In May 2018 something unexpected happened to me. A quick rewind: I was a 3rd Generation Jehovah's Witness. I was a true believer. I was told Armageddon would arrive before I ever graduated from High School. That was 21 years ago (1998). All major life decisions revolved around the JW religion. I went door to door every week, my only friends were JWs, and I judged everybody else as "worldly." I had "The Truth."
But then I started seeing cracks in "The Truth." I started to question everything I had ever been taught in that religious bubble and the result was a "local needs talk" at my Kingdom Hall in May 2018. It was a "marking talk." The congregation was being put on high alert that there was an "APOSTATE" in their midst and the shunning should begin. No elder had even called me to tell me that I was an apostate! This is when my life really began..FREEDOM IN JESUS
oh ya, as a teen in late sixties and early 70's we could never do or get anything --- we do do that in the new world or we will get that in the new world...
"I'm not going to go there." when Ray Franz was eating with his disassociated family member. Reminds me of some these judicial committee meetings when the accused asks the chairman "can you show me in the scriptures where it says one is to be shunned for leaving volunteerly?" and then the Elders responds "we're not here to debate the scriptures with you". When Mr. Jackson was mentioned there was about a three second pause.
As in most religions fear and ignorance are key components which not only attracts people to them but also sustains their participation, the JWS religion is no different in that regards. The JWS religion added another element to that as they propagated that Armageddon is coming soon. fire balls will be thrown down from heaven burning people alive , buildings will collapse onto people, all sorts of destruction for people who are not JWS. This was done so by the top executive directors of the Watchtower Corporation promoted as a means to attract people to the literature the (JWorg.) published, it seemly worked for awhile but many JWS and the general public caught on to this underhanded scheme . In an obvious way the WTS heads(GB) exploited the general public's belief in the bible to their advantage into proliferating their literature. The GB men of the JWS had come out and said well they are imperfect too so we are also redeemed in salvation through Jesus. So their false apostate prophesying they think is OK as they are self assuming and accepting Jesus's ransom sacrifice for their own personal redemption , but the bible says something quite different in what Jehovah thinks about false prophets who come in his name but say things that he do not give them to say.. Revelation 20:10 ...... 10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
The elder who is huffing and puffing and acting with a complete and total lack of love, independent of why he is doing it, has no place in a committee that judges anyone. He serves for the title and that is it. I can actually respect a brother for having the title but goes out of their way to act like Jesus did.
Hi Ali - thanks for sharing your ramble. My top tip for controlling food intake is prayer. I have heard it said that there are more nerve endings in your stomach than in your head. Maybe that is true but whatever, when you get butterflies in your stomach, the unsettled feeling is in your stomach not your head. Sometimes we want something and we mistake the feeling for hunger. But food isn't what we want. We want comfort, the comfort that comes from prayer, reading God's word and reflecting on God's word. The comfort that comes from God's holy spirit. Jesus said his food was to do the will of God (John 4:34). It was not a chore for him to do this, even when he was at his lowest point (Heb 12:2). Rather, it brought him joy, a fruitage of God's holy spirit because he knew he was doing the right thing. He stood up for what was right in the most surpassing victorious way ever.

Hi Ali!!! My friend used a great quote on me. When I was seeking help for my marriage a few years ago, she’s told me to “chew the meat and spit out the bones!” I thought that was fantastic! I was not able to use a Christian counselor because of insurance and my husband’s insurance had some sessions for free. But I just thought that Linda was a classic! We still talk about it!!

Found you becausr i was looking for the JESUS SAVE guy. Subscribed because my wife younger sister who lives in UK joined JW out of gratitude for their help. She refuse to listen to me . And "excommunicated" me it is a complicated case . First she and her sister cant get along and now this . Been many years now she refuse to reply my messages. Is all JW and ex JW all so stubborn? Still hoping she will find the truth.
Time 7:45 I agree it was an encounter with Jesus alone. There is also a place in Mark where Jesus is not speaking to a Pharisee but a scribe. Mark 12:29-34 Jesus told him you are not far from the kingdom of God. We have to ask God for wisdom so that we do not cast pearls before swine. But I also know that nothing that we do for the Lord is going to be in vain. Whether or not there is fruit. 1 Corinthians 15:58, Colossians 3:23-24
Time 14:52 It’s sad. 😢 You are right we are to be united in Christ. It’s not strictly unity. JW’s are more uniform than unified. But anyway, like you spoke of in the beginning, the Nazi’s were VERY unified but for the wrong thing. So Jesus doesn’t just require unity but biblical unity under Christ. Yes the JWs are unified but towards destruction.
Im glad you mentioned ruth moram. I'm going to start listening to her again.im now going to a episcopal church on sundays.its a pretty cozy home. I visited a Presbyterian church for the first time ever a few Sundays ago. During the week I attend a variety of churches. I've been visiting a Lutheran Bible study on thursdays. I've also been visiting community centers sometimes during the week. It's been a lot of fun listening to well-known apologists from many different branches of Christianity.Ali I always enjoy listening to youre videos.Keep up the good work.
