I have Delta faucets in my house, they always send me the replacement seals, o-rings, cartridges whatever I need, for free. Free is even cheaper than 50 cents.
I have a yard with 24 onch high raised bed with irrigation. I read that we need these PVB s 12 inch higher than the raised bed. Is this correct? Where can I find more info please?
Thanks for the video. What’s the ID & OD of that tool that you made up to take out the nut? Where did you get it what pipe did you use for making this tool. Having trouble finding one that has the right OD/ID. Galvanized iron plumbing pipe is too fat at .85 OD … I think you need .75OD & .55ID? Wondering where I can find this.
Hi! My Koehler shower has been having issues with low water pressure only when I try to make the water hot. The pressure starts out great but as I approach the hot water and max it out it will go to a trickle. Does that result from the part you described in the video malfunctioning? Thanks! All other fixtures in my bathroom work fine for hot and cold. It’s just the shower! Lastly, it sometimes fixes itself only to stop working again later. Thoughts as to why?
Never buy a Kholer , junk, junk. I keep telling customers not to buy kholer products period but they don't listen and a year later there faucet is dripping because of Kholer junk. Replace it with a new cartridge if your lucky the new one will work but 70 % of the time even the new one will not work, just plain junk.
Very informative! Question(s)... I have a Delta shower cartridge from the late 90s (probably the RP19804). Does this mean I have a Delta Rough In Valve too? And if so, does this mean I have to stay in the Delta family if I want to replace/update the faucet? Also, do you recommend replacing the cartridge even though it seems to be functioning just fine? I will say it seems like Delta model options are more limited with this particular cartridge (it's a moose!).Thanks! Dd
would a 6 inch flex hose be long enough to heat up get a coupler in between 2 hard pipes that have no flex?? I currently have a rubber boot like your showing with clamps in between two hard pipes. Not sure if it will hold it's on a hot tub plumbing under high pressure
Now i'm sure that I'm not the first one to be 'tricked' by this 'er click bait. Half asleep, I'm channel surfin' like any good, middle aged American male! Anyway, and here comes this, from a bury eyed distance, what looked like a scene from star Trek. an' I'm thinkin' Flappers? What an' the hell sort of class o starship is this?!?. soo, it made me reach for the glasses and sit up for a quick eye rub. 'eh? Oh, yeah, I get's ya know. Informative video - probably!
I have 3 of these terrible, poorly designed, and supported pieces of junk. All 3 have been trouble and expensive. Constant leaks, now, June 2024, the plastic cover on a flush valve broke. This part 3174.105-0070A has been discontinued by American Standard. On their site there is a link to "where to buy". It links to nothing. You cannot find them (or at least I couldn't) on Fluidmaster's site. Broad searches on the web have netted nothing for this part, but out of stock. There are lots of parts available for very old toilets that just keep on working but none for this model from American Standard. I will never buy anything from them again.
I just bought this item and it installed fine however you have to hold the flush lever down for 3 seconds or the tank won't empty completely. The flapper drops too fast. How to fix?
Ah...there are two models, #5 and #4...better make sure you get the right one or your toilet won't flush properly. One is high flush/tank and one is low...the #4 is low and both sides of the bucket/barrel/float is sealed where as the #5 is the high flush/tank and only one side of the barrel is sealed.
Delta gave me one cartridge. It went in but it was a nightmare to get it to go and then they're saying it's a different one and they know the picture of my faucet. They know everything the year everything. I don't know how this happened. Even been a hardship to get this and who knows. Now the one that they say it's not. I got it to work but I don't know if it's going to damage anything
To remove the decorative cap, simply get a small hammer and tap on it lightly for a bit. Then get a slightly larger hammer. Be careful not to scratch the finish on the faucet. Tap a bit harder. Keep turning up the aggression. Now the final step. Put the hammers away and get an ever so small amount of C4. Place it gently in the cartridge hole Next, attach a fuse to the C4 and carefully light the fuse at the end opposite your 'splode puddy. Grab a cream soda and sit in the next room over until you hear the removal process complete. Now return to your faucet. You should find the cap and the rest of the faucet fully disassembled. Lastly, jump in your '86 F150 and head down to Harbor Freight for a short hose and some duct tape to complete the repair.
I have a job where I have the Delta ball, but it has a little guide pin inside. And the only ball I can find a fitted is the replacement for the sink faucet. 😔
The set screw on my RP 46074 has rounded off the stem as I had frequently had to tighten it. Is this a common problem with delta? Why is the end of the stem H shaped?
Thanks for very good collective information. This helps a lot of time, especially in terms of shutting off the water to find out what you have. With your video, I believe to have the ball version (the handle and the dome chrome beneath), how do I go by replacing it to Rp46074 type. I assume I will have to replace the valve body, but will I have to replace the handle and the wall cover place? Will the debt allocated for the ball type be sufficient for the Rp46074 as you mentioned to be longer? If possible a video would help if there is one on youtube.
Can not get the water hot enough on this valve.. water heater set at 135 water is luke warm coming out of shower head. Spigot with orange stop all the to hot. What is wrong, how do I get hotter water.. tia
I'm going crazy...can't find this anywhere. The link above is not correct. Does anyone have a link to the 1-inch thread for the bathtub spout? I've been Google-in for hours!!
1:18 Mine is the original flapper as shown here. It began to leak water. Do you know where I can buy such vintage original flapper? I look at Home Depot and Amazon and cannot find one looks like exactly you just shown. Is it too old to find one? My only option is to replace the whole toilet if I cannot find the original flapper. Thanks.
