Welcome to our channel! We are Carl and Cassie and we’re building a 25’ power catamaran by Spirited Designs in Australia with zero boat building experience. We wanted a boat that we could cruise on, cook on, fish on, stay on comfortably and call our own. Being giants, it’s hard to find a boat with a cabin that has enough clearance for someone 6’7”! We had to customize some aspects of this build to accommodate our needs. Tune in and see what we're up to!
It’s going to be a long, daunting process. We hope you will come join us on our journey!
You two are amazing!!! And Carl, to have a wife that is as hands on and supportive of you, and your ideas, and so trusting in your incredible ingenuity and skill is a marriage directed from heaven. Give her the same trust in her talents and you two will be solid forever. ❤️❤️❤️ ❤️❤️❤️
You guys must truly be best friends to spend a year and a half in a tent building a boat, and a huge boat to boot, you have my admiration and respect, freaken amazing...
5:37 That is so smart!!! I’m watching all these different boat build/repair vids to learn how to build a DIY cat , n FINALLY found the perfect option to fastening hardware!!! Thank you!!! 7:05
The cockpit floor is approximately 18” above waterline. We recreationally fish but I don’t think it will a be problem for us. Thanks for following along 😊
Have you used vinyl wrap on a boat before? Do you know the life expectancy of the wrap? Have you done the research? If so, we would love to hear your constructive criticism!
The motors were installed professionally. The video is deceiving the cav plates are almost perfectly aligned with the bottom of the hull. Thanks for looking out though. 😊
Brilliant update! You two are so proud and happy now compared to earlier vids. That flip-flop finish will confuse the hell out of the marine life. (flip-flop = good name? maybe not...) How do you feel about the design now that it's basically finished? It looks sick, that's for sure.
Wonderful work. The wrap was a great choice. If you are talking about a railing on the bow I'd recommend you use the boat for a while before you commit to that. I haven't found it necessary. On the other hand I think you need more grab rails. Just my 2 cents - you'll figure it out very quickly once you use the boat and you guys are smarter than me!
With lots of bad stuff happening in the world, it’s nice to see some good things happening. Tides of Change looks great. Electronics install looks phenomenal. Not many professional boat builders are so particular about wires.
Congrats on going with the wrap. I will be looking at that for my boat in time. The buses I drive for a living have them and they are amazing even in an accident. They don't tear
An absolutely great work of art!Well done guys, look like it has just came off the factory production line.I can’t wait to see in the sea trial. If anything,I would be interested in how the water tunnel between the hulls performs as I just think it could have been raised up a bit to give it a lesser pounding effect on a bit choppy seas but that’s just me.Congratulations and well done guys
