I have to record everything because I will not remember it by next week. Especially things with my children. Sorry if M memory is screwed, but if I don't record it and look back on it it will be forgotten forever.
Overthinking and overanalyzing. You were like two statues even when the song got heavy. I react harder when I sleep. Feel the song and not think how to break it down at the end. This reaction was painful to watch.
Don't. Ever. Talk. Over. The. Song. The pause button is your best friend. Use it liberally. Say what you gotta say, as often as you want to, then go back 5 secs and hit play again. This was unwatchable for me. Sorry guys.
You are absolutely right that those lyrics are written specifically for this song. That's how the band works best. the other three get together and create the whole entire song to, polished. Then hand it to Maynard and he writes the words
They each have the set lists taped to the floor so everyone knows what is next. When you actually create a song, in full or in part, you know that music better than anyone. It's harder to forget the songs than you might think. Even the intricate parts are often written. Sometimes not. And those parts can be played differently every time it's played. Once recorded though, that becomes the "correct"way to play the song forever. I'm rambling.
For me, your band is only as "Metal" as your guitar tone is. Heavy tone = Heavy Metal Everyone raves about Maynard's lyrics, Danny's drumming and Justin's Bass, but Adam's heavy riffs and innovative solos are sometimes passed over. Yeah I like the bass, the drums and the singing, but man Adams playing is my favorite part of Tool. He puts the heavy in Tool. My 2 cents.
You should listen to an awesome cover by a band called Elephant Revival. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uDT1tniPD2Q.htmlsi=XxbDIkZI8Svk9uU5
I remember hearing this on the radio when I was 13 years old. I was already a Tool fan at 8 years old. But damn I knew it was Tool when I heard it. And soon after went to Circuit City to buy the Album.
i strongly advise you all to either watch them live or look up a recording of them live. what you hear on the studiorecording, is what you'll hear them play live. it's mental how good they are
Blended transitions in a live show will add one nore layer to their brilliance. You have to get to a show before too long none of them are spring chickens 🌀🌀🌀
Fibonacci makes up many things in this masterpiece. Among them in the lyrics (counting syllables). 1 Black 1 Then 2 White are 3 All I see 5 In my infancy 8 Red and yellow then came to be 5 Reaching out to me 3 Lets me see 13 As below so above and beyond I imagine 8 Drawn beyond the lines of reason 5 Push the envelope 3 Watch it bend If you really want to see a deep dive analysis of the song, type in the following in the search field: "How Tool Used Math to Create "Lateralus" It'll blow your mind.
Sounds like ur having nice comments and nice conversation, if only captions worked... I really wanna know what you're talking about, is looks pretty interesting... But sadly, no captions, no translation to English... So I guess I'll never know... Kidding of course, but not really... Yeah, they're scarry, no playing around... The thing is, they're somehow transferring themselves fully, to us listening, I mean, whatever they took(if u know what I mean), you're high from it too.. No joke, it's a real thing.. Maybe it's through frequency, and it's like some form of telepathy, but not with words and images... It's through feeling and emotions... But, every single one that's listening (them playing ) , gets the same kinda high they(tool) had/have... They transfer you in a place they are, and you're right there with them, no exception... It feels like a combination of supstances ppl like the most... It can be a natural thing, where human body's producing same substance(s) in all those that are experiencing this musical frequency tool that's transferring them to the place where they reside while playing... I'm not trying to sound smart, I'm just saying what I think is actually going on(when ur listening to Tool)... Everybody's high, no exceptions.. and how they're doing that exactly, I can only guess... To pull something like that off, on every concert, they gotta be somkinda Heyoka empaths.. All of them... While playing extremely complex music... They are hypnotising everyone thats listening and then you get the high from them as well... But it's good kinda hypnosis, and even better kinda high you're getting from them... There's no other explanation... Im sure you already know what I'm talking about, if not, it's coming to/for ya, no exceptions.)), so... (no notifications for me, sorry, can't see anything in potential reply.. Thanks to yt, we're not exactly friends, censorship is still pretty strong, and truth is not what they like lately, so, it is what it is) ... Greetings from Croatia(from all countries)...
The final climax part just feels like going to the beach on a sunrise morning (when almost no one else is around) and throw yourself into the sea to get bathed and splashed by the salty waves! That's a true soul-healing baptism/rebirth (and i'm not even religious)!
This song is a tough one. I felt the same way the first time I heard it. The same thing with third eye. I used to skip those songs. ( different albums I know) but it’s because I wasn’t ready for it. Until I saw them open with third eye in 2010 in Edmonton..my damn jaw hit the floor and stayed there. Later on that night they played Lateralus. It was a game changing night. After enough Tool is consumed, you should go back to this one. It will hit different. And try third eye. It’s fuct but it’s so fn good. Anyways, that’s my rant from your typical insufferable Tool fan. But keep reacting and I’ll keep watching! Peace from Canada!
