So I had basically forgotten the original video... but when that titanic segment started I had this strange realization that I had seen this before 😂 it's been a long ride.
I'm kinda annoyed you never mentioned Rick the Door Technician from Jedi: Survivor, or the Difficult Pete mod for Fallout: New Vegas. Or better yet, Mysterio in that one Spider-Man game! With the orange dome and alien backstory.
Anchoring bias can also work in your favour: I didn't know at all how deep the Titanic was, but I did know the average depth of the oceans is about 4,000 meters, so I used that as an educated guess-in a way I used a better anchor.
I don't think I can ever make a backlog, let alone keeping up with one. What I do have is fixation on certain franchises. Last year, It was Trails games, since I picked up Sky SC on a whim and finished It and the 3rd. Started Zero, dropped It then started playing Yakuza Like a Dragon on a whim again. It became my New gaming obsession, played it, Gaiden, 8, 1 (both original and remake) and am halfway through 2 remake right now. Maybe I'll play all games, maybe I'll find something else to play, I frankly don't know.
As you said, I love how he's like no other boss before. You got hit a frame ago? No i-frames, here's another hit. Want to go full offense? He just dodges. At least the menu is a safe screen to breathe for a sec, right? No, you're boned.
In Bloodborne, I missed one of these umbilical cord thingies (because it was after some dumbass world event or something) so I could not fight the true final boss. So I rushed through NG+, made sure to get it this time and beat the true final boss, forcing me into NG+2. Needless to say I was three times as pissed when I had to beat Orphan of Kos on NG+2 when the DLC came out.
in the first question about titanic i thought he is quite close to the surface. but when i was wrong, i thought that he is a few thousand meters bellow 'cuz if it isn't shallow, its fucking deep
absolutely loved the original video, and i'm so glad it's back! i still remember my initial guess after 800 being 14k, and I was really surprised to have been so close.
Well, I guess I’m built different, I said 2-3 miles. Probably because I’m incredibly afraid the ocean doesn’t have a floor and that has forced my brain into thinking that if I can’t see the bottom, it doesn’t exist. Long story short, my incredible phobia of deep ocean made me roughly guess the depth correctly.
this shit with sans just made me turn on the lights in my brain: something similar is done for both minos prime and sisyphus prime, you have to perfect each level, meaning you develop the skills fully. then, after putting up with an intense boss fight with the flesh prison, minos prime instantly comes and most likely one-shots you. sisyphus plays off of this by the level itself being very difficult, then tearing through his own flesh panopticon before the health bar is fully depleted, putting him over
Hypothetical scenario: You are being forcibly controlled by a mysterious being and have to watch through your own eyes as someone lives out your life, with your friends and family none the wiser. Some of them catch on to you acting differently than normal but they all think it’s just you “coming out of your shell” (a poor choice of words) and generally think it’s a positive change. After about a week of this lack of agency you come up with a way to shake off their control… but only by doing something so drastic that it’ll scare them off. Would you be willing to gaslight and emotionally abuse your childhood friend (who’s also tied for the sweetest person you know) into killing another of her friends? Even though the entity controlling you has been nothing but benevolent to the people around you to the point their image of you has improved? Or would you continue a life without choices where you can do literally nothing of your own will? I don’t actually believe in the “Kris breaking free” theory but, well, it presents the same moral dilemma that the player is faced with here. After having so many choices in Undertale and being starved for choices in Deltarune it’s only natural people would want a choice… but not like this. Right?
