If you trained your Jack off muscles with a small pump, you could squeeze a stainless steel bottle so fast that it bounces back in its original shape. ❤
My first video from you and I noticed right off the bat, cool demeanor looks being great shape with some almost weightlifter quads, saddle sniffer this guy is No poser! I do have a question for anybody that can answer though my friend was given this really nice custom beach cruiser that had a bell gel seat on it. I told him I'd go over there and look over it because I like to fix bikes. I took that gel seat off and boom of Brooks saddle but it had a crack in it? Long story long, is there a way to get it repaired? I told him what it was worth if he got it fixed he's not interested so I could probably get it for free.
My obsession led me towards the lightest skinny tire drop bar aluminum bike I could afford and initially I wasn’t disappointed. The weight of my legs alone seemed to be enough to propel me down the road and speed was effortless but the first root crack I hit at speed was so jarring it blew my hands right off of the handlebars. It was then I realized I had to rethink everything
I realize it’s highly subjective but how do you recommend I find the dialed in tire pressure you speak of. Is there a formula based on rider weight and terrain and tire size to land in the ballpark and fine tune from there?
So you we equating stiffness w elasticity? the MOoulus of Elasticiy being higher means more flexilbilty( i recall from college M.E. courses).? Alum is it 1/3 stiffness of steel or has less elasticity than steel. Elasticiy is a type of recoverable deformation , or changing of shape. Plasticity is a state it goes into when shape does not fully recover(inelastic deformation). The modulus of elasticiy is of a material regardless of shape. Stifness, as far as i understand and define it, takes into account the material as well as its shape or form. So i am cnfused about the statements around the 2 minute mark?
Don't suppose the cycle doctor could give us a few words of insight on his views on the relationship of saddle height to frame (and intended use)? I'm interested in how your mtb/atb post height seems quite low relative to your long sleek tanned racer legs!? Do you run your (non-dropper) saddle height at one consistent perfect level over both bikes... or do you run it a bit lower on the upright ATB for other performance reasons?
Let's imagine there would be a new material found (or created) that has the best properties (lighter than carbon, harder than titanium, stiffer when climbing, but absorbing vibration better than carbon, easier to work with, long lasting). Now imagine that it would be so cheap, cheaper than aluminium.. Maybe it's magnesium or titanium alloys.. What would the bike industry do? They couldn't charge 7000 for a frame that China could produce for 200 and beat all their carbon frames. I think 3d printing titanium will be the end game, as soon as there are machineries able to print a complete frame. (It may be some grams heavier than carbon, but you could easily print it fitted for you
Ronnie whats your hair secret? Bikin without showers is a common problem for me living on my bike and darn it the helmet/hat hair sweat is a curse. Yours is looking lush at all times.
Would 8 speed ergo shifters work with a Shimano 7speed rear derailleur and cassette or freewheel? It seems like the cog spacing and pull are close. I'm working with an old fuji bike.
hello, Ronaldinho. i know this is months old. i'm wondering how you got the Paul barrel adjusters to interface with your levers? did you modify they lever in any way? or did they play together easily? i recently bought a different 600 lever model and i have some paul levers. tested one of the Paul adjusters and couldn't figure it out. perhaps i'm too much of a noob
I've had a lugged frame MTB for a loooong time. I built it and and it's like my best friend. Extremely comfortable. Getting ready to build a new bike so I'm excited but reserved. This is a great video!
I had an early 2000’s road bike and a late 2000’s mountain bike. What would be closest to what we call now endurance and XC. Both aluminum frames. A bit unpleasant vibration feedback. A huge step happened in forming AL tubes cuz my 2017 gravel bike and 2022 XC in AL are significant upgrades to ride quality. Both have fat tubes and varying thickness. But in 2024 I went to a steel ATB with straight forks, swept bars and 650x48B tires and can’t get over the level of comfort and joy it brings. Steel far exceeds AL in vibration feedback. And that tire size provides great cushion and circumference for efficiency.
Hi sir! I'm from the Philippines where to buy Paul touring components?? I love it! I have steel univega via carisma bike with Shimano old model components. I want to change it to Paul touring. I hope it's cheap😅
I like a 2x10. I’d be perfectly happy on a 2x9 but I just think around the time when 10 came along, they also mastered the trickle down effect of the brifter. The tiagra 4700 shifts just as nicely (in my Opinion) as r7000 and r8000. So for that reason, I opt for 2x10. Hey you asked for it.
I’m puzzled. In about 2015 I bought a Specialized Sirrus fitness hybrid. I rode it a handful of times, but never took to it. Ended up selling it. This spring I bought a Trek fitness hybrid. Very similar on paper to the Sirrus I sold. But this one I like the ride? Why? I’m happy I like the Trek, but I wonder what’s different?
