For many, catching a glimpse of an original 1978 X-Wing is like stepping into a time machine! Discovering that the wings actually expand and collapse is a delightful surprise. The classic landing gear, the fixed R2-D2 unit, and even the iconic KX-9 cannons-each detail is a nostalgic revelation. Thanks for watching and commenting
Great video, buddy. You have a new sub. I love vintage Star Wars. I am currently trying to put my old X-Wing back together. It is nice to find another UK Channel. There are not many of us flying the flag. Keep up the good work, and stay safe.
I have to say, this is really a great toy. Newer more accurate Kenner/Hasbro X-wings exist but they are big and complicated. This one was great and I still love it to this day.
I tried a few batteries but I couldn't get anything to light-up nor make noise. I wasn't lying when I said it was one of the first Star Wars vehicles a lot of us ever received
My brother had one of these when we first moved to the United States. He didn't know what Star Wars was back then, but he loved this toy. Thank you for sharing and filling me with great memories ❤
I remember my grandpa buying me an X-wing that went together exactly like this one. It's a little bigger, and all the proportions and colors are true to the original film, and I swear I ran through that house every day "shooting tie fighters". And later, he bought me a tie fighter, accurate to the same scale as the X-wing, and with detachable solar panels. You can imagine the kind of fun that was. I keep those toys to this day, and I will probably keep them into perpetuity. I miss him.
These videos serve two purposes: to educate those who never got the chance to experience these toys because they were born after they were released, and to give the rest of us a nostalgic trip down memory lane. Thank you so much for watching and commenting. I hope you find other videos in my library that bring back cherished memories for you
thanks for watching and commenting! I think there are a few variations of X-Wing Luke out there, so you're not getting the exact same figure, always room for more
@mcklown Hey guy, no need to feel like you were misled into watching the video. Instead, be proud that you already know all those cool details! Many people don't know that it was released in 1978 or was one of the first ships released. Many aren't aware that the cannons are removable and are called KX-9, or that R2 isn't removable. They might not know the wings expand and collapse or that there's landing gear. Those are the hidden gems! You might enjoy checking out some of my Star Wars interviews; there are plenty of secrets in those that you might not know about ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-H8O6Bf8Mkr4.html
Ah, I long for the good ol' days when the thought of greedo shooting first was the most ridiculous thing they could do to my beloved Star Wars. you know, instead of some black lesbian throwing ninja stars first.
This second wave of action figures really solidified Star Wars collecting for me. I was so surprised to see four figures from the Cantina Scene, I remember thinking how cool it was that we got some of those characters and I always looked forward to what was next!
That case is in beautiful shape! Mine fell apart from almost daily use as a kid. I kept the trays and the insert picture from the lid though. Framed the picture. The trays are great too for displaying figures with the pegs on the back. These versions of Leia and Han are my favorites too. Love the color and patterns on Leias outfit here especially with the cloak. Lobot was instrumental to Lando's plan to rescue his friends. Underrated character. The Bespin Guards are really interesting figures when their paint is good. Lots of detail. Ugnaughts were cool. Kinda villians to me as a kid as I was upset with them for trying to melt down my beloved C3PO. He's best of the box in this video though because he's complete.
I love these 'What's in the box' videos! Some of the best ones about toys on RU-vid. C3PO is best of any box in my view. Has always been my favorite character and figure. He was the first one I got as a kid.
