"Tears in my eyes, chasing Ponce de Leon's phantom soul filled with hope, I can taste mythical fountains" - Juan Ponce de León was a Spanish explorer and conquistador. In 1513, Ponce led the first known European expedition to Florida, which he named during his first voyage there. Many thought he was searching for the Fountain of Youth - "become Invincible"...Only Maynard could chuck that into a song. Brilliant!!
For as much as I love the "Fear Inoculum" album, I still think you'd be doing everyone a much better service if you showed them a lot more of the earlier stuff. You don't start reading a book by the end, so focusing on the latest album is a mistake in my opinion, when it comes to a band like Tool.
may i suggest finding middle ground between talking over and missing large chunks of the songs - and - barely reacting at all? perfectly acceptable to pause, express a reaction, rewind, etc.
Last video they talked over the song. This video seems like an over-correction, and now there is NO talking g. No breaks. Just two guys sitting there getting a 10+ minute song pumped into them. It’s almost like somebody has never watched reaction videos. Play the song. Put a hand up when you want to comment. Pause the song. Talk about it. Resume the song. Repeat….
I,for one, appreciate the respect of an authentic response to a TOOL song- it’s such complex & emotion laden material that total immersion seems necessary - we watch these videos with the luxury of having already experienced TOOL (presumably?) and I personally don’t tend interrupt my first listen to monologue - smile, cry, dance, scream, give up the’0H fuQ,that was wicked’@ a sick moment of inspiration…hell yeah- but I find TOOL too visceral not to experience it’s entirety before reacting with my judgement- that being said, I also enjoy a bit more of the shorthand reaction (the subtle head bobbing is an excellent sign) during a first listen-however really enjoy Ur getting on abt it after a genuine once over!! damn I’m long winded-thnx again, look forward to Ur next
I wish you had listened to Litanie before this, they go together. I've seen this song live 7 times, and counting; it's phenomenal. It has the propensity to make me sob, even though I'm a middle aged woman who is not the target audience. It's so beautiful yet hits so hard.
For me this Album has 7 Songs. Period. I think the 3 Digital Bonus thingys are not needed (quiet the contrary) at all. And I think 7empest as the seventh Song is clearly the intented ,,Canon Version" if you will.
@@patriciahofer8704 Litanie is amazing and Legion goes with Descending. You probably don't listen to the interludes for other songs too. They are necessary and placed there for a reason.
@@RosettaStoned462 It seems the early release of the album did not include the interludes. It took awhile to figure this out when people were talking about songs on the album that I had not heard after several months of listening.
