Nice demo oso. I prefer .380, 32 hr mag and .327 for daily carry. Ruger security 380, smith and wesson 632 uc and ruger lcr 327. I prefer these rounds because of the concealment and manageability of the round especially when one hand use may be needed (in car, etc.) Thanks for the info.👍
@genbigmac2872 handling a 380 from a car or sitting position and one handed, which is very likely i. Either scenario, is much easier with a 380, 32 h&r mag etc. for most people. Either caliber is fine for close defense . placement and getting back on target for multiple follow up rounds is much much easier than a 9 mm, especially if using one handed.
I appreciate all your info on your channel and as a veteran I appreciate your support. Keep it up. Thank you for the time you take out of your life to pass on what I think is very valuable info. Thank you and enjoy your wknd....
First of all, Thank you for your service 🫡. And thanks for watching and commenting. I love making videos and I hope others will enjoy watching them. Glad you appreciate them thanks for taking time to comment my wife and I really appreciate it. We put out the videos together she helps a lot . 💯
A great way to honor your dad . My dad died last May & was buried the day after Veteran’s Day , that was good because he was a Korean War Vet. To honor him I did a 21 gun salute video using 21 different rifles he had owned , which now belong to my brother , sister and myself . Glad you have a way to remember & honor your dad .
Thank you. And great wat to honor your father as well. My dad passed in 2009 and I still miss him as much now as I did then. Thanks for Watching and commenting 💯
@@oso4586 my parents lived about an 1 1/2 hours from me , I was going up every other weekend to help mow , clear trails , things around the house , cook and be up there to deer hunt with him , my mom didn’t want him out here by himself . After my dad died did more things for my mom , sadly she died in March of this year . I have a lot of memories , times together and pictures
My reloads get 1022ft/sec and performed flawless from a Glock42. Very appreciative to see how it performed in the gel and on the water containers. My Glock does not ‘like’ slow speeds and will smoke stack. Thanks for the video.
I’m really doubting both of those velocities. Definitely the 2 inch. 1700 from a 2” is unheard of. Then it shows the 6” being slower but in gel you can see the jacket curled all the way to the base vs the 2” which left a decent shank. Edit: I guess you said all this at the end lol
I agree 💯, I reload and XTP has always been a top performer in everything I've loaded it in. And everything I've tested in Hornady Black up until this one has performed flawlessly. My lcp functions with everything I've fed it, for it to not cycle every round something must really be wrong. It may just be a bad batch but who knows. Thanks for Watching and commenting...
Go to the Fort Scott Munitions RU-vid channel and watch them take black bear with their pistol calibers. They were using carbines, due to Canadian laws, but the .380 was one of the calibers used. They even have an autopsy of the bear shot with the .380 to show the wound channel in actual flesh.
They work good enough, I won't carry them though, maybe in cold weather for thicker clothing but I wasn't impressed with this offering. This round in other calibers performance was far better, I do carry the 38spl +P in my 357
Might have to get some and try it out I think k it would probably mushroom and shed it's petals loose mass and end up with a stump traveling through the gel. I would love to have this aloy in a 147_
I see this type of demonstration a lot. I can't see where this provides any useful information. After all, this ammo isn't made for shooting lead playes, is it?
Ammo is made to shoot whatever I want to shoot with it. The lead plates are only one medium on which I choose to display its destructive capabilities with.... soon to be followed by bowling balls, concrete pavers, auto glass, 5 gallon buckets and whatever else happens to come to mind. Thanks for Watching. 💯
Not yet, I burned it all up and haven't loaded any more yet. I'm thinking full wadcutter and spire point for my 1st loadings. Maybe I'll buy some critical defense and do a video on that. Thanks for Watching and commenting.
My 1st handgun was a used 669 .357 mag in the early 90s I end up having timing issues. When firing double action, I turned it in for repair and it took a while to come back but when it came back it ran flawlessly. Taurus of lately I feel has really stepped up their game. Especially with the release of the new TH10 10mm that is going to be my next firearm purchase. I almost got the TH40 but Academy had the s&w SD40VE on sale for a great price and I'd never owned a smith and wesson so I got that instead. I've only seen the all black TH10 I'm holding out a little while I'm hoping to get one coyote brown or od green. Thanks for commenting and for viewing
Unfortunately I didn't measure but guessing by the size of the juice boxes I'd say 15" definitely deep enough to disrupt vitals and minimal risk of over penetration
@@oso4586 sweet can’t wait too see that! I just ordered some of the 62 or 63 grain projectiles too load from FSM after watching your video and FSM videos of them hunting with this round. Think I found a new round For the AR,the video on FSM RU-vid of them stopping a black bear in its tracks with the .380 pistol round is impressive also.definitely be trying some of the 9mm.
@@oso4586 I’d like to see them do a .22lr also I carry a Ruger lcp2 .22 as backup.ive been really happy with the Federal punch, but always room for improvement.
Looks like a fun and effective Taurus to me! I've been trying to narrow down the options for a .44 and might consider that one. I can't dog on Taurus either, my favorite revolver is a little ported .45 Colt and I carried their pocket .380 regularly for years.
My 1st .44 was a desert eagle and I didn't like it. Big bulky and limited accuracy. I traded it years ago and when I started to make videos decided I needed another .44 I love 4" revolvers I have a 2" and 6" .357 but would love to have a 4" I like this M 44 a lot. My only gripe is with the barrel I don't like the fact that the last inch is basically a ported barrel shroud. If they ported a true 4" bbl I'd like it better even better would be no ports at all ... it's a small thing to gripe about other than that I like I a lot
I get that -- my little snubby .45 is effectively even shorter with the porting. Heck of a noisemaker, but a lot lower pressure than the .44 Magnum. Nicer to shoot outdoors than in an indoor lane, for sure. I think a 4" revolver is easier to handle and plenty accurate - thinking about it, I need to get the wheelguns out to shoot sometime soon!
They do work and work well, they look very similar to regular fmj in the same caliber which also tumble. In pistol caliber I have a hard time understanding how they tumble with similar bullets that mostly just zip right through
Well I just got my .40 and am not currently loading for it. I've been loading .45acp for years and have a bunch of it on hand. I buy most of the ammo I use in my videos from optics planet so I went on there and looked at Winchester white box and Remington green and white box and saw the listed velocity as 835 fps my loads averaged 795 fps and the difference between was 40 fps. I crunched those numbers in the ballistics calculator and the numbers were TAYLOR K.O. 0.59 F.P.E. 0.81 MOMENTUM 1.31 POWER FACTOR 9.20 I think it's a good comparison... on a separate note my .45 ammo is tuned to my pistol because it's what I was using for competition.
