You definitely should have tried Vegemite on hot buttered toast with a light spread. It also gies well with a slice of cheese on toast too.

Many of our lollies are hard so we never bite them, we only suck them, Minties are a prime example.

My dad was born in The Netherlands and moved to Australia as a kid. He loves these Australian snacks, but he’s been here for decades. You stay here long enough you’ll grow to I love most of these things , hopefully.

Twisties are also sold in Italy. Same packaging, but different name: "Fonzies". Yup

Buy lamingtons from a local cake shop and ask for them with cream! Yum! You bought the big sprinkles! It’s supposed to be 100s and 1000s, which are the tiny round ones, and the bread is open flat, not sandwiched together.

They changed the formula for Twisties years ago, they used to be really good. I'd like to suggest you try Cheezels - some would say even more Aussie than Twisties. I always thought fairy bread was too subtle, so as a kid I used to put straight sugar on buttered bread. What a buttery, mega-sugar hit!! Man, it was good. Have to do it again someday. Excellent video, good honest opinions.

You went too thick with the Vegemite, your better off blotching it on (making it patchy)

Store-bought anzac biscuits are known to be average at best, homemade is always the way to go (and you can skip the coconut, I usually do), rather than a hard biscuit you end up with a soft chewy caramel oat biscuit which is delicious.

At the moment, l haven't seen you try the Vegemite; so l don't know if you have done it right or wrong, but I'm guessing the wrong way. In case you did do it the wrong way, this is how a novice should try it: Make sure your toast is hot, then smother it with butter NOT margarine and spread over entire toast(or bread); now take a very small amount of Vegemite on the tip of the knife, and spread it evenly over the entire piece of toast. Vegemite is also a good energy drink, just add some to hot water and drink; it is also great as a flavour enhancer in gravies, casseroles and stews.

Burger Rings are addictive once you open a big packet. However, I think they've changed the recipe/ingredients in recent years. Thecdame goes for Twisties and Cheezels, for sure. Hence the Cheetohs, maybe still full of unhealthy goodness.

Cheese Twisties can vary alot on the amount of flavouring they have on them, i have opened some packs of twisties with virtually no flavour.....same with shapes.

The Vegemite reaction was like... the move is cancelled, abort.

The Dutch chocolate superiority is strong in these two :P As an Aussie I can't disagree tho 😂 Did the Euro thing a couple years ago and I must say chocolate is divine over there. Here were more of a cheesy/salty snack kinda country 🤌🤌

You had way to much Vegemite, the best way to have it is on hot toast you apply the Vegemite into the melted butter ( the smallest amount). Also good with melted cheese on top.

Try the chocolate (not choc dipped) tiny teddies. Much better taste and texture.

I prefer the Barbeque shapes!

You guys i think are set in your European tastes and are sort of set in your ways. All these i love to eat. Also the chocolate thing your so used to better quality chocolate from Europe.

Our tastes in snacks must have an inverse relationship. You didn't like the snacks I love the most and you loved the snacks I liked the least (with an exception or two). I concluded that Dutch taste for snacks are bland? If you do another snack run you should try some musticks; they are long pink sticks. I know you will love them. 😊

As far as I know, coconut is not in the original anzac biscuit recipe. It should be stopped.

I am with you Maureen, coconut is definitely an acquired taste. No for me. Edit on the Vegemite coming out of the trash can was a nice touch. I think you need to be brought up eating Vegemite to enjoy it. Good job for giving it a go.

I'm Australian and I'm with you that Vegemite sucks. However, I love most other things here. Mint Slice, Tim Tams, Le Snak, Burger Rings, Twisties, salt and vinegar chips, Tiny Teddy, Anzac biscuits, Shapes - all delicious! :D

I never liked Mint Slice either, Choc coated Scotch Fingers bruh all the way or Gaiety is the bomb.

enjoyed the video, one thing. The Vegemite needs to be on toast with butter and a very small amount of Vegemite spread evenly after the butter. It is not chocolate spread

You used the wrong sprinkles for the fairy bread :( the best shapes flavour is cheese and bacon! and the vegemite spread heaps of butter on some toast and the tiniest amount of vegemite.

Freddo Frogs are for children...although I would eat the caramello frogs...

LOL

YEAH! Just as l thought. You had TOO MUCH Vegemite on what looked like dry bread. ALWAYS spread butter on dry bread, before spreading a very small amount(A Little Dab Will Do Ya!) all over. Vegemite spreads easier and further on top of butter. As a sandwich, 2 slices of buttered fresh bread; a sufficient amount of Vegemite on each piece of bread, then place 2 slices of a bitey cheese between the bread slices.

I suggest before reviewing Vegemiite, you do some research and eat it the same way people who like Vegemite do.

That jar of Vegemite in a family of 4 or 5 could literally last you up to 3 years that’s how wrong you tried it …if you do it right and hate it that’s fine but your spread it to thick

If you dont like products with mint in it why buy those products it is not as if there is only 2 or 3 biscuits on the shelves

For me the worst flavour with chocolate is hazelnut...yuck. Nutella is disgusting as well as those Ferrero Rocher things. Hazelnuts taste like wood dug up from a boggy marsh. The other disgusting flavour is praline, it's like eating perfume.

The gaytime jingle is "Its so hard to have a gaytime on your own". Cos people always congregate and want some too. They've been around since before the current definition/use of "gay", back when gay meant happy. In the 1960s. Thankfully political correctness hasn't made them change either the name nor the jingle.

Dissing on other countries snacks is LAME. Stop trying Vegemite when you have nothing like it in your country growing up. Also, every one who does not like mint complains when they buy chocolate mint items, also, everything on your table has been reviewed before, nothing unusual or new. Being the Pacific Area we eat COCONUT unlike Europe who cannot grow them so explains why we have coconut in things. Kids eat Freddos, Carmelo Bears and Tiny Teddys, so why would you try them as adults.
