I really enjoyed the video. I just purchased a nox 600 and I'm still learning the vdi numbers. It's hard to find a fellow missourian to learn from. Almost all videos are from drastically different areas. Thanks so much!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but of the targets dug, 8 were trash and 8 were coins. That ratio happens to all of us at some point. However, what was disturbing is that the E-600, for all it's touted ability, features (ei: multi-frequency, target id, recovery speed) and high price tag, cannot accurately tell you what you are about to dig. A few other machines with a single frequency and lower price have a better target recognition which is for the most part spot-on. Helpful video and much kudos to you for speeding up the digging process.
Orlando Martinez I use a fishers and primarily a Tesoro Vaquero and ordered a nox. There is not a machine on the market that is 100 percent on nickels. If I was only digging true good targets I would have skipped over half of the jumpy vdi Targets. I try to post a comparison when my Nox arrives.
I agree with Orlando, it would seem the Nox is pretty much just another high dollar metal detector for the most part. Granted the Multi Frequency is a big plus but half the finds will be in the scrap metal bucket. I've never been a big fan of the low number ID scale either. With that said, I will probably get me a nox at some point.
I find many dimes; obviously other people with other detectors didn't detect them. I find very few nickels. I've got about 15-20 hours on my new Nox-600. My biggest complaint is that it gets so much interference from electrical lines. I just switch to single frequency, 15 MHz, and drive on.
Jon DAVID does good. By relic I mean not great at specifically coins. I mean it detects great just hard to id coins over junk. so great on relics/jewlry when ID doesnt matter.

I have one on order and after looking at the instruction manual I'm a little bit put off by Minelab's cheapness in literally reducing certain abilities of the 600. I'm a fan of hunting with a threshold and it appears this is locked with the 600, while the 800 gets that ability. What is beyond cheap is its lack of adjustment with a back-lit screen and then the instructions say, prolonged usage of the light in full brightness will diminish battery. I would like to slap the mine lab rep, who came up with this lack of bright idea. What comes next Mine lab, a website where I can get these abilities back if I piece rate pay for better Iron Bias, Sensitivity, tones, no saved profile, light options? $10.00 back light upgrade in software. If you do the math, a set of head phones are like $100+ at least and having two frequencies extra should be like $50.00+each, so we are at $200.00+ right there and then they screwed us pretty good for the last $50.00 with all the extra losses in software capability. I do hope this wasn't a big mistake, if so I'm getting a Makro Multi-Cruzer and I really like the display screen much better. Here's the real question of the day, what's the expected battery life of this Lithium battery and what is it going to cost in 2 yrs or so to replace by a servicing facility?
Mike S yeah it kind of the same deal with Makro advertising a multi frequency detector that you have to read the real fine print to see that it's not simultaneously running all three of them the nox 600 wins even though it's missing some features the 800 has
I just got mine a few days ago and took it out yesterday to the beach. The biggest find of the day an IPOD Touch, at 14" + inches depth, it rang up at 36 VDI. Most of the other stuff was aluminum but I did find a few dimes and pennies. My girlfriend actually using a AT PRO with a NEL Hunter coil hit the IPOD with 96 VDI, but it was in the last few minutes of the detecting day and she was so tired of digging rubbish, she put the target off and I walked up and hit the signal myself and started digging, she was angry with herself for not digging it. However, she found some quarters, dimes, pennies but I did spent more time looking in the water and all that brought was pull tabs, bottle caps, garbage. I like the machine but I still really like my Sovereign GT for the beach with NEL Hunter coil as I don't get many BS signals and the GT has less chatter for sure. I'm not a fan of the 600 coil as I wasn't doing a great job of pinpointing with it, plus more resistance through water and target separation doesn't seem as good compared to the Hunter coil. I am happy with the 600 and it will be better once some waterproof headphones can be had as I'm primarily a beach "water detecting" guy.
Lol. I have a bh 202 only gave 30 bucks for it. I love it wouldn't spend that much cash for a metal detector. Just saying i find the same stuff that i see on this videos. But with a cheapo. But i wish everyone happy hunting
