blame other cultures for your lack of inspiration is just dumb, that sounds more like a YOU PROBLEM. You gotta learn to adapt or get left behind
Unfortunately Guam will always be controlled by world powers. Until Guam can defend itself then maybe but that is unrealistic. If it wasn't for the U.S. we would have Japanese rule. Even if Japan and America wasn't trying to control the land then it would be another. We have to make the most of it. Guam in my opinion would turn into a third world living condition if America leaves. Just think how many people rely on Government assistance. The reality is what it is. Maybe one day Guam will be on its own. I enjoyed the song and the message. Smooooooooth......
@@independentguahan1785What exactly is the end state of the de-colonization movement on Guam? I am genuinely curious because what I've found online is vague.
@@mattacosta6475 For Independent Guåhan, our purpose is simply to educate about the possibilities for Guam should it become independent or have more autonomy. This work is part of the educational outreach supported by the Guam Commission on Decolonization, where there are also groups that educate the public on the benefits of Guam becoming a freely associated entity or integrated and a state of the US.
Awesome my family it's hard to speak up the Americans just made a fool of our people I hope before I leave this island things get better for our children and the whole world finds peace so we can take back our Home. Love you my family keep up the good work and may the good LORD BLESS us all take care till we meet ❤❤
Please forgive my ignorance about this tragedy but I have a question. In reading the notes in your description bar it says that the U.S. earmarks monies for Guam that is separate from the reparations that is being asked for. My question is why is America earmarking monies for Guam in the first place? Is it a form of humanity aid? I am confused. Can you elaborate on those funds? Thanks.
