The best decision I’ve made was leaving FL in 2014 and moving to NC. My huge culture shock was seeing people open carrying and hearing “God bless you, have a blessed day.” It took me a while to get use to it. Along with people being polite and not having to look over your shoulder. I mean you still have to mind your surroundings but it’s not as bad as FL.

I love watching acme acres. You guys are so funny and understand each other so well. I hope to find someone like that again. I am very nervous about finding a man after my divorce. It maybe some day. I have to work on myself first. You help so much in this process.
I like to read mystery and suspenseful stories. I also loved reading a self care book from Dr Claire Weekes. She really helped me understand what anxiety is. I also have had a plethora of medical appointments this last year. My heart looks good, I am getting my levels under control - cholesterol and blood pressure. Just my thyroid and ears too keep checking out. It has been crazy.
Love the idea of consolidating over there! I'm sure there are plenty of Acme Acres viewers who haven't stumbled across your podcast but already have an appreciation for your viewpoint and perspectives, and it gives you the opportunity to showcase the nesting stage of getting all settled in your property once the building part is done because it's obvious your going to be really busy with it all! Even that funky animated intro really shows that its going to be about you and Luke's lifestyle there and not just ending when the build is over, so why not add the conscious contact layer into the mix? I would honestly watch videos where you're showing the gardening and what you get up to in your kitchen and just exploring the lovely landscape etc with voice overs discussing whichever topics come to mind that for under the conscious contact umbrella too. I'm looking forward to seeing what is going to work for both of you - its already really cool seeing a different side of Luke, and while I found you via his gaming, honestly you're the main reason I really like watching the Acme Acres videos already. I've looked into your planner and it's unfortunately not available to come all the way out to my neck of the woods bit I'm definitely interested in how your brand continues to grow there too. People use it to affirm and excuse their complacency and apathy, especially in regard to health, mental and physical. Self care requires real reflection. Just like a child, telling yourself no and disciplining yourself can be the best care you can get.
The thing I'm proud of is getting back to reading and not just reading one book and stopping for a long time and I wanted to learn to crochet so I've started that I also shared old episodes with my husband and we had a sink full of dishes that we both said we'd do tomorrow I came back in and he's doing them and when I said I thought you wanted to do it tomorrow he said "yeah then I thought of the Genay person you watch and did them today instead"

I had to overcome fear last year when my anxiety was at my highest and learning to live on my own. It is so hard, and I am still working on it because it is a process. I am wondering if I will ever find someone again after my ex-husband betrayed my trust. I don't want to be hurt again.
Anger is a defensive mechanism for a lot of things. I grew up with a disability and people treating me differently or expecting less of me and it made me bitter. I put up this wall of anger and when you said you used anger to protect yourself, I could totally relate. I did the exact same thing with being afraid of being hurt or abandoned (due to childhood trauma) and it was easier for me to be angry and push people away. When I first got married I kept expecting my husband to leave so I did things to make him want to leave so I could be "right". Thank goodness I found God and was able to let go of a lot of that but, like you, it's still so easy to get angry rather than deal with what someone else is saying. To be offended rather than be hurt. God's peace is so much better.
I started reading a lot again this year and found an author I really enjoy that writes thrillers and I finish them in a couple days and realized it wasn't reading I stopped liking it was forcing myself to read stuff I didn't want to. And I think this episodes shows it's okay to change and you're allowed to grow and become a diff person and it doesn't have to be a bad or scary thing
Still figuring out who the F*CK I am but it's a fun process! I have recently started painting and I LOVE IT. Granted, it's a paint by number kit BUT it's super fun. After sobriety, I literally felt like I was starting over on a new canvas (life) and I'm embracing it. It's cool to find that spark that I forgot about or numbed with alcohol. Glad I'm not the only one! ;)

Over the last year I’ve stopped drinking and I have come across this part. I’m in the process of trying to find me and it’s nice to hear that I’m not the only one struggling.
Also I know your engaged now but u already made a huge error by saying luke can't fix u girl he can fix u you just had to trust in him that even on your worst day he would be there for u also u letting him know your problem opening up before the shit hit the fan that's how my parents have remained married over 60 yr talk trust love lights out

I understand the change of life I too had to work to change being bullied at school has to stop I had to show up and face my bully everyday and beat up and those bad feelings that I couldn't fight then I changed and I was the scary one I was The Night Lights out🦇🦇🦇🎃🎃🎃

I had a friend who if you disagreed with her then you were ignorant cold hearted didn't care about people etc and it made me feel like walking on egg shells and got to a point I'd question myself like how can I have that opinion when it's so wrong (because how she'd react) when I stopped being friends with her and finding other people who were understanding even if you disagreed made things more interesting to talk about. Its a big reason I like the podcast you never try to make people agree or change their opinion it's always more welcoming to disagree or agree and just listen.
