Welcome to the Mountain Rat Family! A place we can all relate to, tell hunting stories, and share our passions with each other. We are here to add quality content and entertainment to the hunting film world. Please sit back, blow up our videos on the big screen, and allow us to share our stories with you.
So sorry we don't meet your expectations of what a "real" hunter looks like. You should definitely put out your own videos and show the world how it's done.
Camo isn't just to stay hidden. It's outdoor hunting gear. It's designed and used for hunting. Period. Has nothing to do with actually being in camo. Get real.
I used to work w Hailey, being a hunter myself, she turned me on to your videos, love them btw.. put together and edited well.. I enjoy them alot..this one w the OG was great. Not sure if your ever needing content, the wife, Haileys buddy, has a cow tag for Richard's Hollow in Logan in a couple weeks.
The buck you killed wasn't the buck in the video label.(?) I watched the whole video to see what was going on w/the one in the video label. Please was it one you killed on another hunt? It was typical, but the most dramatic example of a dominant side dwarfing the lessor side I've ever seen. A very bizarre specimen.
My dad talked to you guys a while ago on the deer hunt I think you guys where hunting bulls and you past up on the bull elk that had the busted leg we saw the same bull that trip fighting in our camp also on that trip we saw the most bull moose we had ever seen. Idk if that’s where you went but yea good job man.
I mean honestly I didn't want to make the film because I didn't have the shot. Part of me feels like it's not good enough if it's not in there. But I'm realizing that as much as I want to make a good film of our hunts, it's not easy, that's not the main reason I'm out there, and I need to use what I got. Don't obsess with the film, obsess with the adventure/hunt and capture what I can.
Male elk are called stags not bulls, female elk are called does not cows, and juvenile elk are called fawns not calves, calling male, female, and juvenile elk bulls, cows, and calves respectively is for laypeople who believe elk as bovids, elk are actually deer not bovids, there are very huge differences between deer and bovids, deer have antlers, whereas bovids have horns that have just one sharp end on each, meaning bovid horns do not branch.
Well I'd say you're the absolute first person out of thousands I have ever heard made these distinctions including the scientists that talk about elk. So that's all news to me.
