Did get 1 Dr optermest appointment. Cancelled out on the specislist. 🎉 I have some advice about this itching from the shingles is wash it and then use apple cider vinegar straight and dab it on and it burns like crazy for about 3 or 4 minutes but once the burning is over then the itching stops for a good long time..
I have some experience with shingles and the thing that I found is a very very good anti-viral is BHT mixed with coconut oil a dissolved in coconut oil about a quarter of a teaspoon in 2 tbsp of coconut oil taken at least three times a day it dissolves the membrane that's around the virus❤
Thanks Dr Mendelsohn, for the info. My phone has a night setting that tints the screen amber to eliminate blue light at night. Our Kindle Paperwhite has a "Warmth" setting that turns the screen sort of yellowish. Do these settings reduce or eliminate the blue light?

Great content Dr. My 13 year old daughter has asymptomatic atypical ERM around her RE Macula which has progressed over 2 years. The amount of iPad time she spends due to school and then using it for downtime, its out of this world. She's literally spent time in front of the iPad from waking to Bed! Many times! And while her Optometrist said its unlikely the cause or could cause progression, I somehow don't find it comforting or believable! Intuitively I have advised by daughter to not have the iPad screen so close to her face, but she doesn't like it, I belive some really good Blue blockers, diet and reduction is sugar could help stop/ reduce the spread? I have Shingles been on an Anti Viral medicine for three days. The burning over the eye and face is brutal. The headache pain and sinus pain are just as bad. I can see why some have committed suicide while going through this. It is a constant painful ordeal.

I'm 35 years old and thought I was developing a sinus infection. When I went to sleep that night, I woke up with the most excruciating pain in my right eye. I'm not kidding when I say that when I would close my eyes to try and fall back asleep, I would see nerve clusters. The next morning, I was in so much pain that I broke down and started crying. This scared the shit out of my wife and we decided to go to the emergency room. Turns out I had shingles that were later determined to have gotten into my eye. I've never in my life imagined a pain like this could exist. Not even the Percocet's that the hospital prescribed me could give me any relief. I'm a 61 year old woman with a mother that is currently being treat for AMD and a grandmother that had it as well. Currently I'm taking the AREDS, eatting more spinich with my eggs in the morning, taking fish oil supplements, and will start moving my work computer further away. And I need to purchase some better sunglasses. And I need to get more salmon in my diet. This Dr didn't say anything about spinich, however Dr Berg does mention it to be important. And it can't hurt.

Well Doc...one of the things that promotes the progression of AMD is Cataract Surgery. I had mine in January and very soon after my eyesight in one eye started to deteriorate due to AMD. I clearly recall my surgeon tell me pre-op that while I might develop AMD post surgery there was no real connection. Don't believe it. Cataracts protect your retinas from UV and post-op the increased levels of UV will likely destroy your retinas.

There is a strong link emerging with the increase in shingles since Covid and the vaccines … ?due to reduced immunity. I had shingles at 52 on left side of scalp down to Left eye and nose. My 21 year old daughter 2 months later got shingles across her Left side Flank/back. The doctor told us that it is more prevalent in youth now since covid and not to get any more vaccines. 6 years on from this vid ....78 yo with wer and dry amd having monthly injections... i.m very worried at the amount of man made foods and what they are cooked in..vast amount of research on this topic going on right now..check out Oxalates and vegetable oils in particular... Maybe the terminology Age related is due to the fact we have been consuming the above for a long time...!!!@

Started taking Vyzulta in May, 2023 and has greatly improved on lowering my eye’s pressure. Hope a generic is in the process because even with my insurance it’s quite expensive compared to other eye drops I’ve used. Still grateful though! 😍
