I'm a Software Engineer who's been fascinated by technology for my entire life. I've been teaching programming on RU-vid and in-person since 2013. These days, I upload new programming-adjacent video every once in awhile.
I have this MAC and installed Parallels. I then installed the pre built auto install of Kali Linux. When I downloaded Tor Browser for Linux, I unpacked it and ran the command line install. it said that the OS wasn't supported.
Thank you so much, Noah, I’ve been watching you for almost 10 years and it made me so nostalgic and proud to have seen all of this. You helped me get where I am now, a professional programmer. On a side note, I was in doubt to post this message because the message counter was on 29! Anyway, thanks again, Pogo! ❤
As an update to some VPN stuff. VPNs no longer let you watch Netflix in other countries. They haven’t for the last year. Basically if Netflix detects that your account is trying to access content outside of the locale your billed from, it just doesn’t let you. It’s extra annoying to me because all these brand deals still advertise it like you can.
I program in hypertalk and am currently working on a project to see if a Facebook/twitter clone can actually be done on both software and hardware from 1991. Let's just be honest wouldn't it be cool if you could have a stand alone message system working on a Mac Plus or II series 😎 that has the same features as Facebook and Twitter all done in hypertalk and applescript?
I'm going to graduate soon and work for a company with a big codebase, it freaks me out. Thank you Noah for this video, it reassures me on that. Great work at Google too! Hope you'll be able to do your own thing later. Btw thank you for making my comment appear on the video (even though RU-vid glitched out and I was a banana for some reasons haha)
I have not seen your videos before, but seeing all the people coming back here talking about how you got them started out with writing code is really wholesome!
Woah. This is the re-make I didn't know I needed. Thank you Noah, for showing 10 year old me how to make plugins. It made learning to code for me much easier and more fun. Happy to see your channel survived the years
OMG Noah you appeared on my yt feed after (a bit less than ) 10 years I subbed to your channel. thanks to you I became a computer scientist and now an startup founder!, I'm happy that you made these videos.
First of all Mountain Lion was not my favorite Aqua (I think that award goes to Snow Leopard or Lion, ML introduced too much inconsistent typography and skeuomorphism) but what I will say is Lucida Grande was SO MUCH better as a UI Font than San Francisco Second, I am just dying to know why the Mountain Lion VM was in Spanish??
Haha all of my devices are in Spanish. It’s a great way to practice a language. The modern macOS side was in English because I used a friend’s computer to record this, but the Mountain Lion VM is reused from a previous project, so it’s in Spanish
A lot of memories rolled in when I saw this in my feed. Crazy to think this was how I started. I now have experience in enterprise mobile application development and I'm getting a degree in cybersecurity.
These tutorials give me back so many memories, still remember you having like 2k subs and me being so glad I found your channel because you had so good tutorials. This is where my programming adventure began, and Im now majoring in CS thanks to your tutorials, so thanks a lot for the inspiration man!
You taught me Java and Bukkit and inspired me to pursue Programming and Game Development. Now I'm in my final year of University doing exactly that, and making games just like the young me who watched your videos wanted to. Thank you, Noah.
Can't believe it was this long, just saw my comments on your first video from 9 years ago on how i was not able to configure plugin.yml and i was literally trying to type everything character by character 9 years later finished my CS degree last year and now working as a mobile application developer Really can't imagine where i would be without your videos. Thanks a lot
Holy. Hard to believe 10 years ago i was watching your bukkit plugin coding tutorials for the first time and learning how to code. Thank you for all the hard work you put in! I probably wouldnt be where i am today without those programming tutorials haha!
Noah, this video made me nostalgic. Your Bukkit plugin tutorials brought me to programming world. I remember I watched your episode 1 of Bukkit Plugin series in 2014. I followed it with zero programming knowledge but I got better over time as I followed your series. It was you who developed passion of programming in me. I am now majoring in Computer Science and will be graduating from college next year. Thank you so much. I was feeling de-motivated to code lately but this video reminded me of how I started my journey with you and how far I have come in 9 years. Thank you so much man!
I first started my developer journey just like you by developing Bukkit plugin and I remember I discovered you thanks to your videos about that. I’m glad to see everything you did from there and I hope you’ll accomplish great things in the future
Hey Noah! Probably the first message I send here, I'm also 24 and started development 10 years ago, mainly thanks to Minecraft. You were one of the best content creators regarding Bukkit plugins at the time and helped me in so many ways. I am now a self-employed software developer with great clients and projects, I really have the life I dreamt of having when I was 14, thanks for everything you did!
Awesome video! I learned so much more about Noah and his journey. I’m not a coder but I enjoyed the content very much. Looking forward to the next chapter.
