Canadian Gold Prospector you allowed to use a 4” Keene dredge highbanker combo around those areas.ive got one collecting dust in my basement.or is there a size limit ?
Nice work...maybe not a lot of gold...but the best part about it was the time you were able to spend with your son Zach...you are making life long memories he will never forget. Damn nice looking T-Bone steaks! Enjoy!
Great video and some decent color, The river is stupid high lately I havnt been out for over a week lol. Next time your out let me know I will come join you.
Nice little outing afield on the North Saskatchewan River with your son...nice take all said and done...pitty no mini flakes but it'll do. Best of luck in the 2019 season 👍
Thanks for the comment.. I don't know if parts of the NSR in Saskatchewan actually have any gold.. Devon to Edmonton AB is where gold is claimed to be the most concentrated.
I learned to swim on the N and S Rivers up by Prince Albert. I had no idea there was good gold to find there. I am over on the Nechako above the Fraser now in BC and do ok now and then. Just imagine with the length of that river just how much gold it holds for us eh. New sub here bud. Neat post fella.
Just found your channell this morn. I did a little placer mining on the Red Deer River round Drumheller in the early 80's. My outfit was home made. No internet so resorces were limited. Back then a placer mining licence was required by the Proince, does that still hold true?
What angle do you have the mini-- clean up sluice at? I made one. I am still trying to figure out what works best. And, it would be cool if you would show how you get the gold from the mini-sluice to the jar.
Hi. What’s the matting you put in your clean up sluice? Where do you get it? Just getting started my self as a hobby. Thanks for great videos. I’m in Edmonton too!
Hi Dunk Funk It's just regular "V" matting. You can buy from you local gold shop or from Ebay or Amazon I'm sure. Thanks for watching and commenting, wish you all the best on the river. 🇨🇦😎🇨🇦 CGP
Nice haul! In the amount of time you spent feeding that thing with a spoon, you could have panned out faster! I always preach, "Pan into another pan"! (Pan the blondes out till down to heavy's. Set heavy's down, re pan blondes, pour that heavy's pan into first pan. Then magnet then finish pan!) Now how much gold do you think you put back into the river because the sluice has to much pitch? Each mat or riffle needs it's own pitch to preform properly!
Really nice, pretty informative video... I enjoyed it a lot. I am from Pakistan. I have a question for u. Where I am living right now there is a mountain near by having lot of coal mines, a stream comes through that mountain,is there any chance to get gold from that stream?? One man 15 years ago found a diamond from that stream as well But no one did gold prospecting before like you . Hope fully you will guide me as per your knowledge. Thanks a lot
Were do you camp when you sluice the nsr. I live few hrs north was thinking of giving it a try for first time and maybe bringing the camper to stay a few nights
Enjoying your video. Have you checked out Dan Hurd or Paulpauly or Shane of Klesh guitars. They do claims in B. C. And Australia. I’m enjoying your videos also. Pork on a stick. Looks yummy for sure. How are the bugs.
@Chock Wolf Gold Hog matting loves the water.. I'm working on some tweaks for calming the flow down.. I know it's working good right now as 90% of the gold is caught in first 5' of matting, with the 4' extension there is gold down there..but not too much... Its flour gold not the easiest to capture. Wish you all the best luck in your prospecting adventures. Thanks for watching and commenting. CGP 🇨🇦😎🇨🇦
@@CanadianGoldProspector that awsome figures im glad to hear its working that well.I'm always glad to learn things.sounds like those matts are were its at if you can put that much water through them.like i said i dont have a clue about sluicing.it looks like your doing well.keep up the great content🤙
what do you do with that magnetite sand after? how much did you get? I know a guy doing a bloom iron project in Red Deer who could use some! Also, if you are looking for a guy to smelt the gold into bars. id do it free, just for the experience
@@CanadianGoldProspector you could also use my email (IllicitMetalwork@gmail.com) id message you thru youtube but it appears that option doesnt exist anymore
I'll tell you what ..I'll send you the dirt.. you keep anything you find..but you are right, there is still gold in the bucket(very..very little)... I first learned how to pan flour gold from my friends cons.. if you can pan flour gold, you can pan any gold.
Just need you some Dream Mats to catch the flour gold and jobs done for ya..Just on the bottom of your Sluice run would be enough and keep whatever Mats you have at the top..Won't be disappointed I can tell you that much
I would like to think that its ok to discharge back into the river.. (this river changes water levels so frequently, the little amount of silt I'm putting into the river is below the limits allowed) So until I'm told otherwise.. keep on digging Do you prospect for gold? Being from Alberta, there's another of fine gold to be found. Thanks for the comments and questions... and ya I like my tunes too..lmao
@@CanadianGoldProspector lol i have a few times yes, I wanted to get down there this year too but the river has been crazy high since spring. Had a good friend that had all of his stuff confiscated a few years ago...ya hard asses they are!!! they came in by boat off the river upstream from Edmonton.
@@CanadianGoldProspector also my grandfather homesteaded 1/2 mile from the river just outside of Edmonton its the same farm i was raised on and i raised my kids there too so that river is a huge part of my life ....my dad was friends with an old prospector that lived by the river beside the Devon bridge he was there for probably 50+ years had a little shack no heat or running water or power he lived there year round kool old guy !!!
Last I heard, Alberta specifically atleast, you do not need a permit for Gold panning, but anything larger (slues+) you require a permit, not 100% sure tho
If you use a sluice or mini sluice with flowing water you will loose gold, Send me some spent cons & il put it through my gizmo I can collect upto the floater stage
@@CanadianGoldProspector 1.47 grams per day? sorry. I live in turkey. There are very few people in our country interested in this business. I'm learning slowly. thanks for your videos.
@@CanadianGoldProspector I'm from Ontario and I can get a prospecting ticket here that will allow me to literally stake my claims where I have to stake out the area with actual pegs and flags with tags
I get more than that panning for two hours in a creek by my house. Sometimes get close to an ounce in a weekend. Not a hobby for me, more like a 2nd income. I don't see the point if you're not making any money. I would rather be fishing if only getting a gram per trip.
Colorado Topshelf.. For me its a hobby, If your getting that much gold.. that's just amazing!! For me it's all about the memories with friends and son... the gold is just a bonus. Hope you can understand that.. I use to fish a lot when I live in Ontario, when we go to BC my son does enjoy fishing as well... it's not all digging .. some weekend we go up there and just ride our dirt bikes around... building memories...That's what it's all about for this guy. Anyways still appreciate your comment.. wishing you heavy pans.. Take care 🇨🇦😎🇨🇦 CGP
@@CanadianGoldProspector I didn't mean to sound critical. I see you putting a lot of work and effort into your set up. Have you tried using a metal detector? It's worked for me on several occasions in the mountains near where I live. I use it to determine where to pan. Sometimes I only use a sifter and find pea size little clinkers. It adds up with the flower gold I get from panning. It's never a sure thing obviously. I get skunked on occasion. Kinda like fishing I suppose, they don't call it "catching" for a reason. Enjoy your time with your son. Mine is in Florida going to college, haven't seen him in a couple years. Hope you find some better gold. it's definitely out there still.
@@CanadianGoldProspector Check out gold nugget explorer from Golden Beard Media here on youtube if you want to see some incredible egg sized nuggets and bigger. It's crazy what they find on a volcanic island. They don't say where it is but I think it's the Indonesian Islands.
I agree some children are just lazy and want to stay in front of some screen(TV,phone, tablet, computer) ..I'm teaching my son the right way in life..He's a strong ,respectful lad.. that I'm proud of. Cheers and thanks for watching.
@CANADIAN WARRIOR First off it was a 2 day trip.. to hang out with friends and family.. I was NOT digging for the whole 2 days.. Its a hobby for me and the best one on earth(imo)... Thanks for watching and try to stay positive.. it's all about the memories for me... not the value of the gold. CGP 🇨🇦😎🇨🇦
