Welcome to Travels In My Chair. My name is Denise and I am a 70* woman who lives an active life even though I have multiple sclerosis, metastatic breast cancer which has gone into my bones, and am in a wheelchair. My husband and I travel as much as we are able. We have an accessible travel van with a lift so we are MOBILE! We have lots of family to see but even when we are home, there's always something going on. Whether I'm painting, writing or sharing new ideas, I have come to realize that being in a wheelchair doesn't mean life stops; it means you have the tools to experience everything life has to offer. The possibilities are endless. I'll share my story with you and when we are able, I'll take you along on our adventures. Welcome aboard!
@@michellelanigan1964 hi Michelle. I just posted two on Etsy. One is twelve inch and one is nine. It’s sea glass trees creates. Other sellers will show up and you may have to dig a bit. The big one is $229 and the nine inch is &199 plus shipping. My kids say I’m obsessed with making my trees but I have to stay focused I’m in so much pain ❤️
Hey Denise…. I feel so sorry for you. Having to go through all this again. The kids were having a blast at the lake. Don’t overdo it. Get plenty of rest! 🙏😘
Thank you for sharing some of your holiday snippets, but on the other had it’s sad to see you are suffering so badly with the side effects 😞 sending much love and healing to you sweet friend ❤
thank you so much Emma. I speak with my Oncologist on tuesday to see if we can come up with a plan. I can honestly say I have never felt such debilitating pain as I'm having right now and I think I am scaring the grandkids. It can only go up from here cause I have so much to do.
Thanks Tammy. Got some magic mouth wash and it is helping a bit but I can't eat and I am worried about getting weak. With M.S. I can be so weak on the old legs anyway so this really sucks.
🥀🙏🏻🥀 Awwww, my special, spirited, soulful, amazing, courageous and persevering friend who travels in her chair 🥀🙏🏻🥀 So disheartening to hear that you are experiencing such negative side effects, especially thrush and the skin break-outs which are both devastatingly painful, of oral chemotherapy, Denise 😪 So, so, so sorry this is happening to you 🥺 Btw, I adore the real you, too. You are a bright light, and, I appreciate you very much 🥀😘🥀
Sometimes those chemo drugs can be worse than the disease. My hubby also had thrush during his cancer treatments. You probably already have this, but he was given something called "Magic Mouthwash", which I think was prescribed because it contained some lidocaine to give him a little temporary relief from the pain. I hope you were at least able to find some comfort in having your family all together during the camping trip. It looked like they all had a great time ... even Roxie looked like she was thinking about dipping her toes in the water. And that picture of her on your hubby's lap was so cute. Sending my best wishes that your side effects are lessening.
Thanks Ann. I got the magic mouth wash and it is helping a tiny amount but this pain is so debilitating. We are cancelling our trip to Alberta which is very sad but I know deep inside that I can't do it and it wouldn't be fair to the family to be worrying about me. I talk with the oncologist on Tuesday and we shall see what she suggests cause I tell you, this is not how I want to live my final years. The grandkids and my daughters are being so loving and helpful. For that, and for Allan, I am grateful.
Denise! So excited to see a video post this morning and hear how you are doing. I do wish that you didn't have to deal with the oral chemo side effects like the thrush which my mom had as well. Eventually it went away and she felt better. My best to you this week. 🤍
Bless you and I pray you beat the cancer. Thank you for your opinion. I lost 100 pounds w diet and exercise and have kept it off. IT WAS HARD. SOMETIMES THE Easy way out is not the best. Thank you again!!
@@susanl2762 hi Susan. Unfortunately I have two new tumours on my lungs so I’m now on oral chemo pills. Feeling pretty good so far. Thanks for watching
I want to thank you for taking the time to share your personal experience with this drug. It has helped me to make a decision to not get started on it to assist in managing my type 2 diabetes. Some of the same doctors who were calling it close to a miracle drug on RU-vid are now changing their tunes, pointing out some of the real dangers of this drug and others like it. Good luck to you in the future and thanks again for your input .
unfortunately, I have two small tumours on my lungs now and I am now on an oral chemo therapy drug. I feel pretty good and hope for the best. Thank you for watching.
Hey Denise… I haven’t experienced ozempic, but I do love camping on the water! Love to Roxie!!! 😘🙏I got a good report from my nuero this week. Woo-hoo!!!!❤
Lost weight on it slowly and in a healthy manner. It’s the best product for weight loss ever yet has many haters. I would recommend it any day. Lose the bulges and be comfortable. This lady was on chemo. She had many issues.
Thank you Denise so much for for inspiring us to investigate and make informed decisions about our body...no matter what condition we are in. Take charge of ourselves. I'm 79 now and giving myself permission to concentrated on caring for myself. ❤❤ and learning what I can and cannot do. Miss camping with you...miss you and your happy family... keep traveling on (in your chair) 😊 NAMESTE
Denise, please give Roxie my sincere thanks for the shout out! You know I can never get enough of her adorable face! I wish that you would have gotten better news from the scan, but somehow, I'm pretty sure you have processed the news and are continuing to see life in a positive light. Positivity is such a powerful attribute ... and it just radiates from you. Loved seeing the camping videos. It brings back so many happy memories of when we did the same thing with our family. Enjoy the beautiful summer! Love to Roxie from Boo Radley.
🥀😉🥀 I absolutely adore your presentation style, Denise! 🥀😘🥀 Your videos are filled with wisdom and a quintessential quiet that speaks volumes to me 🥀☺️🥀 I have no experience with Ozempic 🥀😶🥀 White Lightening is quite the treat, and, so are you! 🥀🤩🥀 I sympathize regarding your emotions surrounding that dreaded oncologist's phone call 😦, but God only knows...You are a powerful example of true perseverance, dear one!
First 4 days after chemo I am usually terribly sick and the other days a lot of fatigue. I get to feeling better about 2 days before I have the next round😔
My husband's doctor wants him to go on the big O. He hasn't started it and we really don't want to start. My husband was just diagnosed with Lymphomia, but he hasn't started chemo yet. He is diabetic, 3 stage kidney disease, 79 yrs, and has a pacemaker and two stents. We don't know what will be coming your way. On another thing. love your glasses. Thank you for your great vlogs. Take excellent care.
I have heard that you couldn't go on Ozempic if you have kidney disease. Just keep in touch closely with your doctor and keep a daily journal of everything health related so your husband can keep on top of things. Best of luck to you both.
I always wonder why people who are diabetic and on metformin or insulin don't just go carnivore? I did and in 4 months I lost 32 pounds and no longer had to take insulin and I feel great even though I have about 28 more pounds to lose. Just eat beef, bacon, eggs and butter and your health returns... make sure your doctor knows so he/she can reduce your meds.
This is a very useful video along with the comments from actual users. I believe there will be much better of this type of pharmaceuticals in the future. But Ozempic is too risky for me, due to thyroid and vision issues.
Tried it too but made me feel sick. I also felt incredibly cold all the time and felt too awful to exercise. I stopped after 2 weeks. Instead gave up sugar and sweet foods. I felt so much better. Not keto just sugars. Weight loss increased. I found I just stopped feeling hungry and always prowling around the kitchen for something sweet! I’m 78 have yo-yo dieted for years. Wish I’d ditched sugar a few decades ago.😊
Congratulations on your huge achievement . You should be very very proud of yourself. I know it wasn't easy for you and in a way it was all because of Ozempic-not working for you!
It was time for people to have an effective drug to loose weight. It’s encouraging. But if they end with the Ozempic and they continue their gluttony then the fat will come back. Pure logic.
@@travelsinmychair4140 Not for diabetic people. They have been medicated with this drug. It’s said that this drug is even good for people’s heart - if they lose weight it’s a logical understanding. I even wonder why they delayed so much to spill the beans about Ozempic. I imagine the diabetics knew why they got skinny, right?
To the doctors and big pharma it's about the money, not helping patients. If it was about curing patients there would be no money to be made. Makes no sense to go on this garbage to lose a few pounds just to gain it back when you go off it. The side effects are really bad. My doctor tried to get me to take this stuff for diabetes, I told him exactly what I thought of it. I also told him that he needed to try being a doctor instead of a salesman after he tried talking me into it for an entire visit.
I have heard from a couple of people who have had side effects from metformin but it seems generally to be fairly well tolerated. Sorry your experience wasn’t a good one
