Hi! We're Maureen & Noah, a Dutch duo exploring life in Sydney, Australia. Join us every week for a mix of travel, quizzes, food tastings, and vlogs. We’re all about doing what we love and sharing it with you.
I went to Grilld once. I ordered and told them i dont like mayo, so no mayo thanks. My burger came, and yes, mayo. I reminded them i ordered no mayo, they took it back, cooked a fresh one and refunded my money. Which is great, but took about half an hour for a fast food burger!!
What should not be on pizza? BBQ sauce!!! Or any sauce other than tomato sauce should be banned. And when Maccas bring back pork rib burgers, jump on them!!!
YEAH! Just as l thought. You had TOO MUCH Vegemite on what looked like dry bread. ALWAYS spread butter on dry bread, before spreading a very small amount(A Little Dab Will Do Ya!) all over. Vegemite spreads easier and further on top of butter. As a sandwich, 2 slices of buttered fresh bread; a sufficient amount of Vegemite on each piece of bread, then place 2 slices of a bitey cheese between the bread slices.
At the moment, l haven't seen you try the Vegemite; so l don't know if you have done it right or wrong, but I'm guessing the wrong way. In case you did do it the wrong way, this is how a novice should try it: Make sure your toast is hot, then smother it with butter NOT margarine and spread over entire toast(or bread); now take a very small amount of Vegemite on the tip of the knife, and spread it evenly over the entire piece of toast. Vegemite is also a good energy drink, just add some to hot water and drink; it is also great as a flavour enhancer in gravies, casseroles and stews.
The Aussie way of keeping flies away, is with a wide brim hat with corks hanging around the brim; as you walk, the corks sway on the string, keeping the flies away. What you were doing, we call that 'The Aussie Salute'.
Thanks again guys, sounds like you had a whale of a time !! So when a whale breaches, has the whale given birth ?(jumping for joy), or is it a Bull Whale happy to be a father ???
We had an amaaazing time indeed! Great you asked actually and your thoughts are not that weird 😂 but the ones who do breach are migrating south (instead of north) and these are the youngsters! That’s why they are still full of energy 🥹
@@ianthompson5746that’s such a great compliment! Thank you so much 🥹 maybe it’s something in the future that we will upload more frequently but for now we’re happy we’re managing once a week hihi 🫶🏻
Maccas fries are horrible always cold, and McNuggets are great We always have to buy 24 because our Chihuahua loves them as well.Coke in glass was always the top but I haven't seen them for years.
Yes VB is the best of the everyday beers! Carlton Draught shood be second tho😂. The rest...who cares 😂 Oh glad you noticed the quiz questions in the caps..love those! Well done on getting the Ned Kelly question correct!
WTF is a gas station? Some years ago, I had an old Nissan that ran on both petrol and gas but Fair dinkum do you think I could find a servo that could fill the gas bottle? Besides the whole setup had to be certified all the effing time.
How idiots talk about Bradman, translated for American understanding: Babe Ruth was such a great baseballer - once at age 24 he hit every pitch for a home run against Alberta Area U-13 Little Leagues in an exhibition game. What a great player. (there were no *actual* achievements worth mentioning?)
@@naroe2001 hahahaha I noticed Noah does indeed pronounce it quirky and made fun of him as well 😂 I like to believe I did indeed pronounced it like ‘ee-an’ ^Mau
I'm sorry, if you don't know who Sir Don is, you have to leave Oz. Seriously, he was just 4 runs off a 100 avg, but it's 99.94 because of a duck in his last innings. Imagine every time you walk out to bat, you're expected to get 100... absolute legend.
Yeah fair dinkim basically means real or true... But it's used it so many different ways to say so many different things that depend on the context of what it is said. It can be a statement, a question, a expletive... There no real one answer to say what it means and to ask the meaning as a trivia question is pretty unfair... Not even I could answer that properly with one meaning. It's the same with most of the words. Definitely do not deserve a point for servo meaning "service" though. Your quizmaster was being way to nice... It was just a straight up wrong answer.
@@jvvoid hi there! Holland is a part in the Netherlands and people from the Netherlands are Dutch or Dutchies! :) we speak Dutch! Hopefully that makes sense
If you both want a day trip out of Sydney you could visit the Bradman Museum in Bowral which is down the road from Sydney. There is a yarn that the Walt Disney character Donald Duck was named after Don Bradman. The Australian cricket team sailed to England in 1930 via the USA and played some exhibition matches on the way thru. Walt heard that Bradman was a run scoring machine but the match that he saw in New York Bradman got out without a scoring a run, which in cricket is called a 'duck'.
?Pat Rafter?won The Australian Open? I missed those matches. I remember an Australian winning The Australian Open back in 1976 Mark Edmonds I think? I going off the top of my head so if I'm wrong let me know.
Hello yes I like to go to visit Australia for dessert to see. I can live when lost I am in the dessert for me very easy maybe. Australia dessert does not looking it is very hot in video and photo when I look so easy for surviving for lost.
Yes I am good at quizze to Australia I win. I ask you yes ask me question for quizze to Australia I win right question for answer. Yes Australia is very beautiful nice is friendly people they talk you stranger friend. I go visit Australia maybe I go one day.
The best burger from Maccas I think is the El Maco burger. Unfortunately is a limited edition item and is available for around 6-8 weeks every 3 years.
I don’t know if you guys have watched Eric bana’s movie “chopper” but it’s easily he’s best performance. Eric Bana was in a popular comedy skit show a bit like “Saturday night live” in the USA called the comedy channel He then went on to star in the comedy movie “the castle” which is still considered comedy gold standard in Australian comedy movies After starring in the castle he was given the role of Mark “chopper” Read in the movie chopper. When chopper came out people couldn’t believe it was Eric in title role as we were used to seeing him in comedy shows. Although chopper does have some funny moments it’s definitely a dramatic role Brad Pitt saw chopper and it was allegedly his favourite film so he got Eric an audition and that was how he got role in Troy If you guys get a chance I would watch Australian films “Chopper” “The castle” “Muriel’s wedding” “Priscilla queen of the desert” “Two hands” Two hands is good as it has a young Heath ledger and rose Byrne Many people who have since seen chopper can’t believe Bana didn’t get nominated for an Oscar
Hey! Priscilla queen of the desert I wanna watch!! They told us about it when we were in uluru 🤩 thank you for the tips, we definitely wanna watch more Australian movies
The entire question about golf is wrong. Greg Norman is a former world #1 and has won 2 British Opens but he has NEVER won the Masters. Adam Scott is the ONLY Australian golfer to have won the Masters. He is a former world #1 but he is NOT a multiple major championship winner. The tennis answer is also wrong. Pat Rafter NEVER won an Australian Open. Rod Laver won it 3 times, so once again the question is incorrect. You can't rely 100% on Chatgpt yet.
Thank you for letting us know! That way we learn correctly at least:) ChatGPT still has a lot to learn indeed, but in all honesty I wouldn’t even be able to come up with the names so for that I’m thankful for the quizmaster 🥹
@@Maushine Well my best friend was Dutch, so his family always got a laugh out of watching me pronounce it, as did I watching them - Paeder vahndehn Hoch*cough*enband :D
Admittedly I am being a bit of a muppet, but facts... He's not even third on that list... If they gave some minimum qualification of number of innings or something then yeah Bradman quickly rises to the top, but there wasn't so it's wrong. Average is runs divided by times out, 144/1=144.00, 6996/70=99.94 Which is the greater achievement is obvious, but it doesn't change facts.
I love u guys so much. If you need a dodgy big sister for your Aussie travels reach out because everyone needs a go to person for questions and support :)
