Just purchased a custom BlackWidow bow because of your videos. I had them send a demo PSA and it was nice but I went with the PCHX. It’s going to be a while before I get it but can’t wait. Currently shooting a 70’s Bear Kodiak Magnum 52”. Anyway I love the videos you and your husband have put out. You both are excellent shots.
How does the 3 degree helical worked for you? It looks like the sweet spot between drag and stabilization. I´m looking for an EZ-Fletch-style jig but I don´t know what angle should I use.
Tip for checking carbon arrows. Always give them a flex and bend. This will reveal even hidden cracks you may not feel or see. Sometimes you can even hear it when you flex it.
I am very impressed with how technical you are. Most people don’t understand a fraction of this stuff but you have shown knowledge and interest in learning the fine details of trad archery. Very cool.
Damn a black widow recurve and Iron Will broadheads. You young lady know how to roll first class in the traditional archery world. Congrats. Glad to hear you talking about the importance of sharpening. Razor sharp broadheads are a make or break deal when archery hunting and especially with low poundage traditional gear.
Try taking that quiver off and see how your bow shots… you have that quiver placed right where the limbs works in the fade out. That can really hinder performance and accuracy
You mentioned Paul Schafer....have you ever thought of trying one of his custom silver-tip bows? I've heard they're great, but I've never met anyone who had one. Can't go wrong with a BW, but just curious if you've tried one of Schafer's.
What a beautiful place for a 3D shoot! The bigfoot 3D target was hilarious. And that was really nice shooting from both of you. I tell you, at 46#, that BW recurve is still whipping those arrows down range at a pretty good speed. Looked really comfortable for you to shoot, too. There are so many beautiful bows out there, but my BW recurve will always be my favorite. Thanks for sharing this with us!
Hi, do you use lighted nocks for hunting? If so, do you use them in the rain? Many people said that lighted nocks were unreliable, they said lighted nocks sometimes lighted up and sometimes didn't, and they also said lighted nocks introduced shooting errors. Do you think they work reliably?
I was at this shoot. Twin Oaks Bowhunters do an amazing job and have a great setup. One of the best trad shoots I've been to over the past 20 years. We hammock camped, shot two rounds and had a great time. Will definately be back next year. Gonna take a few days off to have more time to shoot, camp, and fellowship with some good people from around the southeast US.
I'm just getting into traditional archery. I ordered a Black widow PSA X 45@28. Why did you choose the 150 over the 125 IW heads ? I just ordered 6 IW 125s, and I am hoping they get the job done, of course, if I do my part.
I know you're working for Bill, but have you tested the cutthroat 3 blade. I shoot s200, s200 wide, and the cutthroat 3blades 200. I dont feel I can shoot good enough to see differences. But I would love to see how the cutthroat flies with your findings in comparison.
Great shooting that’s for sure!!! It definitely seemed to trend to the right if you had to be picky. Which is neat when you consider you said it shot weak a bit. Interesting stuff!!!!
I'm 27.5 DL 46# shootin 28" ctc with 225 up front. Last weekend I started anchoring with my index to the corner of my mouth looking down the top of my arrow, changed my point on from 20 to 30
With any bow hunt from ground level, but especially with traditional equipment, you have to account for the target dipping down at the sound of your string before the arrow gets there. Aim a little lower than you think you'll need and the target will typically be right on the money by the time the arrow gets there. I'm always amazed how fast they react. Really great hunt!!
Great video, thanks for sharing. And if you ever wonder about archery looks in Germany, exactly like this 😅. The birds here sounds a bit different. If you ever visit Germany, give me a call. Cheers
