Yikes, I've got the dreaded Tether Tools and Lightroom combo right now haha. It's good to know their are other more reliable tether options, when this one inevitably quits on me it might be time to make the switch!

Why do small objects such as watches, only look sharp when you go above f20, where you can even get ears and hair sharp with portraits when you focus on the face? Small objects you focus on the watch, and the strap is out of focus even at f15. But with a model, you focus on the eye at f9 and even eats and hairs are sharper than the strap of the watch does. What's the explanation for this?

The closer you are to a subject (like a watch), the more DOF you will need (such as f/22). The further away you are (like a person), the less you will need (such as f/8). And it may not be that it's a sharper picture, but the rest of the face being blurry creates the illusion that those hairs are sharper. Hope this helps!

Hey Tom, Does Capture One allow you to set focus on computer? When merging product photography I use EOS Utility so I can focus on multiple depths without bumping the camera. Live mode focusing can be quite blurry when zoomed in on computer though. Thanks!

Hey! I'm not sure, but I think you can. I would prefer to do it on the back of the camera so I can see it more clearly

Great video! Screensharing your Capture One screen in Zoom, so clients joining virtually can see the action, is a useful workflow. How likely is that practice to stay a part of your work once we're back to "normal"? Do you use the Capture One Pilot app?

Yeah it's been a lifesaver! I think when things go back to normal, it may be used from time to time. And I do use Capture Pilot on a 13" iPad when clients are in studio, that way they can do their work and not have to get up every few minutes. Works awesome. I may need to do a video on Pilot!

@@tommedvedich I've used Pilot a couple times for client work and they are impressed with the tech. I show them how to rate the images so by the time we finish the session, I have the top 5 or 10 images (or whatever) to work on and send to them. SOOOOO much better than uploading and sending a ton of images for them to sift through, and then mark their favorites.
