How do you get the rod out to put the conquer skewer in? I can't find anywhere to help me take out the rod, but everywhere show how to put the skewer in... that bit's easy... :(
I tried to build same bike but branded differently. No mention of grease for the front fork. Just about got it in but was very hard to turb the handlebars. Took it out and one of the plastic sleeves shredded the teeth. So the bike is now useless.
I've never attempted to do this myself... Never before... but it was easy, despite the bottom bracket having been in the frame for over 20 years... I only needed to make sure to know which direction to loosen it :) Key info! Also, it's great to see how easy it can work out! thanks very much! It was great help!! I'm so happy now!!! (even proud!! :) ))
I am sorry we missed your message. Please do not ride your bike until this is resolved. You need to take it to a professional bike mechanic for assistance. If the bike is unlocking, it is not safe to use and you should not use it. Thank you.
We tackled assembling the bike as a family project. ru-vid.comUgkxzg0clhbtRf2gGxPkVETFKJJKGqdsorQu The package is heavy, but I have 2 teen boys that were able to move it. The written instructions were great- we didn't need to watch the videos, but it was good knowing that the option was there if we needed it. After we were able to get it set up, the boys each rode 3 miles and I rode 8 and the bike stayed quiet. The display is easy to reset, and you can put it on whichever setting you are using (time, distance, calories, etc). I will say that my butt is a little sore from the seat, but that could be because I haven't rode in a while. While it is comfortable for me, it was not comfortable with the seat position for my friend (could not move the seat back far enough and he slightly looked like a kid riding a tricycle that he had outgrown). He also said that the seat hurt his manly parts. We are going to look for a different seat that will be compatible with this bike for him.I did purchase the Wahoo Cadence sensor and strapped it to the crank of one of the pedals. This will sync with my Apple Watch, iPhone and will import data in to my Health app. Wahoo does have other sensors available other than cadence. I can also keep either my phone or my iPad on the display and they both feel pretty secure.
I'm so glad you are continuing to exercise at 85. You're inspirational. Well done. You can get foam seat covers online and they usually cost around 10.00. They slip on, like slippers. Look for "bike seat cover" online. Good luck. I hope you find one you love.
First off, let me say that Jims Bikes and Boards is amazing! ru-vid.comUgkx2YFGCCEkXKgqCOH-7vlvgb4L4hg4IrXI They're the one my Golden Cycle Striker shipped from and when I told them I was apprehensive about buying because of only having a front break they said they'd add a back one for free! Now as far as building the bike- it was super easy. It didn't come with instructions but even if you've never built a bike you can build it. You only have to put on the front wheel, handlebars, pedals and seat. Super easy it's just tightening screws lolIt's comes with the tools shown in the pic which is all you need. As far as size I'm around 5'8" which is on the cusp of a 52 and 55 size bike. I decided to go with the 55 and its perfect. Honestly it's actually shorter then I thought it would be. I attached pics to show you what I looked like next to it. I would even recommend this size to someone 5'7"Took around 3 days to come. Hope this helps!
These shoes work with the Peloton bike+ (April 2022), ru-vid.comUgkxGPkov2mNjgZfG33r6Bwvies8jKE4AKZB and are of good enough quality. I have completed 10 rides so far and there are no issues. The first time trying to fit them on the Peloton bike took 10 minutes (even with the help of an experienced cyclist friend who wears the same type of cleats). It took a couple of rides to break in. After the first two rides there were no issues at all.
A good tip if you do not have a bike stand is to flip the bike upside down and position your spanner/wrench so that you are pushing down with your body weight.
You need to use the quick release skewer for your bike on your bike when riding outside. Only use the quick release skewer that came w/ the trainer when riding on the trainer. Never use the trainers QR on a bike outside.
Have you tried to gently tap with a rubber mallet it to see if it will budge? If not, then you should bring to your local bike shop for assistance. Bike shops are great and are an amazing resource.
@@road_bike_outlet Yep, tried that. Ended up just cutting the cups out, got a cheap Shimano Hollowtech BSA bottom bracket to see if threads were okay, it seems fine. Gonna have to put some anti seize on the threads when I assemble the bike for sure
Good video. The instructions that came in the box were generic and not precisely for this model bike and even had incorrect info (putting front disc brake on left instead of right for example). Glad you made this video.. Made it easier to put together.
u know square taper cranks are prolly the most vintage yet i know of cyclists who were on newer hollowtech II or SRAM GXP cranks who turn back to the good ole square taper cranks haha
I currently have a 2010 GMC DENALI road bike and it's all original and I haven't ridden it much. I left it sit since 2019 due to the Coronavirus and it hasn't been ridden since. I can't remember if the back tire was flat then or not but I decided to finally get it out of my shed and ride it to run errands Tuesday and the rear tire is totally flat and I went to fix it yesterday and it is stuck on the rim and won't come off. I snapped both of my plastic tire levers trying to pry it off the rim. It wouldn't budge. I took it to the store today forgetting the tire was flat and it just literally squished and snapped and carried on something terrible and I did get noticed on it. I was getting laughed at, and poked fun of. But I'm wondering how I can get the tire off the rim to fix it without snapping anymore tire levers or having the tire cut off? Do you have any suggestions on how I can get it off? I can fix it if I can get it off. I have a new tube ( spare ) and tire patches. I just need to get the tire off to get it fixed.
I'm sorry for the late reply. I'm not sure what caused it to stick, but I'd try to carefully remove it with something plastic, not metal. If you cannot remove it yourself, you should take it to your local bike shop. You likely need a new rim strip, tube and tire. If you do it yourself, we always recommend taking it to a bike shop for a safety inspection prior to use. Good luck.
Hi Amanda, that won't work. Please do not use it in its current condition. Can you shoot us an email with some photos so we can help? please email us customercare@roadbikeoutlet.com thank you. We look forward to resolving this for you.
Yikes, it's hard to diagnose without seeing the bike. I suggest you take your bike to a shop and have them help. Please do not ride it until this has been resolved.
So after 40 minutes of trying all kinds of things, to include some black magic and witchcraft, I come across your video and I solve my kickstand problem within 10 seconds!!!
@@road_bike_outlet once removing my stem I discovered that my tube was wobbling around all over the place. I'm thinking the previous owner removed bearings and didn't replace them?
@@nathanielescudero5379 that is possible. Depending on the bike, it could have a sleeve too. Have you taken it to a bike shop to take a look? Please do not ride the bike until the bike has been serviced and is not wobbling.
