7:40 Using the Wiki DPS calculator, msb(i) + amethyst arrows beats dcb + diamond bolts(e) on mages. Amethyst arrows are more expensive than bolts, but if you can afford them they're a great upgrade. Great guide though, I got my fire cape!
I don't entirely agree with your video, you're missing one section in the end and i think you know what that is lol, I always broke it down into 4 tiers myself. *Early Game* (which for me was Beginner then Adventurer) - You covered this in your video. *Mid Game* (which for me was Hero then Legend) - You covered this in your video. *Late Game* (which for me was Veteran then i would say PVM Master but also covering PVM Adapt as well) - You didn't really cover this section properly, you jumped from Veteran to god level player and thats a bit too big of a jump imo. The GP amount was correct but the term PVM god is way off the mark. *End Game* (which i would say is PVM god) - PVM god is anyone with a 10b bank, has the BIS for all styles (Shadow with best gear, Tbow with best gear, Scythe with best gear), 99 in every skill, at least 200 KC+ on at least 90% of the bosses in the game but especially in all raids. Is able to do a guide showing others how to do Inferno (this does not mean they HAVE done a guide for Inferno, only that they are able too if they wanted too, this would require multiple Inferno KC obviously).
I maxed in 2021 after playing OSRS since the day it came out. Don't worry about always doing things "efficiently". It is a game after all, so play it in way that makes it fun for you. Maxing should be about the journey, not the destination.
I completely agree with this video. As someone who has been taking breaks here and there just before getting into big gear, every time I come back, the gear I previously had ends up being nerfed and value for things that were already end game before are all going up in value, yet the gear I own drops a lot. The old content that people could farm for money are generally worse gp/h whilst simultaneously having the gear that was previously used to farm said content be slightly weaker. When looking at the general time investment required to improve to some end game gear now, it was always going to be a big grind, but nowadays, unless you're an already established PvM pro or have strong squads to run things with, you're essentially left playing in the sandpit whilst everyone else gets to drive the Teslas, and they keep driving further and further away. I personally think the artificial GE purchasing and destroying of gear that Jagex does is exactly against what the spirit of an MMO is. Artificially forcing prices and artificially forcing certain levels of supply and demand is exactly the opposite of what makes MMOs a joyous experience.
Btw if anyone needs it, if you search OSRS Jad Simulator, there’s an actual mod someone created where you are just fighting jad over and over. All you can do is switch your prayers to get use to his attacks. Can’t do damage to him and there’s no healers phase on it but it’s incredibly helpful getting to practice hearing and seeing his attacks before you go into the fight. I highly recommend!
I've played 10s of different MMOs from Ultima Online, Knight Online, Wow, Rift, SWTOR, GW2. Started OSRS 3 months ago. They clearly didn't create the game with raids in mind. I trust my skills. I've raided end-game content on almost all of those games. On OSRS? Learning curve is very steep and grind is insane. I can barely solo ToA and ToB entry level after months of grinding. And I still play it just because it's the only mmo I can play while working. Wish it was more beginner friendly.
I am way overstated and geared for this but I just never had the confidence to even try. Thank you for this guide. Getting a fire cape has always been a great personal goal for me.
For those who are a lower level than the Beneath Cursed Sands speedrun profile, the beta worlds are currently open. You can overwrite your beta save with your main profile. I was able to do the speedrun world one with ease (infernal challenge 1) however when I did it on my 67 range main on beta world I got whooped. I used the debug tool to set my ranged to 70 and it was still quite difficult with cbow and karils as the speedrun profile had 85 stats and my main only has 70s. I'm gonna train to 70 or 75 ranged knowing this, then log out before Jad and try a few more runs on beta/speedrun. Thanks for the guide! Really hoping the extra difficulty of inferno jad pays off (more healers and dmg). Idk how people do triple jad
Great video, very good points. If you don't feed the roots of the game with new players coming in, then the game will eventually die, and the servers will shut down. Not worth being short sighted IMO.
I think something important to note in regards to what leads people to this mindset is also the way other mmos work, especially wow, where maxing is the most important thing you can do and is where the game *starts*
Dawg i just found your channel as new player, and I have to say, you are my favorite, most helpful osrs youtuber. You're putting out content that others are not, and its so concise and well thought out. Even if you never posted another video (please keep posting btw) your channel is an absolute success in my eyes. Props man.
My biggest use of the bonecrusher or ash sanctifier is not xp but using it on slayer tasks in the catacombs. Burying bones gives prayer point perfect for tasks like dust devil's, necs, blood, anku. Extends the afk
Theres a video about that. Back in the day haxunit figured out a way to glitch multiple people into fight caves and whoever dealt the final blow to jad got the cape. So they had a lvl 3 with them and delivered the final blow and it worked. Not sure if its related but im assuming it is since idk how tf they would get it otherwise lol
Awesome guide, it took about 10 tries but after gaining some confidence in the speed running worlds it all clicked and we got the fire cape. 15 years in the making thank you
was just re watcing this vid for maxing inspo and i manage to spoon my 4th skilling pet pre 99 at this rate i wont be abl to max cause of the spooned pets
Man I got flamed and joked on when I died on my 4th try back in the day. I left my guild and joined another and got the fire cape on my 5th try 1.5 years ago. Just got a slayer task to do Jad and watching your video and knowing people struggled is the best feeling. The best tip I have is: Once at Jad, keep your nerves in check! Thats the biggest wipe factor
Ty a lot my friend, just got it after 3 attempts. Here some reasons i died: I came to close to the meele range of the mage npc (he hits a lot), and i dont know if its bugged, but always pray mage even before you see the mage, he has an incredible long range. The second time i died was because i killed the healer and didnt know they respawn, if you kill them to slow (i think they dont respawn if you kill them before they heal jad all the time) The best tips for jad was for me: Always pray range because its one tick faster and you cant hear it, its easier to pray against mage. Do one action per pray like in the video and most important, USE A SHIELD, IT HELPS SO MUCH EVEN RUNE SHIELD !!!
