Hi Tom. Loved this tutorial. I have two questions: do you still use the pen tool when selecting objects, or has that become a bit redundant with the object select tool? Or do you need to still use the pen tool to create a path? Thanks.
It's never too late Tom ... after 3 years of uploading, but what to do if my home page shows this fantastic video now? Simply amazing! I also like your one more bite!!! I am subscribing now ... lots of learning! Thanx! ❤ Greetings from Karachi, Pakistan!!
Thanks so much, I have the Canon EOS R10 would it be the same approach? Also, if Im shooting video I should be able to see the video real-time on the external monitor correct? Just want to double check. Thank you!
How i can get a direct duplicate from the LCD screen to the Monitor... my monitor does not show anything but the video i'm recording, doesnt show my aperture, shutter or ISO settingsa nd waveforms..... I just get a simple output.
Thanks so much for recording your process! Very entertaining and informative. Will be trying a similar thing with my new knife and some different foods 😁 don't have all those lovely clamps you do but hopefully I'll sus it out! 😘😘
That is a good shirt, I can see why it’s one of your favourites. Those duct shots are awesome. Clever idea! The map was great! Learning a new skill or equipment is a great idea as like you said it gets your creative juices flowing and makes you come up with new ideas you’d never done before, which can branch off into other things. This was an awesome video mate, will deffo be rewatching this for ideas.
I've been trying to connect it to my laptop, but so far, failed miserably. Cables don't work since the camera is not even detected. And wirelesly, I get requested a pin number from de router, which I cannot find. Strange, because in the tutorial the number entered is given by the camera, but that number does not work either. Frustrating😒
Dude, loved your tutorials on the floating knife and donuts! Would be awesome to see more content like that. Specifically if you could go over some of the gear you use, like the Manfrotto articulating arms, clamps, etc… that would be cool!
Just recently started doing still life/product photography and it’s so challenging (but fun!). So your finding your channel is perfect! Watching this video is making me wanna go shoot right now, so that’s what I’m gonna do!
what is that arm you’re using to hold the knife up? can’t find anything to hold knives up well like that. (i shoot a lot of knives/flashlights for work)
Awesome and detailed tutorial, thank you! This was very interesting to watch. Why do you use the path tool and not the masking brush (and Edge sharpening)? Is there a quality difference? Now I'm really inspired to shoot something floating myself.
I am beyond excited to watch this video, I was sat here like "man I really hope he does an editing tutorial I have no idea what all this 'plate' stuff is about" and just as I thought that to myself, you say you are in fact going to do such a video - I immediately stopped the other video to come and watch (fantastic video, just the editing is where I get lost) - You got a sub from me dude thanks for making this content.
I found Canon 24-70mm f2.8 II, to be very bad for product photography. Not sharp enough close up. A tremendous difference with a cheap Canon 100mm f2.8.
Thanks for going through all of this and your channel! I just found you... I've been doing product for a long time however I just started at an agency that's all WFH. So this is fabulous when I'm a bit stumped on something and don't have my colleagues to problem-solve with.
One of the best and most comprehensive tutorials on RU-vid 👏 Amazing tips and great workflow! Thank You 🙏 I would love to see some more product photography and editing videos, maybe something that has a reflective surface like a bottle or reflective label or even a mobile phone 🙏🙏🙏
