Hi Tony, my tomatoes are ripening now too, cut off all the leaves up to the first truss. I also use the same watering method you use too with the plastic bottles & pots. Works a treat, I did get the idea from you, in my polytunnel & the soil in the beds are damp underneath 😊 cucumbers aee doing well too. The mares tail has been awful this season and the ninja slugs too! I lost 6 lettuce in my polytunnel to the slugs 🙄 I harvest them all & there the slugs were in every leaf. I harvested kestrel potatoes a few days ago, 71b 40z I got and are a good size. An all round potatoe! Reccommended by a youtuber I'm subscribed to. My charlotte potatoes are good, didn't weigh them as they are always a good crop, i grow in 30L pots. Your charlotte are a good crop too. Love beetroot, your seedlings are looking good. Great video update. Thanks for sharing and take care 😊
I have one pot and a potato bag of Charlottes. First one was good, I dug the bag out last week and I shared a handful with my neighbour. I still have some left. The other one should be a larger crop that I'll tip out in a week or so. I live alone, so I just do enough for me and maybe a meal for my neighbour. I love spuds and garlic because you just stick them in the ground and let them get on with it.. That bug is not good from what I've seen online, it looks like a shield bug, just kill it, don't take a chance.
Must add the spuds picked from your plot are superior to the ones from supermarkets. I buy Maris piper & Albert Bartlett from the shops but when I pick my own they are far better
I’m trying to pick veg early Can’t always do that of course we lose sometimes. My gooseberries & most of my blackcurrants fed the local birds 🫣. My timing was off 🤦♀️. Hey ho 🤩
I think gardeners forget that growing organic veg if we were to buy it is a significant saving not to mention the freshness & obviously the superb taste. Even on a small patch of land or in pots is well worth giving it a try. Can’t beat your own veg picked & eaten the same day 🤩
I only have 2 large pots of Charlotts, I pulled one today and got a decent crop. I had some for my tea and I gave a handful to my next door neighbour for his tea, because I like to share what I can with him, he'll enjoy them, I washed off a couple for me and the skins just rubbed off with my finger. I'll leave the other pot a couple of weeks, that should double the size of them in comparison to today. I'll grow Charlotts every year if I can, I bought a bag of seed last year and saved some for this year in the fridge. I might have to get some more seed from Mahers next time. Have you ever grown International Kidney?
Excellent crop of spuds there Tony I thought you wouldn't get as many as you did due to weather , pity about the collies but like you say can still use them ,well done mate look forward to seeing other spud revil cheers.
I had a pile of 2-3 inch copper pipe that I sat the spud buckets on to see if it deferred the slugs and there was next to zero leaf damage With those spud plants.
Such a shame you let them go so far.The ones you left me l have just had an early tea.The cauliflower, broccoli and potatoes were very tasty.I will have some more tomorrow.❤
I think you did rather well considering how difficult it's been to grow healthy crops and the Monster cage took a lot of time to build so A top 10 place was more than respectable Tony.
Hi Tony, well done for getting 10th place. We are being judged this week by a local Association and was asked to take part by part our site secretary. Never done competitions so, shall be interesting how the hubby & I do. We have 74 plots on our site. Crikey, that is ninja clubroot! You should get some tomatoes off those new plants. This season had been hit & miss with growing, I had an issue with sweetcorn, had to resort to the garden centre in the end. Sweetpeas were a disaster too, 3.sowings, planted out, then munched 😬 another great video. Thanks for sharing and take care 😊
Hi Tony, wow! Your cauli, kale & broccoli look really good! Aww, lovely cat nearly wrecked your netting, at least she got off. Good luck with the competition. Great update. Thanks for sharing and take care 😊
Hi Tony, Michael shed area is a nice job done. Your garlic, strawberries, brassicas, are looking really good. Great video update. Thanks for sharing and take care 😊
I wish someone would take me, I've longed to go there for years. That Bi-plane did fabulous aerobatics. OMG, thanks Tony for this treat, I'm really enjoying it. The best video of the air show i've ever seen... thanks
