It makes sense why Robinson would avoid him , cause a counter puncher beats a boxer 9 times out of 10, the most recent example was Crawford's destruction of Spence, cause once his jab was taken away , he was a sitting duck, and this guy is the true definition of P4P, which is, can your skills translate in other weight classes other than your own🤷🏾♂️ ....
Great video! You did him absolute justice with this video, I really appreciate you giving these old school legends the respect they deserve. What a sad world we live in, where great boxers sometimes get overlooked because they have quiet personalities or just dont like to boast all that much.
Giving Archie Moore a boxing lesson is a feat in and of itself. Moore became THE professor of boxing. Burley-Moore was a higher ring iq version of Floyd-Marquez
Bivol the best today at countering a jab with your own jabs. He uses a parry jab or catch & shoot. Fights become much easier when you throw the opponent’s jab out the window. Most won’t be able to get anything going
Roy Jones Jr said this. "This generation of fighters are so one dimensional with no footwork whatsoever. Neither fighting in the Olympics or invitationals that would develop them, young western fighters dont have any other tricks to rely on. The southpaw learns to be deceptive with his range much earlier in his career in order to land real power out of multiple stances." PERIOD
Arguello gave Pryor permanent brain damage, even tho Pryor survived their two fights because of drugs. Argeullo went on to do miami vice and live a normal life, Pryor's eyes went sideways.
Ray Robinson: I'll fight 200 other ppl and win 185 of them, but i ain't fighting 1 dude, oh no! I'm scared. Me: 😐 cut the clickbait titles out, your content is too good for that.
Appreciate the feedback, I may change it, but the video wasn’t performing as it should with other titles. But in all seriousness why did they price out Burley then twice? Also Robinson did say those quotes about not being sure if he could beat him. So there was clearly some uncertainty from him.
Yes, he is almost always on the move and it takes some stamina. Also, watch his right hand - always up and close to his head when he is attaching and stepping out of range. It serves two main purposes: 1 Defense and 2 Excellent left hand power/balance/coordination. He is never "hanging" on his lead foot ... or the back foot for that matter. Always balanced. Much easier and quicker to move around.
