This should go viral. The oppression these families have gone through is untold. They should be given their land back together with damages for the trauma that they've been through.
Guys thank you so much for this series. You're doing us Africans proud. I'm watching from Uganda and all I can say whats happening in Kenya from your first 2 episodes is happening in Uganda as well. Good job on highlighting these issues. We need more such episodes please.
A privileged family holding onto land illegally while families have been rendered destitute denying them of their history & rights💔 how heartbreaking! All this family needs is a sober judge to do the right thing. The evidence is in plain sight. In the words of Martin Luther King “the arch of the moral universe is long but it bends towards justice”… my prayer for this family 🙏🏾 Thanks for speaking up on this case… journalism that matters & that can expedite results for a family with little resources.
It's stupid if you think about it. A rich politician grabs land and leaves people poor, and doesn't use the land to do anything meaningful. Kenyan politicians are a wierd lot
watched this with tears welling in my eyes i have to watch this........ JOHN ALLAN NAMU God grant you strength. dont ever stop being a voice for the voiceless. go bro....
My highlight of this episode is when the former Chief, Mr. Wambugu says you can't satisfy the greed of Man. Anyone who knows this Colonial families- ( so called old money) will tell you they are filthy rich with properties all over but they have insatiable GREED. May we be inspired by Chief Wambugu and always speak truth to power ✊.
31:02 she says she brewed beer for 40years but in the translation it says she brewed illicit beer. It is sad to see we have accepted to call our traditional beer illicit just because the government calls it that. The traditional beer was outlawed by British colonialists so thatbthey could introduce Tusker a british company dubed Kenyan. Wait, Kenya is also British, incase we are forgetting that the country was also created by the British colonizers😅😅
This is a big problem in Central. Its usually police or a politician in the MOi, Kenyatta era, they would chase away legal land owners, and gift themselves the land. Now their grandchildren continue to own cursed land oblivious to their burglar lineage.
What the two families are being forced to undergo is heartbreaking. The grabbers are not even living on that land! Talk of greed! Justice system has also failed these families. Never give up David 💪💪
Where is BBC, they should air this if it won't be aired in Kenya mainstream TV. This so cruel! Those who were actually entrusted to protect people after the Independence they committed so much atrocities. Sic!
This is a historical injustice and it is evident even here in Western Kenya, i would urge David Kemengere to hold on tight and pursue all legal avenues to ensure they secure their ancestral land/home. I am also facing a similar case in Kakamega and i have put a good case and surely it may take long but definitely justice will prevail. Viva!
So a judge ruled in favour of this family, then mysteriously changed her mind (after money changed hands), and the Judicial Service Commission did not take stern action against her? May our good Lord give justice and comfort to this family. This is the saddest thing I have watched this year 😞
You are 😮right, the last speaker. Rule of law in Kenya is profoundly growing thinner and faster. Civil war is brewing if corrupted people will be more louder than less privileged. Law is put in place as a guide, although thugs are more aware that it protects the elite. Ndurere and his brother’s families were overlooked because those in power could grab their land with impunity.
This is so disheartening, how do this people(Gethi's)even sleep at night knowing they are stealing from poor people by faking and killing people for land, this should be showed on national telly🤬🤬🤬🤬 I just hate injustice
As a Scandinavian living on and off in Kenya, I can say that I have never experienced a more messed-up society by corruption than Kenya. It is a disgrace and banana republic justice and a failing judicial system that rules land issues. Very, very embarrassing for Kenya. Very!
I may hold some small hope...if we can align our act together i believe Kenya still has a lot of land...if you have transversed this country you would know that most of the population is concentrated along the railway...maybe one day we can afford the technologies i have seen Israel implement in the desert and prospere ....btw dont we still have an immense water aquifer under lake Turkana....mbona tunalalia maskio but i agree wrongs have to be corrected but with the powers that be and the usual kenyan narrative i cannot say iam optimistic
Sometimes I wonder, how some 'special Kenyan' like maybe less than five people who own 1000s of acres that they don't use. What is the purpose rather than greed? Tell me, what else can you explain?
My friend had land at jogoo road, later he noticed it was grabbed then after deep research he found out the land was owned by a certain company owned by one really powerful person, Rachel ...., guess the other name, sitaki kujipata nimekujiwa
They bought it. Unlike the next generation of politicians who used the mzungu context to grab the land. Most “mzungu” land was grabbed after their sales or gifts to the locals were not respected.
Good journalism for the love of humanity attachement to Land is deep we are born we find it here it shouldnt be anybodys thing placenta is buried here, we also get buried here it is nobodys work
This is very sad.Even the rich who grab dont live in the pieces of land they grab.Yet the destitute who are the real owners could make good use of the land.
Same judge reversing judgement!!! Was there new evidence provided?? Kenya has been heading a very dark path for decades with the issue of land. One day soon, a lot of rich people will pay….I guess they never followed the Arab spring!!
Mc Oundo where is she now ? She is a disgrace to the judicial system ….but she is not alone there are so many like her where greed is their religion , may she pay when karma gets back at her , this I pray .
JUST MUST BE DELIVERED FOR THESE FAMILIES NOW AND BEN GETHIS FAMILY MUST QUIT THE PROPERTY. THEIR LAND MUST BE RETURNED NOW !!!! MUST BE DELIVERED FOR THESE FAMILIES NOW AND BEN GITHES FAMILY MUST QUIT THE PROPERTY. THEIR LAND MUST BE RETURNED NOW !!!!
stolen land can not be legitimized by documents showing it was a gift nor forcefully both parties will never occupy the land you might find the Samburu ending up with it in the end because it might be there ancestral land from day one
Most Kenyans with large swathes of land are in politics or supporting someone high politically. One day it will end. That Gethi land needs to go to the rightful owners.... not the Gethi company.
When will the British give us repatriation? Payback for their murder and slave trade to Europe and Asia. Pay back all the economic advantage they had during colonialism through Kenyans/ East Africans. They should bring back all the art from the british museum that belongs to Africa. Uhuru family and all white settlers should give back the land. How do they own more than 1 million acres of land in Rift Valley and Kericho , not forgetting Karen, Ngong and in Kiambu.
Don't forget, Ardhi house scandal. I was there and heard a govt employee speaking boldly in a room with more than 20 people that he should be paid KSh200k in order to follow up on a case. He was not apologetic and after the call, he handled us as disturbances because he was 'busy with other calls' during work time. Ardhi house on the right office once you climb the entrance, he was a Waria.
@@jonahmuriuki1165all these years you have been voting your own has not helped you people? Funny enough even if election was to be called you still sing “ my thief my choice”.
You hv so much land that's you are not using. Donate it to someone who can make good use of it. We are leaving all of it here. Politics, greed, corruption won't let u leave with it. It remains on earth.... you get buried and life continues. The police, the corrupt, politicians - the greed for land in Kenya makes them kill for it..😢
Title deed are just papers. Hain a value yoyote unless uko 2 dynasties families. They are reason kenyans are poorer and impoverished. Be boycotting them immediately
