Does the demo support any form of good uspcaling like DLSS, or even FSR2/3 ?!. Still, it does look very nice, even when using the High preset. Tho you can clearly see the cut backs when going from Ultra to High. I am really curious how open world UE5 games will run, on the current generation of consoles. On the other hand, I am really getting tired of every game looking ultra realistic these days. There is really no style, when every game is running on UE engine. Unless the developer is really talented, and makes a ton of assets on their own. But even then, you can always spot some of thee UE "trademark" look, in the games that use it.
No, there are only 3 options in this demo for Ultra, High and Low settings and also an option for going 60% above native resolution. Yes high looks very nice while maintaining 60fps.

@@artisticov1469 yes RT needs to be selected for latest version but even for that there are 2 mods this selection is done before you select the RT version. You need the beta version of mod for upscaling and beta version is bit hard to find on GitHub 1. Go to github.com/praydog/REFramework/actions 2. Click on Branch and then select pd-upscaler 3. Select first link titled 'Merge branch 'master' into pd-upscaler' 4. Scroll down to artifacts and select RE2 (Download option only shows up when you are signed in to github)

All this talk about Lumen, but from what I am seeing here, this does not look much better than(if even) what you would see in Wolfenstein 2. Just play that game, and get to the HUB area. Or play YoungBlood(Shitty game), and go inside a apartment or just walk on the street. It looks so much better than this game. With hardware RT to boot. I fucking despise UE5. Outside of few amazing looking games on that engine, there is a ton of PS4+( Plus as slightly better looking) looking ones. But now you need 3x the hardware to run it. For what, a little better precision in lighting quality, and lazy developers using Nanite to save on development time. But now you get to pay for it, by being forced to buy overpriced hardware. I even saw 1h of this game on YT. A popular channel was playing it on a PS5. I saw the character animations, how small most of the locations are. I mean you even have loading between many locations. So yea, it looks like a last generation game, that was ported to UE5 for no reason. Both games that i mentioned above, have better character animations, better looking locations. Hell, the none RT version of Metro Exodus looks generation ahead of this game. And you can run it fine on a GTX 1650. I mean did ppl forget that the shitty looking Golum game, wanted you to have a 4070 to just run "well enough", while looking worse than last generation games. Everyone was shitting on that title. But then UE5 comes out, becomes mainstream, looks marginally better than than most of the old UE4 games. And everyone is fine with it.
Not always, most games work the same but when it comes to 3rd party day 1 releases, there are almost always issues like this, Microsoft needs to put it in agreement that there needs to be feature parity with steam.

Lol, what a clowns this team are. Get promotion from nvidia, not doing shit, and after so much time releasing this garbage. They put as much effort in this as eating cheeseburger. Any ue4/5 game without rt support, but with dxr enabled in release build can have such "patch" through console commands changing rtao and rt reflecrions from 0 to 1. Their rt demo also have shadows, but shadows are not presented here, guessing why? Because simple enabling won't be working with rt shadows) And it is already too broken under the hood.
The loss could just be them fixing a broken setting that didn't apply before or something, it is more common than you would think since most games releasing these days are broken at launch
I do notice from your tests, that a lot of recent games are following this trend of losing some performance, after a patch is released. It hurts more when you turn DLSS on. Few more "fixes" by Nixxes, and you will need a new GPU to play it. I am really curious how God Of War Ragnarok will run on a 3070. On PS5 it it's 60 fps performance mode, the game hovers around or above 1512p. It can also hit 4k when looking at the sky i guess:D. So i do hope that they will translate it well to PC. They should release it next year, and bundle it with a 8GB 5060. Where Nvidia will try to one again explain their logic of " more cash on GPU" equals better memory management. So that 8GB will work as well as 12/16GB:D.
1512p means it should run good on RTX 3070 but that would be medium or high settings, for higher settings DLSS should be enough to keep fps above 60. VRAM should be fine too as the game was on ps4 too.

@@SolidBoss7 I know you think that you are very "ORIGINAL", by using big and small letters to prove your amazing point. Like all big boys do. But patching a game, or so you can understand it better, fixing it, should not have any performance loss at all. For some ppl with weaker hardware, it might even be a difference of not being able to lock the game to their desired framerate.

In my testing, they seem to have improved the lighting noticeably in many areas (i.e., light bounces further and scenes look brighter), so even if the performance is same as before (or sometimes slightly worse), it's an improvement visually nevertheless.
Not only is it worthless, but it actually makes the game look worse in many situations (due to their poor implementation), and most importantly - it makes the game stutter. It rarely stutters without it. Cuts your FPS by more than half. Even on the 4090 I'm not using it. Another issue is that Frame Gen in this game feels worse than any other Frame Gen I've tried, even if your base FPS is 90+, which should never make frame gen feel bad. So both of their features are completely broken.

Lol. and Nvidia still wants to release a 12GB RTX 5070.... . Just to force ppl to upgrade next generation for more Vram. Unless ofc you want to spend 1000$+ on a 80 class GPU. Outside of that, I think that the game looks great even without RT. But yea, as always it's not worth the performance hit imo.
@@S2GamesBench Yea, a ton of old and new rumors all say the same thing. The 5090 will be the best of them all, just like we have with the 4090 now. And everything else will be gimped to make it look good. The standard 5060 won't even use GDDR 7, and it's gonna have a 128bit bus. Dunno about the Vram of it, but a 8GB variant will prob be released. So i am not sure if the standard RTX 5070 will even reach a 4080 in performance, especially after i saw the core count leak on it. The most recent one, from good sources. I expect it to cost 599$, and be a little faster than the 4070Ti Super, but still a little behind a 4080 Super. So in essence you are just gonna get a 12GB version of a 4070Ti Super +, for 600$ instead of 800$. I think i will just buy a 4070Ti Super, and call it a day for the next 3 years. Till the new console generation will start. It's 70%-75%(according to Hardware Unboxed Review) faster than my 3070, has enough Vram for all my 1440p needs. And if i buy a Gigabyte Gaming OC model, it's even 2-3 fps faster than other models, so it's another 1-2% performance gains. I pref to have 16GB of Vram, over a 5070 that's gonna be 10%-14% stronger in raster. You see it yourself, how some shitty PC ports eat Vram like it's nothing. Windows 10/11 alone eats about 500-900Vram in certain situations. But i am still considering it ofc.
I think we all have a love hate relationship with Nvidea/amd Can't quite stop playing games and hate to have to pay up the nose for new hardware to play slower yet same looking games.
RT performance hit is too high and visual upgrade is very minor. Balanced and Performance modes are useless, both have high fps hit but fail in most scenes, so ignore both of these modes. RT Quality mode does provide better reflections but in outdoor sections of the game need more VRAM, most of the game is indoor though where it is playable with 8GB GPUs too. But even then you have to wonder if it's worth reducing half fps. To make matters worse RT Quality mode too fails to provide better reflections in some scenes. RT implementation is in beta though, so perhaps it will be improved with time but for the time being I would suggest to ignore it's existence. So, judging from this comparison I can definitely say that, at least for now, the RT options are totally worthless. The performance is way worse and the image quality is identical to RT off if not even worse, because some reflections are completely missing with RT on.
There has not been a UE4 title that actually handles RT properly. It always hammers the CPU in a singlethreaded way and is also way heavier on the GPU than in many other titles. The only really good implementation so far is the one in Cyberpunk... Hitman's implementation is also not very good. Dying Light 2 is quite good, but has average quality. Alan Wake 2 is amazing but very demanding. SWJS is terrible and also looks worse in some areas. Hogwarts Legacy is also terrible, incredibly CPU limited. Callisto protocol which again runs on UE4 is incredibly CPU limited as well. And now we have Atomic Heart, another CPU limited game with RT on UE4. All UE4 RT implementations simply run like crap, so probably the engine is just not ready for it.
@@VittorioBaldini1997 RT is for lazy programmers not users. They can crank out RT faster than doing raster. I agree its not worth the cost. But its a win win for people selling cards + developers. Crank out games faster (yes slower performance) + fix it with new hardware = more video card Sales. They win consumer loses.
I can't really tell what I am looking at here, except that my game looks much, much better. Not bragging, it's just an observation. I'm using a Ryzen 5 7600x with a RX 7800 XT HellHound OC, 32gbs of DDR5@6000mhz, and a SamSung 980 Pro on a MSI B650 Mag TomaHawk. I'm also using a modded version of the game with Natural Vision Evolved. Apparently it makes things look more like modern day LA. I'm running on a 165hz (170hz OC) MSI monitor with a standard display capable of up to 240hz. I've tried to challenge my system to the max with this game. I have my GPU running at 100%, which is good, my CPU usually only can reach around 30% on average, but this is not a real CPU heavy game and the 7000 series AMD processors are insanely good. VRAM wise I only reach about 8500gbs with everything turned up to it's highest settings at 1440p. Any tips of how to push the system harder? I have 8gbs of VRAM and tons of DDR5 and processor power to spare. As I type this the game running in the background and getting an average of 162fps and my CPU/GPU temps are only running an average of 53c. Would like to push things further if you have any ideas.
