The similarities between "alien" and demonic encounters is stark. Nobody under 60 still believes that Adam & Eve were real people, that they ate a piece of fruit while a talking snake urged them on, and because of them, we are all bad people by default. Listen to yourself. No wonder young people have no use for religion. Try to stick to the core mission, which is to help people find their capacity for love and compassion and to make it a central theme in their lives. The sin & salvation dogma has expired. If you don't back off the bible literalism any good you might yet do is out of reach.
The problem is that some people see this as science versus religion. That's a false dichotomy. Science has no opinion about religion. Religious people seem to think that the science is trying to prove there is no God, but that's not true at all. Science just observes the world around us and reveals the truth of the physical world. Ask yourself, does it make more sense that God said "Abracadabra… Lion!. Presto... Elephant! Shazam.... Butterfly!", or that God introduced an amazing system where one cell can turn into many cells and those cells can grow and change into living things of all kinds? Why do creationists feel so threatened by science? Evolutionary growth is an amazing system. A beautiful design, if it was in fact intentionally designed. An amazing system if it happens to be the way nature works without a designer. Science makes no assumptions about a designer. It only marvels at the amazing system that is nature. If you believe science gives us evidence that there is no God that's your problem. If you want to believe in God, why don't you marvel in the amazing world we live in and accept the amazing discoveries of modern science?
