Follow me for all sorts of DIY and Maker Tech. I will focus on my passion of being a Maker, Electrician, Mechanic, and now a BIM/VDC Design Coordinator. We will explore 3D printing, programing, wood milling, Revit, 3D modeling, and much more. Revit will be focused for the electrical trade.
I’ve had two dodge trucks (1994 3/4 ton, and 2005 1 ton) both death wobbled, a thicker moog track bar and a new steering stabilizer fixed it both times.
It worked like a champ almost sent the kit back since i literally used it one bolt but worked so good i kept it! Thank u for the video! Also fixed my coolant leak. My TDI only has 97k on it too didnt even make 100
@makerbit3970 I've done dry wall and landscaping and I either negatively criticize or compliment things I see all the time. I even do it in my own house. Without bias. Lol
Yeah, it was a little hard one handed. The plastics was just from a cheap plastic cup that was in the recycling, but any plastic will work. When you wrap it around something round and rigid, you just push it all in, and pull you tool out. The tool is only to keep the plastic from collapsing as you push in. Definitely make sure you don’t let anything come off and slide into the tank, like if you used a socket on an extension.
How did the steering feel after? I did the 98 to 99 hd t stlye conversion on my 98 which is completely different than the 03 -09 which was designed 10 years later and the 98 conversion added alot of play. The tie rods would roll up and down when steering and not only would it make noise over bumps but when it lifted it would shorten the drag link causing the truck to veer. They came out with bushings to reduce the roll and they worked but the bushings would crack and fall off every other year. I hope the geometry was fixed in this setup as i need to fix my 03, how has the initial impression been?
Omg im doing this job right now amd your video definitely keep me from parking this German piece of shit in a flood zone. Im ordering the kit you used to get the old bolts out. Thank you
Just fought a 2011 Santa Fe with same issue for 2 hours. 3 pound hammer and an old king pin as a punch. What worked was getting air hammer out and rotating axle around then some beans. Vibration broke up rust eventually. I did have strap to fence for some tension. I will keep the drill idea in pocket for the next time!
