I am Scandinavia, and I can assure you that HIV/AIDS is not a big thing here. When someone says that they have HIV, we just shrug shoulders. Maybe we ask if they are in treatment (which people are). As a healthcare professional, we are aware when dealing with blood. But it is just not a big thing. But you can’t change a country’s status for the better if you can’t talk about if. As long as there is stigma or people feeling stigmatized you will not go anywhere. The worst type of people are those who either ignore symptoms or ignore the diagnosis. Because they will just infect others who infect others who infect others.
Why on earth will you not use the treatment provided for a life threatening disease??? Not telling I could perhaps understand. But not using the provided treatment is ….. madness!
There need to be programs for students on alcoholism,drug abuse,early pregnancy,hiv AIDS etc....most students go to tertiary institutions when they are very naive and the have no one to teach them. Some of these courses are also very tough frustrating the students esp high performers...i wish there can be people employed in the academics department to monitor students performance,once they see a degression they engage the student if it persists the parents or guardians. We are losing too many young lives
