Great hobby yes! 2 questions: #1 what material were you using for the cleanup sluice matting? #2 what spaces do you put between the grizzly bars? Or what have you noticed that others do in their builds? I'm asking cuz I'm currently building my own high banker. It's a bit of an experiment, I'm making the crash box where everything falls thru the grizzly, about six inches deep, the only way out is over the spillover edge to the sluice itself, so there will be some smaller water jets fed into the sides of the box, just to keep everything suspended but not necessarily enough to drive material(other than silt) out of the box. The hope is that the heavies will work their way down and not even make to the sluice matting. One possible scenario for the box: a layer of large marbles with one eighth screen on top, and 2 or 3 layers of smaller marbles on top of that, the water jets fed into the sides of those. This might help most of the material to pass over it and keep going. Haven't tried it out yet, but it's alot like building either a fluid bed sluice into the machine, or building the action of a gold pan into it. We'll see 🙈, anyway, cheers 🍻 and thank you for sharing.
I went out to look for places to access the North Sask River from the fort saskatchewan area. It seems that Plains midstream have no tresspassing signs all along the North sask River banks on both sides. Where can I access these gravel bars guys? I'm stumped.
2019 I had the pleasure of assisting a couple of dudes sluicing on the NSR. I had a blast and enjoyed seeing sparkles of gold in the ground around us. Would love to go out again to help ❤❤❤
Well.. Are you from the Edmonton area, email me and Ill see if we can set something up for you. Canadiangoldprospector@gmail.com Thanks for watching and commenting. 🇨🇦😎🇨🇦 CGP
My love, sorrow, and gratitude go out to you and your family. I'm so sorry for your loss. Your videos are amazing, and I love watching them on youtube. I live in edmonton and also prospect on the NSR. It's VERY heartbreaking. My son is 4, and I can't wait to get him out there with me . You have inspired many people with the love and relationship u had with your boy. I'll be pooring some out and saying a prayer for you and your family next time im out there. Keep your head up. This life thing is just the beginning. You're a great man. Cheers brother 👍 ❤
What happened to your son? Love your channel. Sad you dont post anymore. You tribute to him doesnt say what happened as in how did he die. Could you share please ? Sickness, accident ?
Nice work boys! Any day gold prospecting is a good day ! That info that gentleman gave you is worth it’s weight alone! You’re sons tshirt rings echos in my ears , that’s what our dad use to say to us… JUST DO IT! Dad & I use to do metal detecting back in the 70’s and he always wanted to try his hand at panning but didn’t get a chance . I’ve since taken up panning on the public reserves as a hobby so cherish every time out together fellas ! Good luck and keep at it!👍🇨🇦
I went last fall to smith, & tried the very same in the Athabasca river, got about the same result. Overall from what i found, i wouldn't bother going back, looking forward to trying the north sask this summer coming up.
Long time Banff local, hit me up if you're near me. I'm building my own high banker & have applied for my Placer mining licence, so maybe I'll see you out there sir!
Living the dream man.. just found your channel. The biggest downfall of living in Banff, AB .. no panning, no gold.. enjoy that freedom sir! I just went panning for my first time 2 weeks ago.. never too late to get on it!
Glad to see you drink a real beer out there, here their drinking alot of the donkey mist and we all know that means more with less to get the old pipes to process the river looks really great out there first time watching and the shows pretty good man.🇨🇦🇧🇲
Good day. I may be late to the video however wanted to say nice haul. I am curious if in 2024 it would be possible to plan a trip to meet up with you and do perhaps a week of gold digging. I live far away, however think it would be a good experience to introduce to my wife. It is currently Oct 1, 2023 as I leave this message. Our condolences to the passing of your son.
Just started panning on the North Saskatchewan around Edmonton and area about 6 months ago. It's been a really enjoyable rewarding hobby thus far. Just waiting for a rock crusher I bought to arrive atm. Can I ask what the smaller classifying sluice you used when you got home is? Looks like a good little backyard rig. Thanks for the videos, always a pleasure to watch. 😁
I'm coming to Edmonton this fall either late sept or early oct to see the grandkids etc but also wanting to bring my stuff and at least pan maybe highbank. Laurie
Hey guys, awsome video, i am from fordsaskatchewan ab, and i was looking for nice spots like that were u can actually drive close to the river but every thing around here is hard to get to so i only keep paning, i was wondering if u guys can share some location, which are easer to get too by truck or car ?
