I don’t think that’s a solid point, it implies all PSI users are related, which makes Ninten and Ana’s (as well as Ness and Paula’s) relationships problematic…
It’s been confirmed that its lack of release had nothing to do with content and that they came very close to putting it on the eshop untranslated, so I don’t think that’s much of a concern for them.
I don't know, Ness is stronger, but after Mother 3 Lucas is able to control the Dark Dragon(said dragon being as strong if not stronger than giygas) so it's hard to know the outcome.
Another significant thing here is it was said by Leder that humans had an inkling in the back of their minds for a long time that the end of the world would come due to the way they lived, which isn't shown to be the case in Earthbound. This, along with it being contradictory to the spirit of the series and the intent of the games that the world Ness and his friends just finished saving would fall to ruin within his lifetime, makes him being Flint really unlikely, especially on top of everything else. No idea how this theory's stuck around so long.
a bit of a different take from most people but I always hoped Earthbound would be remade in a fully 3D style, like how ORAS changed the perspective from the previous games. I'm not a fan of overly "faithful remakes". I want to see the game from a new point of view, to be blown away by the actual scope of Eagleland's world on updated hardware, not see the exact same game HD-ified with none of the SNES charm. Imagine seeing places like the Lost Underworld in its full scale and grandeur!
To be fair, that awesome fanmade mother 3 remake trailer by curiomatic already kinda looks like links awakening. I imagine curiomatic’s version is exactly how it would look like if it ever happens which, once again, looks like links awakening
Game has anti-cap themes, trans people, (things that Americans don’t seem to like because they’re stupid.) drug and alcohol reference, music that they could get sued over, and there’s a free fangame made that would make buying mother 3 pointless. There’s all your reasons
I think the reason people say that is because they think this style DOESN'T fit Zelda. A lot of people do not like the Link's Awakening Remake and Echoes of Wisdom style for Zelda, a series most fans (try to) take more seriously. Yet, if applied to Earthbound and it's series (which it clearly has parallels to with the body shapes and eyes) it feels like it would fit perfectly. I totally get what you're saying though.
I played mother 1 before 2 and it got me really invested. M1 has a lot of problems (difficulty and pacing) but with what works, works well. I love the plot points, the locations and omg the muuuuuusic! I played mother 3 last year and its definitely the best of the 3. But its rare that all 3 games are as good as they are.
