I bought the first Stone Poney LP right when it came out and every LP, CD, etc that Linda Ronstadt put out. I had the great fortune to actually meet her (she and Jackson Browne both performed together at my college), and she was nice, down to earth and easy to talk to. I actually asked her to go to the Concert Committee after party, but she had twisted her ankle and had to perform sitting down. She said it was pretty painful but otherwise she would have gone! The height of my groupie career lol. She had a great career and I found it so sad when I learned she could no longer sing. I still play her music frequently and always will. I still consider her the best rock female voice ever. Thanks for the great music, Linda. I thought it showed a lot of class to encourage her backup band to go on their own. It was so ironic when I saw her in concert with the Eagles right after the Eagles first LP came out. She had been singing her a** off since starting when she was 18 with the Stone Poneys, yet after just one debut LP from the Eagles and she had to open for them. Didn't seem right, but there you are.
With Linda and the Eagles each contributing their enormous talents this production is so much richer in both singing genius and orchestral massive talent. This melding is at the hight of any and all pop music of that time. 2:40 .
I have listened to Jackson since I was 16 . his music has soul, rhythm, and words that are beautiful beyond words belief . Jackson is with me in his music when I am and when I am down.
The red photo development lab light that glows like an aura off the edge of his hair, and back was a really cool effect for late night music, and live performances back then. That's an analog effect you probably can't capture in a digital way organically.
It's always touching to see how deeply his fellow musicians immerse themselves in Browne's music and make it that little bit better. Especially Mr. Lindley, of course, r.i.p. Love it!
Best concert I ever went to was Jackson Browne in Niagara Falls NY in 1978 and crowd was so high for the music for about an hour after the concert David Lindsey came out smoking on guitar. Was the best in concert experience I ever had.Probably the Running On Empty tour. One hour acoustic one hour electric. I was still high from the music all the way back to Toronto by car,
