Hello. My name is Willie "Bee" Jordan Jr. I'm a Chicagoan from the West Side of the city. I'm a unapologetic liberal and a jazz fanatic. This channel is dedicated to the promotion of jazz and progressive ideas. Here, you will hear, what is in my opinion, the greatest music that has ever been made. I hope that you enjoy the music that we feature here. Boppish regards.
This song changed my life when my borther got it from the library I was in 3rd grade and it sounded so good I used to listen to it all the time and loved it thank you so much used to fall asleep htinking about it and dreaming about jazz!!!
Stay focused on what's lovely and what is good. I remember that strong community where we used to lean on each other and listen to good old music. Take it back home. ❤
2 of the most fantastic female "scatters" sharing the stage! Spontaneous flow of unbridled talent. - Miss Carmen Mcrae and Miss Betty Carter ! What a treat for the audience !
So, I walk a little too fast and I drive a little too fast And I'm reckless, it's true, but what else can you do At the end of a love affair? So, I talk a little too much and I laugh a little too much And my voice is too loud when I'm out in a crowd So that people are apt to stare Do they know, do they care, that it's only that I'm lonely And low as can be? And the smile on my face isn't really a smile at all! So, I smoke a little too much and I drink a little too much And the tunes I request are not always the best But the ones where the trumpets blare! So, I go at a maddening pace I pretend that it's taking his place But what else can you do, at the end of love? What else can you do at the end of love? So, I smoke just a little too much and I drink a little too much And the tunes I request are not always the best But the ones where the trumpets blare! So I go at this maddening pace I pretend that it's taking his place But what else can you do, at the end of a love affair?
Well you are entitled to your opinion which I respect. If you want a version filled with pain Billie Holiday does it for me. Porgy and Bess is an opera composed by George Gershwin. There are many outstanding performances by clasically trained opera singers who are able to sing, without the aid of amplification accompanied by a full symphony orchestra, who sing with both emotion, nuance, whilst remaining true to the quality of the Gershwin score. I personally love both opera and jazz, fiully understand that the essence of jazz, whether vocal or instrumental is improvisation. Opinions are subjective. Chaka Khan and Nina Simone overuse riffs and runs, pure affectation, and in so doing destroy the flow of a beautiful melody. Ella Fitzgerland performed I Love you Porgy live in Rome 1959 as a jazz singer she improvised, employing the use of riffs and runs but limiting their use in order not to destroy the flow of the melody. Gershwin composed the opera and cast classically trained opera singers in the first performance 1935.
