@@twobikesandadrone No I am not. I have Aprilia capo nord 1200 and Harley Electra, both which are great in their own right. But I am planning to add GW at some point to my stable. Amazing history and engine. You did great job at reviewing it from an owner perspective.
@@BP-xe7dw thanks! I’ve always believed that Harleys and Hondas can peacefully coexist, and almost bought a ‘77 XLCR to test my theory. I should have bought that bike!! 1500 GoldWings don’t handle as well as the newer 1800s, but they ride smoother and they’re definitely bulletproof!! I didn’t hesitate to take mine on a 3-day ride up to Edmonton Canada last year…and I had the brand new GS that I could have taken. No comparison.
@@twobikesandadrone I have no divisions when it comes to bikes. I always had European motorcycles and three years ago bought a Harley. It was a good deal. I literally fell head over heels over the bike. My friends were shocked. Not fast, it doesn't corner as well, loud, it shakes, but when I ride it, it just does something to your soul. I recently rode it from Seattle to LA in one day. Very comfortable with the back rest and the ability to move your feet around easily, adequate wind protection off your helmet and chest, you can ride for a long time. My other bikes pale in comparison when it comes to comfort. Honda has the reliability factor down beyond reproach. Ride safely my friend.
@@goldwingmoments thanks! Any excuse to take a ride on the Wing!! Speaking of rides….when are you taking your big trip east, to ride with your brother I think?
@@johnatilanoii1075 I’m only using my fancy tripod in this video, and the adapter screws right into the tripod. It also comes with a small threaded spike though.
I'll include it here, but just to be sure, it can't be used with an antenna without the adapter I bought, or by using one of their antenna systems. To the best of my knowledge anyway....which isn't saying a lot!! It is a quality tripod though!! chameleonantenna.com/shop-here/ols/products/cha-carbon-fiber-tripod
Thank You! One of my first stabs at getting in front of the camera, after two years of hiding behind it. Not an easy thing to do, but all part of having a little more fun with the channel I guess!
Battery is a Bioenno Lithium Iron Phosphate 12V 12AH 144 Watt battery. So far, I haven't operated for more than two hours and it holds up well for what I do. Thanks for the questions and I hope this helps!! 73
I got these clips on Amazon that I use for my radials, and just clipped them to the antenna adapter that I used with the tripod..... www.amazon.com/dp/B0195UTDIA?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
I sure do appreciate you taking the time to tell me that! Still figuring it all out but recently got a new drone and hope to incorporate that into more of the videos. Wish me luck 😄
Just ran into your channel, enjoying this series .. (new subscriber here) These older Goldwing's are a heck of a deal for long travel. I'm looking for one myself now, use to ride and have owned many bikes in my day but a Goldwing 1500 is on my short list now.... never ridden a Wing...but wont fork out the big $$ for a new one. Thanks for the Inspirational travel Vids... yes the mic when riding needs work but great stuff.... keep it up !
Thanks for the feedback! Mic quality is much better now, thankfully. Be patient and you'll find a great deal on a 1500 I'm sure!! And you won't ever have to worry about buyers regret because it's the best bike on the planet!! You might as well get yourself a shop manual now, so you can get familiar with the 1500.....not because you'll have to work on it all the time, but so you won't be intimidated by having to remove pieces to do routine preventive maintenance stuff. The only downside to a 1500 that I can see, is that it probably won't be possible for me to trike it out when I get too old for two wheels (since companies won't be making those kits any longer)....so I may have to get another one that's already triked, or get an 1800 trike.
Yep!! We've had the Jeep since 2007 and I'm hoping the engine will give it up soon.....so I can get something with some power to drop in there 😆 I'm thinkin a Hemi of some flavor....what do you think?
I got to the end of the Alcon highway And I wanted to have the oil change on my gold wing so I took it to a dealer here and he only charge me $286 for an oil change. Of course he knewI wouldn’t come back.
@@twobikesandadrone yes but the reason was, they didn’t know what they were doing. They took half the bike apart to get the discharge. I could change the oil neck wig in my carport with two little jackstands, but whatever I was there and I paid the bill. Have fun on your trip, be safe
@@twobikesandadrone I understand I don’t necessarily want to go back to Alaska but I certainly would like to go back to the Yukon. How is my favorite part of your trip course? I loved it all but that was my favorite.
That was one of the best trips of my life I was 79 I had a 2010 gold wing I left from Beverly Hills Florida to Fairbanks Alaska. It was a real adventure and every way. My trip was 14,000 miles in four months. When I came back to Route 80 I won’t West Route 70 began and then I went back over the Rockies and into Florida. The trip was a dream come true. I pulled a camper behind Bike. I have no problem with either one Bike or the camper.
Hey man, that's my setup also, except I use a DJI Action 3 camera. The DJI mic is expensive, but it's worth it... it works great. Where do you set your gain? For me it's -8 to -12 on transmitter and receiver depending on the helmet.
I get half my ideas for stuff from you Ken.....this is just the latest 😆 I've seen how well it's been working for you and finally got around to getting it for me. Right now, I have them set for -5, and that seems to be working. My adventure helmet is pretty noisy compared to your helmets, so it doesn't sound as good as yours, but it's definitely a huge improvement over what I've been using!!
Why does it seem all American riders have their highbeam lights on ALL the time? it's very dangerous in my opinion, and actually elligal here in the UK to BLIND on-comming traffic! We all want to be more visable I get that, but if you are blinding the guy in the car comming towards you, or waiting at the junction, they are MORE likely to pull out, or swerve into you! just my humble opinion of course 😁
I've never seen high beams used by bikers at night time....although it seems like that is the case with newer automobiles! And in the daytime, high beams by bikers are not an issue for other drivers, in my opinion.
@@twobikesandadrone So a highbeam LED headlight coming right at you isn't an issue then? Highbeam should only be used to light up dark roads, like I said.... it's elligal in the UK to blind on-comming traffic, and in my opinion more dangerous as if they are blinded and cannot see you, there is more of a chance they might mis-judge distance, and pull out on you!
@@Budget-Cars-And-Bikes I've been riding with high beams for 25 years (only in the daytime of course) and I'm pretty sure it's helped people notice me hundreds of times, preventing them from pulling out and hitting me. I've also seen other motorcycles with high beams on, and I've never felt like it blinded me. I really don't notice many other bikers doing it, and it may even be illegal here in the U.S., but I'll continue to do it....as well as wear bright clothing and helmets. So far, it's worked for me.
@@twobikesandadrone The reason you don't notice the high beam on other bikes is your a lot higher on a bike than in a car! The poor sod in the car is getting blinded by you, ..... So if he swerves into your lane it's down to you! (But I sincerely hope that never happens) it's just odd it's always in the USA where bikers have this bad habit 🤔 remember there's a reason car drivers don't use their high beam all the time (cos it blinds other road users)
@@Budget-Cars-And-Bikes I can appreciate a good argument, so here's another counter-point to your point about bikes sitting higher than cars. Not in the U.S. where there are a majority of trucks and SUVs which sit much higher than those in the UK. I'm not sure why you're so against motorcycles being seen better, but we're all entitled to our opinions, and I appreciate hearing your perspective.
Good to see that they finally decided to fix the road to angel fire... I lived up and Taos and would ride the enchanted circle every week. The sketchiest part for sure was that nice set of twisted with a horrible bit of pave.
That’s a beautiful area for sure, and that Rio Grande Gorge/Bridge is incredible. I need to get back there again, and bring the drone next time for some really good video! Do you get back there often?
@@twobikesandadrone Its funny you say that, the reason I was looking for enchanted circle runs on youtube is that I've been pining to visit again. If I get the opportunity I'd def head back and see some friends!
Unbelievable I had a 1989 Gl500 that I had repainted a Black Cherry Met from the Chev. Impala and looks like same color. I finally sold it and got a 2012. I miss that 1500 best bike I ever owned. Had it for 13yrs.
Great minds think alike 😄. I do love my old Wing, and refuse to ride any newer ones just so I won’t be tempted! I did buy a new GS, but that’s mainly so I can hit the forest and desert roads.
@@MARKIEBANUNCE it’s true that they didn’t give credit right away, but what’s also true is that they took it to levels that the original arts couldn’t have dreamed were possible. If only they had given credit right away!
Thanks….glad it was helpful for you!! Tires are Motoz Tractionator GPSs. I have about 10k miles on them so far and they still have a couple thousand left I’m sure. My riding is probably 60% street/40% offroad and I have no complaints with them at all.
@@mikealls8938 these are my first 50/50 tires so I have nothing to compare them to, but they’re worth making the short list of tires to compare for sure! Can I ask where you’re located?
@@mikealls8938 Very cool! I was stationed in Germany for a few years and went over to the UK several times.....never on a bike unfortunately! It's on the bucket list though!
Amazing color combo! Finally made the choice to sell the super tenere for a GSA. Triple black with goldies is my choice, but doesnt loom nearly as nice as that year!
It took me a few minutes, but I finally remembered it down the road on the way to the next stop. I think I can find the spot where the kid shoots and kills Combo too.
@@twobikesandadrone I commented too soon I sae you mention it after. Oh well more comments means more engagement and hopefully that leads to more views
@@dabbingduskullz I’m out of state at the moment but I can look in to that and get back to you when I return….in a week or so. IF…I forget…please remind me!!
It really is a nice place! I'm not from here and only moved here 4 years ago, but I don't miss humidity and mosquitoes one bit!! We only get about 10 inches of rain a year as well, so that makes riding a motorcycle much nicer. And you can see the desert and the mountains in one afternoon....and go skiing and motorcycling in the same day. Great place, and very unexpected for me as well.
Have you watched Better Call Saul yet? Just as good in my opinion! If I ever finish finding all the Breaking Bad locations I may keep going with the Better Call Saul sites as well. Leaving here in a couple years though, and at the rate I put these out I'll never finish!!!
@@Teh-Penguin Any suggestions for making it more fun to watch? I've never really interviewed anyone, but I've considered that, although everything on RU-vid says to keep the video moving or people will lose interest, which I can agree with. If you have any suggestions though, don't ever hesitate to leave a comment!!
@@twobikesandadrone I like this one. Just genuine impressions of you being there. I like this best as compared to more scripted and planned events. I'm also a biker, so you hit the right spots for me with the pov ^^
Thank You! Some of the sites aren't overly exciting, but it's an excuse to take a ride on my bikes, and find new places, so that's always a good thing. Glad you like it!
Really cool series! I'm not from the US myself so seeing the surrounding city, not just the parts shown in BB is a very entertaining watch for me, not to mention you also managed to show filming locations other youtubers haven't really touched on. Keep it up
I seriously appreciate that feedback....so thanks!! I had a Breaking Bad in 10 Channel by itself, and it got no traction whatsoever, so I've edited the videos down a bit, and just made a separate playlist on my Two Bikes channel, since it's easier. And for some reason it's starting to get noticed a little more. Especially the next video to this one, so please let me know what you think of that one.....and if you have any suggestions!! Positive or Negative!!!
I absolutely will go there, but Saul's office doesn't show up for the first time in Breaking Bad until Episode 8 of Season 1, so there may be another couple of videos before I get there. I haven't even seen it myself yet, and I live here 🙄so I'm looking forward to it too!! I wish I could make these videos quicker than I do, but it honestly takes a lot of time that I just don't have at the moment.....but your request definitely motivates me to keep at it, so thanks for that!
I'm on episode three now and really enjoying this series. Thanks for uploading it. I really enjoyed the Breaking Bad ones too. I've subscribed and told my sons about the channel so hopefully they will too. Hi from the UK. 🇺🇸 🏍 🇬🇧
Thank You! My mic wasn’t the best for the Canada trip, and I think my editing skills have improved a bit since then….but I’m glad you’re enjoying it!! What part of the UK do you hail from?
@@stefanm67 I've been to Lakenheath at least once, and to another small base that was over there at the time.....but not Mildenhall. Can't remember the name. Also took a 24-hour ferry ride over there once, with a bunch of Brits that had just come back from an alcohol rehab place of some kind. Or at least some of them had been there. This is in the mid-80s, so it's been a while 🤔😄 Anyway, that was a very eventful ride, since they were definitely making up for lost time!!!
Glad you're showing the lesser renowned locations from the show. Most of these type of videos only show Walter's house, or Los Pollos Hermanos, along with the other super famous ones. Cool to see some of the lesser known ones too, keep it up!
Thanks for the feedback! And please keep the comments...and by all means.....suggestions....coming! I welcome positive and negative feedback!! I have the next one (Episodes 2 & 3) scheduled for Saturday morning, so keep an eye out for that....or subscribe of course. I think there may be a way to subscribe only to my Breaking Bad playlist, if the other stuff doesn't appeal to you.
i have a 98 Wing and on a trip one time my cruise quit working. When I got home and started checking I found that the plug on the front side of the throttle was only partially plugged in. Pushed it in and cruise worked fine again.
That's where my issue was at also, and still is actually. I messed around with that plug and got the cruise working again, and then it crapped out again. I need to get back in there and tighten up some connections most likely. Have you many other issues with your Wing?
Faux or Artificial leather? Is it cut? Isn't it safe? I want to buy Sidi Adventure Mid 2. I am someone who uses a Vespa gts scooter. Won't it protect me in case of an accident?Hello, I am using Vespa gts. I want to buy this boat. Because it will protect my shins in case of an accident. Did I get right? In which season can I wear it? I do not use a scooter in rain and snowy weather. In rainless, hot or cold weather. But I use it especially between May and September. In my country, the temperature between May and September is between 25 and 40 degrees. Do you think summer heat will be a problem with this boot? Is it a problem to have it on my feet in winter or cold months? Will it be a problem for the scooter? What is the difference between suede and leather models? Is the leather model safer and warmer? Thanks
Just to be clear, right before I shift into 2nd I roll over a speed bump, and when I do actually shift into 2nd there really isn't much of a difference. And remember, I was doing less than 20mph. At higher speeds it's extremely smooth.
Missed your comment somehow....sorry! It was a lot of fun, and I'm looking forward to riding that whole section as soon as the snow gets the heck out of here!
It's been a very wet, windy winter in Scotland, yes there's alot of nice places to ride too and I'm about 10 miles away from strathmiglo, I often have a ride past strathmiglo going too St Andrews, the home of golf,if you're into that!
