I am beyond excited to watch this video, I was sat here like "man I really hope he does an editing tutorial I have no idea what all this 'plate' stuff is about" and just as I thought that to myself, you say you are in fact going to do such a video - I immediately stopped the other video to come and watch (fantastic video, just the editing is where I get lost) - You got a sub from me dude thanks for making this content.

I was way to invested in this video... Im pausing getting some snacks, answering back, laughing, paying close attention bruh 🤦🏾‍♀️. I enjoyed every second of this video .😊 was very natural and relaxing 😌

Loved this and the video before with the shoot. So good to have a photography channel with personality and none of the fake theatre involved. Feels real and genuine

One of the best and most comprehensive tutorials on RU-vid 👏 Amazing tips and great workflow! Thank You 🙏 I would love to see some more product photography and editing videos, maybe something that has a reflective surface like a bottle or reflective label or even a mobile phone 🙏🙏🙏

Gotta have more videos! Learned more from this than hundreds of other videos I’ve watched. And there’s nothing like this in the edc community either, hats off!

This was cool to watch! I used to do product photography for a knife company. Most of it was flat lay, it would have been so cool to do this but I was always pressed for time.

Thanks for going through all of this and your channel! I just found you... I've been doing product for a long time however I just started at an agency that's all WFH. So this is fabulous when I'm a bit stumped on something and don't have my colleagues to problem-solve with.

This was awesome! I learnt more from you in 2 tutorials than I have in hours and hours of other videos. I don’t know if this is your thing but I’m a fibre artist and I’d like to see how to photoshop a textile/tapestry/wall hanging so that I can place that into some room mock ups. Most tutorials are for framed pieces, or straight edge posters with crisp, defined shadows whereas a textile would require a lot more work for the edges and shadowing to look realistic.

Hi Tom! I'm getting into product photography and I loved your videos about it. One thing is having a tutorial about how to do stuff, another is seeing a professional actually doing it. I guess everybody has their struggle to figure out how to shoot stuff correctly and how to edit them in the best way. Seeing a professional going through the same struggle I have every time but pushing through... I can't tell you how inspiring it is. I'd like to see more product photography videos just like this "Donut" series. Keep up the good work, Tom!

Awesome and detailed tutorial, thank you! This was very interesting to watch. Why do you use the path tool and not the masking brush (and Edge sharpening)? Is there a quality difference? Now I'm really inspired to shoot something floating myself.

Hi Tom. Loved this tutorial. I have two questions: do you still use the pen tool when selecting objects, or has that become a bit redundant with the object select tool? Or do you need to still use the pen tool to create a path? Thanks.

@@tommedvedich not so much on the pricing structure cause that’ll come with time but how to go about gaining clients in a new field like products. If that makes sense.

Great stuff, but get yourself a graphic pen. It'll be way easier to use to the pen tool. Thanks for the video! :)

I hate the pen more than anything! I quit using it about 10 years ago. I rarely retouch my own still life anymore so I would never use it anyway : )
