This video was wonderful! I love all the tips you pass on to us, like your binder storage system, and so much more. Hope all is going well for you, you've been through. Looking forward to your next session.
Thanks Elaine! There was a new video since this one. Here is a link in case you missed it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HQZqvN1hDBk.html
Thanks for letting me know Connie! When I was editing I noticed road noise when I stopped talking. So I think the tip there is to run my mouth more!! LOLOLOLOL
Hi Kathryn and Welcome to My Channel! There is a lot of content on the channel for you to backwatch as you have time! I am in the process of a major Life move that is dragging on and on. So, new content is only coming when I am at the studio in Georgia. But there is light at the end of the move tunnel and I will be back soon!! I don't know if you are on facebook, but there is a page over there also...
Thanks for letting me know Judy - That new Rhode mic I got blocks most of it, as long as I am talking. But, I noticed the road noise picked up when I was quiet. Of course we both know the answer to that problem LOL!!!
@@SeniorSusieStampsBackground noise is just real life going on and I've found that mics don't seem to pick up the background noise as much as the people who make the videos can hear them.
Thank you. I feel a bit like a whupped pup. But I am doing a little better every week. I'm really really looking forward to being through with this move!!!
What a great video to start back with! I love the use of the Ken Oliver products and then you totally went rogue and doodled! I love how that technique turned out! Both of the cards were beauty and very artsy!! And you’re right - having all of your stuff in boxes is no fun! I packed my whole craftroom last weekend and won’t see that stuff again til the end of February after I move. How many more trips til you’re in GA full time?
Hey Maureen - These were fun weren't they. When I first started, I thought - What are you doing here?! But it all worked out in the end. And I would be hard pressed to pick a fave on these 2. They are still sitting here on my desk, waiting for inspiration on what to write in them. Oh the move! Well, here is the update - we met with the realtor Monday and got the farm listing started. There is another trip to GA on the schedule mid-Feb. And the farm auction is scheduled for mid-April. The donkeys are being picked up this Friday. And we have a lot of cleaning still to do before farm pics are taken in a couple of weeks. The list seems never-ending, but there is slow progress every week.
Oh no, my condolences on the loss of your sister. My God, give you strength and guide you through this sad time, sending big hugs and love to you and your family❤
Hello Julia. Heartfelt sympathy to you on the loss of your sister.😢 I lost my dad this week so I know how hard it is for you at this time. Love and prayers to you and sending you a big hug. Thank you for doing a new video. It is so lovely to see you back. xx
Oh Kaye - I lost my Daddy 24 years ago. It was the saddest day of my Life. I am so sorry you are there now. Keep in touch and PM me on the facebook messenger if you want to chat. I'm here for you.
Oh thank you Louanne! It has been very hard, especially with this move and the farm sale; running like a freight train. But I am getting better rest these days...
Hi Susie! I've missed your fun videos, but my sincerest condolences on the passing of your sister. Thanks for taking the time to make some of your creative cards and sharing it with us.
@@SeniorSusieStamps I should change my name on here. It stands for Jan Eastwick. Everyone thinks my name is Jane 😂😂😂😂. You certainly aren’t the first 🥰. Honestly, I don’t even know how I got assigned the name. 🤷♀️
Oh yes, I see that now - Sorry! I always try to get it right, but sometimes my eyes don;t pick it out right. LOL - I will try to remember Jan for next time!!!
I am glad to see you getting back to what you love. Moving is hard, and if you are like me, you just have to take a break from hard stuff and CREATE something. I enjoyed this video so much.
So glad you’re able to come back to RU-vid. I have moved many times as a United Methodist Clergy family and know very well the challenges. Prayers for you and your family for the loss of your sister 😢
Thank you Judy. The Methodists like to move their clergy don't they?! Altho, with the shortage of clergy, I think that may have slowed down a bit. My sister was in great pain and it was a blessing for her to cross over. But I feel a great loss.
Thank you Kathleen. I'm glad you liked these. Doodling always makes me a little uncomfortable, but this was an easy way to get started - just following the ink pattern. I was reminded of that little tearing tip by Sande's Poema channel, so I can't take too much credit. It really is the only efficient way to control tear heavy cardstock.
Hi Susie! It's nice to have you back in the craft room! So sorry to hear about your sister. I wish you peace in your loss and with all of the changes. You are in my thoughts. Beautiful cards!
Our hearts are breaking for you on the loss of your sister. Sending our prayers. Thank you for sharing the making of your beautiful cards. You've done so well getting your new studio together too.
Thanks Elizabeth! We are so delighted! After vacationing in North GA Mountains for years, it is a dream come true. Now if we can get the TN farm sold...!
Thank yo so much Karmina and Welcome to My Channel. New videos are a bit hit and miss right now, because of the move and trying to sell the farm. But I will be back weekly as soon as I can.
It's so good to see a card video from you Julia and your cards turned out really nice....TFS As far as hearing any sound from outside I didn't hear anything. Your sister's memory will always be in your heart.
So nice to see you doing a new video for us, I've been missing them and love the 2 cards you made today. I will understand if you need to skip some Sundays while you are busy moving and setting up your interium home. Blessings to you and Jon while you work to get settled into your new home.
Julia, so happy to see you back. Again, I’m so sorry for the loss of your sister. I know your heart is hurting. The cards are pretty! I love the abstract doodles, and the color burst backgrounds.
Thank you Gigi - I have never been much of a doodler. But this was an easy way to break the ice - by just following the ink trails. It really added a lot to the backgrounds!
Hey Julia! Good to see you again! Those were some creative cards! Little of this and that, funny thing is I believe I have everything you used! 😃 Glad you’re staying busy with the move probably the best thing for you right now keeps your mind busy. So hard for you with your sister being gone, again I’m so sorry ❤
Thanks so much Jo! I was reminded of that little tearing tip by Sande's Poema channel, so I can't take too much credit. It really is the only efficient way to control tear heavy cardstock.
Hi Julia. First let me say how sorry I am that your sister passed. I have 2 younger sisters and it's amazing how close you become as adults. It's great to have you making videos again. You and your common sense approach to card making have been missed. Thanks so much. ❤ 🇨🇦 😊
I don't do Facebook, so hadn't heard about the death of your sister. That's a tough loss, I'm sure. I figured you were overwhelmed with the move and knew you'd be back here once you got yourself a bit situated. Both cards are lovely and the recipients are sure to treasure them. You always have the neatest little additions to make your cards extra special.
Thanks Christine - I am not a doodler by nature, but this was an easy ice-breaker for me. I just followed the ink patterns. The backgrounds really made these cards interesting.
Thanks Theresa! We have been camping in the North GA Mountains for several years. And this year we decided to make the move. I'm glad we didn't wait another 5 years, which was the original plan. I am barely making ends meet with my energy now.
Hello dearest Julia... what a delightful surprise to see your video, and I am so happy that you are settling in to your interim craft studio. It is lovely that you are able to get back in to making some cards again, and these cards as always are gorgeous. When you made the backgrounds as you didn't use watercolour paper, and you used a considerable amount of water did you find that your cardstock warped? Perhaps you could eventually invest in the Ranger Distress Watercolour cardstock as it has a textured and a smooth side. I have never seen the Ken Oliver colour burst before, are they new to your craft studio? I really like the effect that the powder has when it comes in contact with water. Julia, you have been through quite a lot over these past few months, and please know that you are in my prayers. God's blessings, love and hugs. Gloria 🤗🙏💐❤
G'Day Gloria!! I have scads of watercolor paper in a box somewhere...LOL And, I was really surprised the paper didn't warp much. What warping there was just added to the interest of the finished card - especially the 2nd card. The triple foam tape on the back really acts to straighten out the little bit of warping there was. I have use Ken Oliver colorburst in some other videos. It is an amazing result when you use it with baby wipes too. As always you are in my prayers as well. Take care down under!!
Lovely cards! I notice you do the edges from the side. I have heard to do it from the back so you don't have a mess if you have an accident. I can attest to it helping! How do I now?....
I'm so sorry for the loss of your sister. My own sister was a little over 19 years older than I (I was a little surprise for my parents! !!) I always knew she would probably go before me (My brother, too.) unless something bad would take me out before them, but that didn't make it any easier when their times came around. 😩😢💔
@@SeniorSusieStamps I was the "baby" of my own immediate family and of my whole extended family of my mother's immediate family and my extended family, which included my first cousins. Oh, how I loved them all. I'm in touch with two of the only five of us cousins left. Now, I'm one of the senior remnants. I just turned 78 the 13th of February. My husband in 80, as of the end of January. Where did the time go? I was once young, blinked and now I'm old. LOL! Love to you and yours. ❤❤❤❤❤ MMV
